Just thought I would get this up and running before the old one is full.

OP posts:
stepfordwife · 06/08/2007 16:21

by stern, sushi, do you mean a face like a smacked arse?

Kewcumber · 06/08/2007 16:28

Ah but lemon - I didn't care about being rude to him [hard-nosed finance director emoticon] I just wanted to know what the f* he was doing!

sfxmum · 06/08/2007 16:34

kew that description of the welsh would fit the portuguese, it's called lets let everyone know about your business

foxcub · 06/08/2007 17:38

..."you should write a local history book" - now that does make me sound old !!!!

My neighbour was born here, and his parents grew up here and he could bore the pants off all of us with his tales of what Kew used to be like.

My fave description was of Sandycombe Road - that long line off Victorian cottages which used to have fields opposite (now they have 1960's ex council houses and trendy modern town houses opposite)

foxcub · 06/08/2007 17:42

..anyone still awake?

I have just done a massive clearout of the Dcs clothes.

The dross is in charity bags but would anyone with a girl aged between 1 and 3 years like some of DD's favourites which no longer fit: mostly Mini Boden, JoJo Maman Bebe, Iana, Monsoon, Petit Patapon, - all very girly..

Mellow, sfx, Paddle, Steppy?

I also have a bag of 0-12 months with nowhere to go...

sfxmum · 06/08/2007 17:49

hi teens just left, nephew voice changed and he is taller than mei last saw him 2 months ago.
foxie - thanks for offer, think will take a look see what fits, and what dd likes, she is turning a bit more girly now, she is currently floating about the house in a fairy outfit, although i still try to keep most pink out.

SushiMummy · 06/08/2007 17:51

Foxie, someone once told me that Kew Gardens had very low walls that everyone just hopped in/out freely? Well, it's only a penny those days, right?

Following up the national stereotype conversation, if asked for direction Japanese would first apologise for being ignorant then guide them to the nearest police station and ask for direction on behalf.

sfxmum · 06/08/2007 17:58

i just put cbeebies on because it's nearly time for Storymakers to be followed by ITNG which dd really likes.
but anyway

there is a little girl belting out a Whitney Houston numbersurely social services should get involved
[double horror emoticon]

foxcub · 06/08/2007 17:59

Sushi I remember when it was only half a penny to get in. It was the same price as a packet of crisps - which shows how much the entry fee has increased over the years - compared to the cost of crisps!

The walls were never low (well not in my young person's recollection ), but we used to wait until it was closed and then climb over the high walls, for a laugh.

Ditto Kew Gardens station on the North Road side - everyone apart from the very old would hop over the old low railings

I won't start telling you about the magic mushroom hunts in Richmond park every Autumn. 'Specially as I never inhaled them anyway

foxcub · 06/08/2007 18:00

sfx are you around tomorrow? You could pop over for a cuppa/rummage?

mellow I think your DD would look very cute in some of DD's faves too!

sfxmum · 06/08/2007 18:04

yep around tomorrow gives a time

i am holding on to dd's things for now in case we have another girl, if no babies are produced or we have a boy, them i have quite a lot to give away

and btw how do you inhale mushrooms?

sfxmum · 06/08/2007 18:05

rosmerta · 06/08/2007 18:39

I remember last year we were taking a walk along the river and stopped to watch 4 teenagers scale the wall to get into Kew, was quite impressed actually!

SJ99 · 06/08/2007 19:09

Hi all
hope you're enjoying the sun. Would also be up for meeting this week if anything is happening. People are very friendly round here i noticed . Good luck with your househunting Sushi.

foxcub · 06/08/2007 21:09

sfx how about late morning - is 11am too late? What time does your DD lunch and nap?

mellow R U out there too?

sfxmum · 06/08/2007 21:31

11 fine dd has been skipping naps most days lately and lunch depends on when she wakes up and how much she had for breakfast.

can you tell i don't to schedules?
but am usually prepared with snacks or small packed lunch anyway

mellow2 · 06/08/2007 21:38

Hello everyone.

Hi foxie,
We would love to come over and rummage.

Thanks for thinking of us. I was just thinking that dd needs more dresses. So the timing is perfect.

11 am is fine for me too.

mellow2 · 06/08/2007 21:44

Hello SJ and Slink.

You sound familiar. Were you around last year?

Yingers74 · 06/08/2007 22:14

Hello all you west london mums! I have been away for a fear while and have no idea what is going on! Without a laptop I don't get to check much but thought I would stop by and say hello! I have changed my name back to the original one! I was once upon a time trying2bgood and in many ways I still am!

mellow2 · 06/08/2007 22:31

Yingers74 · 06/08/2007 22:41
