Hi, have some Putney Suggestions:
Thai Square (have round table)
www.putneybridgerestaurant.com/

and Rocket on Putney Riverside:
www.rocketrestaurants.co.uk/rocket_riverside_01.php
(have round 70s booths in addition to normal tables)

eleusis · 10/07/2007 16:56

That's okay. Even I don't want to go out in Sunbury. My first choice is probably Kingston, but I'm happy to venture further afield. However, if we do do Kingston, we could probably persuade some of the West London crowd to join us.

Sunbury would definately be out for me, but Putney is ok

And I will remember to avoid any heated convo's for a couple of weeks before

eleusis · 10/07/2007 17:09

The Thai in Putney looksnice.

It is very nice, the food is excellent, and the coctail lounge downstairs is great. Though it is fairly upmarket it is not that pricy. (At least not all the dishes, lol)

magnolia1 · 10/07/2007 17:59

Dh says a 265 goes from Tolworth and thats only 5 minutes from me so Putney looks easy

magnolia1 · 10/07/2007 18:00

Jus read the cocktail lounge bit, Sounds like my kinda place

BecauseImTheFatLady · 10/07/2007 18:10

Putney is easier, but can do Kingston as well.

Shall we fix a date then?

I would guess the immediate issue is going to be holidays - so how about fixing the next one at the beginning of September?

ComeOVeneer · 16/07/2007 12:39

Kingston would be fab for me too, but dates permitting I will do Wimbeldon etc. September will probably be best for me as we are away in August.

StarryStarryNight · 16/07/2007 21:57

It is holiday time, so should we agree on a saturday in September?

How is everyone set for the 8th or 15th of September? Both these dates are ok for me!

ComeOVeneer · 16/07/2007 21:59

AFAIK I am free both those Saturdays. Diary and calendar in the kitchen and I am up in bed so will double check tomorrow.

magnolia1 · 16/07/2007 22:05

Both are fine with me too. 8th probably better as I will have the twins birthday party for school friends on the 15th

StarryStarryNight · 16/07/2007 22:11

Ok we have sort of nearly agreed on a date then, but how about the venue?

For Putney, we have Thai Square as a possible, should we suggest Drift again as a Wimbledon contender? Could anybody who knows Kingston suggest something?

CristinaTheAstonishing · 16/07/2007 22:28

I'd prefer the 15th to the 8th September but could do the 8th too. I have an exam on the 14th so the 15th would be either very happy or very anxious, the 8th would be just v anxious.

I don't mind the venue as long as it's near public transport or maybe the other Wimbledonians want to share a taxi back (this would be around £20 from Kingston). This is my 6th week of jury service in Kingston and TBH I've had just about enough of seeing it but I'll have gotten over it by September.

BecauseImTheFatLady · 16/07/2007 23:25

8th is my wedding anniversary (eek - 17 years!) so would have to check with dh. (We don't really celebrate it, but I can't assume he won't want to go out and don't want to hurt his feelings!)

Don't mind where we go and happy to share a cab back to Wimbledon.

eleusis · 18/07/2007 13:36

For Kingston, we could do Old Orleans or Tony Romas. Both in the Odeon complex very close to train and bus.

I am currently okay for both 8th and 15th.

OP posts:
eleusis · 18/07/2007 14:43

This is the Wimbledon meet-up thread. I'm sure you'd be welcome here, too. But I think West London will be more convenient for you.

a-ha
will re-post
thanks

ComeOVeneer · 23/07/2007 12:21

Have we made any progress on deciding where and when?

StarryStarryNight · 29/07/2007 09:25

I think Magnolia is busy with her twins birthday party on the 15th, this leaves us with the 8.

How is everyone set for 8th September?

I am ok with the Kingston Suggestions, any would do. Unless we are doing Thai Square by Putney Bridge .

No really, I am not that demanding, we have just had a dinner in Putney, LOL!
