Brand new thread for July.

OP posts:

Morning all. Just checking in before heading off to "monkey music", then off shopping in Kingston for something to wear for dh's summer works party on Friday, (MIL is having the children so we have booked into a hotel for the night . Ele I have finally sorted out a local baby sitter who seems great and the children like her. Trouble is she is off on holiday for 2 x fortnights, then we are off for 2.5 weeks so doubt I will be able to call on her services until September, but at least it is now in place, so dh's social/work life will no longer encroach on my social life . Haven't read all of that thread KC, but saw your post (very reserved I must say). Hi to everyone else too. What is our current status re meetus (both evening and daytime)? If we don't hear from Nanou soon, I am still happy to host an evening meetup at mine, as we did at KC's with everyone pitching in if we want a cheaper evening out.

sfxmum · 11/07/2007 09:52

really? i would have gone for foxie or lemonaid more likely lemonaid but am often wrong

hello how is everyone today?

another blooming day waiting for parcel

butterbeer · 11/07/2007 09:57

more often right

I thought it wasn't really obvious enough as a namechange -- an analogous concept rather than a play on words. Actually I only changed it for a trial on the HP thread but then forgot to change it back before I started posting, so now I may keep it for a couple of weeks.

sfxmum · 11/07/2007 10:03

thing is i cheated as saw your post on other thread so not just a wild guess
reasoned argument and all

SushiMummy · 11/07/2007 10:03

ah ha, mystery solved.

as for this Sat, not sure what time we'll be at Riverside, maybe 11.30 followed by lunch at M&S cafe, I think.

2Cute · 11/07/2007 10:13

Bonjour mes amis!

Sorry for not having posted in a while. Combination of DS being slightly under the weather and my back messing up again. Would be nice to have an exotic reason behind it, like strange sexual positions but nothing quite that exciting!

Got to get last minute holiday stuff and pack now as we're flying in the morning.

How is ev1??

ComeOVeneer · 11/07/2007 10:16

Hi 2cute, hope you and ds are feeling better. Where are you flying of to? Can't wait for our holiday(5 weeks tomorrow and counting), getting seriously fed up of this weather, especially as dd breaks up from school next Friday (what on earth am I going o do with her for 4 weeks if it rains (that doesn't involve copious amounts of cash)?)

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 10:19

teach her how to do housework then send her round my house. Bag of crisps and a lemonade for each room she cleans...

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 10:20

have a nice holiday 2cute

11am at my house Foxie Ele and we can walk over to the school at 11.20 ish if the weather is good. then lunch either at mine or M&S copying sushi after?

sfxmum · 11/07/2007 10:21

and what do you know? the parcel just arrived! must pop to town with dd and get some wellies
for myself and other bits and bobs for our, no doubt soggy festival

hi 2cute what do you mean strange sexual positions? oh dear! convent educated me you know oh dear

SushiMummy · 11/07/2007 10:36

QC, not sure if the gate is open at 11.20, it starts at 11.30. Well, I'm a school fair virgin so no idea what to expect, anyway.

Took the liberty of looking at your blog, QC, and am deeply touched by what you went through. It really brought tears to my eyes. You are also a jolly good writer as well. Huge respect to you!!

2cute, have a lovely holiday! are you going to France?

hello everyone!

foxcub · 11/07/2007 11:06

Hi everyone

weather for Sat look OK -

Kew - it was Junior sports day yesterday - infants was last week, so CM's middle son would have been running yesterday

How much are you being charged for the gravel job? (text me if you like) We need to get that done here in a few weeks. We've applied for a dropped curb and want some of the front gravelled (I don't like "hard" standings - look a bit to "hard").

foxcub · 11/07/2007 11:07

SFX we have paupers membership so can't come to "Friends" picnic

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 11:12

hi Sushi - very kind. I know gates open at 11.30 but speed DS travels (has to sit on every step enroute) we won't be there til 11.30! Do you think thye'll have sandwiches etc - we could have lunch there.

SushiMummy · 11/07/2007 11:23

"delicious food and drink; cakes & cookies, sandwiches, pimms, fresh fruit smoothies and popcorn" sounds fab, doesn't it?

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 11:27

blimey last time I gave DS popcorn was at foxie and if I remember he ate virtually the whole bowl and sprinkled what was left on teh lawn Perhaps we should plan to have lunch there then if the weather holds.

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 11:28

foxie - its not drive quality gravelling just a bit of gravel sprinkled on the earth!

SushiMummy · 11/07/2007 11:47

sorry about my ignorance but what is PARP? The OP is remarkably defiant, isn't she?

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 12:00

PARP - no idea where it originated means (in theory) that you are removing yourself from teh thread before you say something you will regret

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 12:01

I love the way she is now trying to say - oh no its just about he isn't sure how much time off she will need... obviously didn;t read her own posts then

eleusis · 11/07/2007 12:16

It's okay, Kew. She is a nasty poster. I have had similar run ins on other topics. She starts the fight and then turns around and asks you why you are so upset, and then suggests that the fact that you are upset is a sign of your own person failings -- at least this is how the WOHM SAHM topics go with Anna.

Her husband is a sexist twat and she is no better. She isn't worth it.

((((((((Hugs for the lovely Kew))))))))))

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 12:28

Am just gob smacked at her ability to (virtually) flutter her eyelashes and say "little old me, but I only asked for advice, why are you getting so upset"

I've put up with her ramblings on other threads but have now decided that she is an evil old witch.

I was particularly unimpressed by her accusation that I'm not using my experience to help a fellow adopter

What bloody advice does she want? I told her hopw long I took off and how Russia is less. I have no idea how the woman might cope with her job - I don't even know what she does. She could be the bleedin' cleaner for all I know. I don't even know how much time she's asked for.

Kewcumber · 11/07/2007 12:47

thank you Ele - your thread really made me laugh . Going to take a break from MN now and get some work done...

rosmerta · 11/07/2007 13:02

Can anyone recommend a babysitter who would be available on Saturday and possibly the one after as well?

eleusis · 11/07/2007 13:18

Where are you, rosmerta? And how much are you willing to pay?
