Ok for the last 2 years or so we have had an August picnic in Sutton Park. We usually meet at town gate under the big tree in the field where the kids can play football. I was thinking of doing it again in August this year so who's up for it?

i'd be up for it but not sure i could get to sutton park easily as i don't drive. what about cannon hill. it might be more central for non-drivers to get to.

mummyhill · 04/05/2007 12:47

Where would you be comming from? It isn't to bad to get bus or train to sutton, one of the local mums could even meet you off the bus or train.

nappyaddict · 04/05/2007 12:54

mummyhill · 05/05/2007 10:31

mummyhill · 07/05/2007 08:12

Of course you can sniff bring all three munchkins with you as I miss them.

Looking forward to you comming home your news has made me feel brighter.

I will make a banner and dig out the wind shields and picnic blanket so we can sort of enclose the eating are so that the mobile tinies can't disapear. We can allways take the breaks down after eating so we can watch the older kids can run around a bit. We can also take it in turns to supervise a trip down to the cafe area where all the swings etc are. If the weather is really good we can even have a paddle in the stream so bring some towels and a change of clothes.

When we have a bit more interest I need to know when everyone is available so we can set a date.

mummyhill · 08/05/2007 10:26

mummyto6 of course you can bring as many as you like. You can even bring friends and neighbours if you want.

Sniff sorry yes I want to see your monsters, also dd would never forgive us if you left ds1 at home as she worships him.

So up dated list:

Mummyhill + 2 children
nappyaddict?
Sniff + 3 children
lissielou + 1
winniethepooh
SueBaroo
mummyto6 + 4 maybe 6 if you twist their arms.

Can you let me know what dates you are all available in August please?

Usual format is for me to turn up at the park and set up base camp in the morning. Then everyone else turns up around 12ish with their children and picnic baskets. We spend a bit of time getting to know each other and give stragglers a chance to arrive. Sit and eat then play footy/frizbee/catch/take kids down to the swings. I will see if I can get hold of a parachute so we can play parachute games as well. Stay as long as we like and then home having made some new friends.

I will bring a couple of wind breaks, picnic blanket and as many deck chairs as I can get my hands on/fit in the car. If you would prefer I will also attempt to make a banner so that you will be in no doubt as to where we are meeting as there are usually a few large groups in the park at that time of year.
