Hi ladies

Since our thread seems to have disappeared from Chat, this is a reminder that we are booked to meet on 7th July, but I am about to change it to 14 July, in North Oxford. I will phone him soon. Honest. I will also find out whether a bouncy castle fits in the hall.

We will aim vaguely for:

mid morning arrival, tea/coffee, play etc. There's a playground across the road, toys inside the hall, a river with ducks nearby.

12.00 lunch - baked potatoes, various fillings, salad. Possibly barbeque bitsnpieces too.

12.45 optional visit to nearby park with larger playground, duckpond, crazy golf, icecream shop (5 minutes drive)

15.00 prayer and praise session. There's a pub over the road (with a bouncy castle in the garden!)/long country walks/a busstop into the City nearby for any dhs who need to escape.

16.00 tea: sarnies, pasta salad, quiche, pizza

16.45 walk to the local river/ducks and/or depart when you like.

So far for the 14th we have

CaptainDippy, MrDippy, Sprog x 3 (aged 3, 2 and tiny),
Weirdbird, Moominpapa, Sprog x 2 (aged 4 and very smallish),
Mary, + 2 (aged 7 and 4),
Roseylea, + 2 (aged 3 and 6),
Mufti (possibly Mr Mufti ? at a distance - plus 1 aged 1)
NQSTM + 1 (aged 3. DS1 aged 7 may be around later!)

Also possibly
Zippidisooz, plus MrSlooz, Sprog x 3 (aged 10 and 3 and 3)
Fannyannie ? plus dh plus 3?
Peachyclair (plus Mr Peachey + 2 sprogs??)
CaptainCaveman (plus children - how old are they CCM?)
PandaG and Mr Panda
Mumtogusandalbie ? plus parents? plus gus and albie - you can possibly make it if we're changing to the 14th, can't you?!

NSFN (plus 4?) but probably too far. Do you want me to see if there might be accommodation with a local church family for the Friday night?

Plus anyone else who would like to sign up.

All three car seats fit in the back!!!!!!

Thank you for prayers .......

We're rockin'! Just packing stuff now, planning to go as soon as the girls are up & breakfasted & dressed in the morning (& DH & I too, of course!! )

Yey!

PandaG · 13/07/2007 21:40

we're looking forward to it - Worzella, me, and her DD who is my gorgeous God-daughter.

So - I obv. know Worzella, and I have met Mary briefly, but apart from that I am pretty nervous too!!

Roseylea · 13/07/2007 21:42

I am looking forward to it but am a bit nervous too.

It took dd ages to get to sleep tonight - so I apologise in advance if she's a stroppy little madam tomorrow! She says she can't wait to go on the bouncy castle at the pub!

CaptainDippy · 13/07/2007 23:26

Bless her rosey! We haven't really told our too, not sure they "get" it, iykwim!? Will just chuck them in the car tomorrow morning and hope for the best!

Nervous, but excited & looking forward to meeting you all!

Car is pretty much packed, need to go get some sleep .......

CaptainDippy · 13/07/2007 23:27

our two obviously!

DutchOma · 14/07/2007 07:21

OK, just caught up with both threads. Now I'm going to have some breakfast and leave at 8.15.

God bless you all on your journeys.

MaryBS · 14/07/2007 08:37

We're leaving at 9. Should be with you between 10:30 and 11am. Panda, CD and NQGU have got my mobile if necessary...

weirdbird · 14/07/2007 17:43

Hope your all having a wonderful time, I went to bed as soon as DH got home yesterday and have only just got up, am running a temp and despite sleeping the clock around I still feel pants

Am just so and to have missed today. but tbh there is no way I feel well enough and I wouldnt want to pass on whatever this is.

Roseylea · 14/07/2007 19:34

My I be the first to say...we're home! (after a quick stop off at a certian fast food outlet...)

And thank you soooooooooo much to NQGU for organising today! (abd all the food prep - what a lot of hard work you put into it) It was so lovely to meet you all, put faces to names and real names to MN names! It was a really enjoyable, relaxing day. The dc really enjoyed it too; as ds put it "I want to stay here forever Mummy!"

Now to put those monkeys to bed...!

PandaG · 14/07/2007 21:26

We're all home too had a lovely day, and thanks again NQGU for organising it all, we had a fab time

I hope that you are feling better really quickly Weirdbird

Notquitegrownup · 14/07/2007 22:30

It was lovely to meet you all too. No thanks necessary, honestly - as I said, it saved me having to drive anywhere!

We prayed for you WB - and others too - although rather briefly. Having a dozen excited and hungry toddlers playing nearby is not most condusive (sp? tired!) to lengthy prayer. Hope that you feel much better sooooon. Next time.

Well, the 3 little delicious Dippies are all bathed and hopefully asleep. My two went out like lights.

G'night all.

Lovely to see you all, thanks for sorting the food NQGU - great to put faces to names...

MaryBS · 15/07/2007 06:52

We got home about 8:45 last night. DS never stopped chatting all the way home! I thought he'd have dropped off to sleep! Then I put him to bed, and he was STILL chatting away! He was so funny!

It WAS lovely to see you all! Like everyone says, special thanks to NQGU! I felt guilty because all you seemed to do was run round looking after everyone...

DutchOma · 15/07/2007 09:00

I posted on the wrong thread yesterday, didn't I? Never mind.

What I completely forgot was that I had some knitting with me, a dark/denim blue cardigan in progress which I'd wanted to offer round for anybody who might like it. It will be 67 cm,26 1/2" wide (actual measurement) and could be for a boy or a girl. Let me know if you'd like it, it hasn't got a name on yet.

My dh had a good time with his cousin in Malvern, got home a little later than me, thanks to Mary.
Have a blessed Sunday all of you.

CarGirl · 15/07/2007 13:36

We got home really quick and straight out the PTA BBQ so we're all shattered but had a lovely time yesterday and yes NQGU & DO seemed to spend most of their time hosting and feeding everyone, thank you so much.

Notquitegrownup · 15/07/2007 20:52

Hmm, I don't think I am very good at sitting still anymore. It may have something to do with having two boys - or maybe I've just always been like that! Still, I enjoy feeding people!

CD and family have just left us. We tried to post to you all today, but the broadband link has been rubbish and keeps crashing.

(We also tried to go swimming, and managed to get nine of us into the water, only to be told by our rubbish pool staff that the pool was closing after 20 minutes!

So glad that your ds enjoyed the day Mary. V. impressed at you getting to the PTA barbeque too, Cargirl! Amazing.

OK off to check the prayer thread.

Hello! 3 sleeping girlies this morning - incredible - have had to walk round the garden about a million times, but dear little DD1 is sleeping in her pushchair outside on the lawn (can see her from the windom, she looks soooo sweet! ) So a little time to post and say how wonderful it was to see everyone who came to the Meey-Up! The Dippies had a super lovely time, it was really fab!! I echo everyone's thanks to NQGU with all her super organising and food prep etc ...... Special thanks as well for being so hospitable and accomodating to my little brood and I ..... we thoroughly enjoyed swimming, even if it was only 20 mins ..... and you got to witness Phoebe's 1st swim too - so it was worth it! You guys are such a Blessing, we enjoyed your company soooo much! We will definitely have to do it again soooooooooon .....

Right, off to the Prayer Thread .....
