Ok for the last 2 years or so we have had an August picnic in Sutton Park. We usually meet at town gate under the big tree in the field where the kids can play football. I was thinking of doing it again in August this year so who's up for it?

OK so is there anyone else that would like to join us next Thursday in Sutton Park at Town Gate.

Can everyone else confirm their availability now we are getting closer to the date please.

Also if anyone comming in a car has a windbreak or beach tent could they bring them so that we can cordon off the eating are to keep smaller children contained till we are ready to head down to the playground.

Hi there, DD and I will still be there if possible. Her grandparents now want to take her to Devon Monday to Wednessday next week, and I and not sure id she will be up for it after that. She is currently at my parents in Scotland until Sunday.

nappyaddict · 09/08/2007 15:05

is there still an outdoor pool at sutton park. i'm sure it was still there last year.

mummyhill · 09/08/2007 15:49

It used to be at keepers pool but has been closed for some time now. There also used to be a large paddling pool at town gate but that has been gone for at least 6 years.

oh don't know where i'm thinking of then lol. i'm sure someone told me they swam at sutton park last july.

mummyhill · 12/08/2007 09:37

It is possible that they ignored all the warning signs and tried swimming in one of the seven lakes. However I really wouldn't recomend it.

Or they swam at Wtndley swimming baths which is just on the edge of the park but that is inside, and is currently closed for refurb.

Hi there,

Well DD arrived home from my parents today about 4pm, and is off again tomorrow morning to Devon with her other grandparents.

I will be there on Thursday, but likely to be without her as they will probably stay until Friday.

Looking forward to seeig everyone again.

mummyhill · 14/08/2007 07:41

Weather forecast is not looking good for this week. Do you want to change the venue or the date or should I look at borrowing a tent or two as well as the gazebo?

WinnieThePooh · 15/08/2007 08:18

HI there,

Just looked on a couple of weather sites. They are saying LIGHT SHOWERS for thursday. I am happy to keep it at the park, but will go with the majority.

Ronniebaby · 15/08/2007 10:24

I'm not fussed either way, I'll check in again tomorrow if I can, my broadband has crashed , so I'm using dial up aarrgghhhhh. Have an engineer booked for today, so we'll see.

What other alternatives are there????

grannyslippers · 15/08/2007 23:21

I'm happy to go with the flow whether it rains or not, will bring wellies. looking forward to it

mummyhill · 16/08/2007 01:40

OK if it is just light showers we will go ahead.

See you all later. DD is still in Devon, but I am looking forward to seeing you all.

mummyhill · 16/08/2007 07:27

OK forecast is sunshine and showers with a light breeze. I have gazeebo, two little beach tents and a couple of wind breaks ready to put up when I get there so we should have a bit of shelter. If you are comming by car try and park by the visitors centre or on the road by the playground and look for tents under a large tree.

Morning guys,

Sorry, but I am going to have to pass as my 35-week bump is giving me a few pains and aches this morning, so not really up for making the trip.

Hope you have a nice one!

Ronniebaby · 16/08/2007 10:11

Mummyhill has arrived at the park and there is some maintenane work happening under the big tree, so she is setting upon the field opposite the playground, so as you come into Town Gate her gazebo will be up on the right hand side.

WinnieThePooh · 16/08/2007 10:19

THanks for letting us know RB. See you later.

mummyhill · 16/08/2007 15:19

nappyaddict · 22/08/2007 14:47

sorry i didn't make it guys

my laptop broke and they said the only day they could come and get it was thursday. said they were going to come between 12 and 5 but they actually came at 10 i'd just got back from a spot of shopping so they were lucky they caught me. would have been very annoyed if i'd waited in all day without knowing they'd come 2 hours early!!

was quite annoyed cos i could have come afterall but i had cancelled my lift cos i thought i couldn't come.

let me know when the next meet up is!

mummyhill · 23/08/2007 16:15

No worries Nappyaddict will let you know when we are getting together again.
