Hi ladies

Since our thread seems to have disappeared from Chat, this is a reminder that we are booked to meet on 7th July, but I am about to change it to 14 July, in North Oxford. I will phone him soon. Honest. I will also find out whether a bouncy castle fits in the hall.

We will aim vaguely for:

mid morning arrival, tea/coffee, play etc. There's a playground across the road, toys inside the hall, a river with ducks nearby.

12.00 lunch - baked potatoes, various fillings, salad. Possibly barbeque bitsnpieces too.

12.45 optional visit to nearby park with larger playground, duckpond, crazy golf, icecream shop (5 minutes drive)

15.00 prayer and praise session. There's a pub over the road (with a bouncy castle in the garden!)/long country walks/a busstop into the City nearby for any dhs who need to escape.

16.00 tea: sarnies, pasta salad, quiche, pizza

16.45 walk to the local river/ducks and/or depart when you like.

So far for the 14th we have

CaptainDippy, MrDippy, Sprog x 3 (aged 3, 2 and tiny),
Weirdbird, Moominpapa, Sprog x 2 (aged 4 and very smallish),
Mary, + 2 (aged 7 and 4),
Roseylea, + 2 (aged 3 and 6),
Mufti (possibly Mr Mufti ? at a distance - plus 1 aged 1)
NQSTM + 1 (aged 3. DS1 aged 7 may be around later!)

Also possibly
Zippidisooz, plus MrSlooz, Sprog x 3 (aged 10 and 3 and 3)
Fannyannie ? plus dh plus 3?
Peachyclair (plus Mr Peachey + 2 sprogs??)
CaptainCaveman (plus children - how old are they CCM?)
PandaG and Mr Panda
Mumtogusandalbie ? plus parents? plus gus and albie - you can possibly make it if we're changing to the 14th, can't you?!

NSFN (plus 4?) but probably too far. Do you want me to see if there might be accommodation with a local church family for the Friday night?

Plus anyone else who would like to sign up.

ooh it's soon, soon, soon. Has anyone heard from Weirdbird recently? I'll CAT her to see if she is still coming. Cargirl are you still around. Do post if there's anyone else still hoping to come along or who needs directions? (CCM I'll CAT you shortly.)

DutchOma - could there be a MN meetup without lemon drizzle cake? Mmmmm! Perhaps nut free cookies if you are able, just to avoid an accident, otherwise we can label them clearly. Did I mention DO that if you ask your first bus driver to let you off near to Boswells store, in the city centre rather than going all the way to the bus station, you will save yourself a 10 minute walk to get to the second bus stop.

CaptainDippy, MrDippy, Sprog x 3 (aged 3, 2 and tiny),
CaptainCaveman plus 1 (aged 3)
DutchOma
Mary + dh + 2 (aged 7 and 5),
Mufti plus 1 (aged 1)
NQGU + 2? (aged 7 and 3, unless they go with dh somewhere!)
Roseylea, + 2 (aged 3 and 6),
PandaG
Weirdbird, Moominpapa, Sprog x 2 (aged 4 and very smallish),
Worzella plus 1 (aged nearly 1)

Notquitegrownup · 04/07/2007 19:41

Hi Mary

If you want to do something in the cake/biscuit line, that would be great. I'll do fruit/yoghurts/icecream, but leave the baking up to you guys.

See you sooon.

Hi

Am still planning on coming, disasters withstanding, I got your message just been a bit busy so havnt been posting NQ

If you could email me a postcode and we will endeavour to arrive before lunch!

Superboobs has my email address, ohh its gonna be so hard not to call you that all day now

weirdbird · 04/07/2007 19:48

Ohhh and if people do make stuff with nuts in, please make sure I know as I have an allergy! But its not bad enough that i can't be in the same room so don't change plans for me.

Notquitegrownup · 04/07/2007 20:53

I've emailed you Weirdbird. Sorry, your dd1 is 5 now isn't she?

I make that 13 adults and 14 kiddies so far, more if Cargirl or others can join us. Great!

OP posts:
CarGirl · 04/07/2007 20:57

can you email me the details although I have just realised that dd has her pta bbq that evening so will have to decide if I can come for long enough to make it worth the journey?

Notquitegrownup · 04/07/2007 20:57

PS If the weather forecast looks bad, it would be worth bringing wellies and brollies. The ducks are only a 3 minute walk away, and/or we can take a quick ride on the bus in the afternoon, if there are any restless little people needing air.

' Course, we could just pray for sunshine!

Yep my DD1 is 5 now and my DD2 is now 6months!!! can you believe it!!

I was thinking, is it worth us making badges for us Mumsneetters not kids and hubbies but us with our mumsnet name and our real name on? Cause I feel like I know people but then I wont remember who is who on Mumsnet when we are there in person (is terrible with names at the best of times!)

Notquitegrownup · 05/07/2007 09:40

Great idea re badges. We'll definitely have them. I'll borrow some from work.

DutchOma · 05/07/2007 21:25

Cornish ginger fairings any better? Rather than met in the mouth almond biscuits?

Notquitegrownup · 06/07/2007 10:08

Ooh they all sound wonderful. Whichever you will enjoy making DO.

Hi Guys

Do the babies need anything getting ready? I have a steriliser, an old push chair which lies flat for a sleep - anything else?! (I've forgotten how to do babies!!!!

OP posts:
weirdbird · 06/07/2007 15:31

I will bring Hannahs play mat so she can have a roll around and apart from that will have her pushchair in the boot as well, so nope we are ok on the baby front!

I have my own copy of Mission Praise, are we still havinh a sing song?

mufti · 06/07/2007 15:56

hi, nqgu, yes ds has 2 hours sleep in the afternoon, so the lie flat pushchair may be useful, although, whether it will work in a strange place , with noise etc, well that we will have to see..

Notquitegrownup · 06/07/2007 19:34

Great ideas. I'll try to get a couple of playmats/clean blankets for the babies to roll on, and I'll see if I can borrow some Mission Praises too.

Less that a week to go!!!!

Gets excited

Notquitegrownup · 09/07/2007 10:10

Aw noooo - the miniature railway is only open on Sunday, not on Saturday. Huge apologies to all train fans next weekend.

I can borrow MP books from church - but it occurred to me that we might want some kiddies choruses too. I'm happy to print out the lyrics, if you want to email you favourites to me. The NQGU household will definitely want "Our God is a great big God"

Anyone seen a weather forecast for next weekend yet?

OP posts:
CaptainDippy · 11/07/2007 21:42

Boo! Soooooooooooooo excited!! Yey for "Our God is a Great Big God"!

Going to make a Banoffee Pie ..... Sussex delicacy ....... Yummmmmmmmmo!

Boo to the mini railway being shut - boo!

OMGosh - sooooooooo have to warn you - the disgusting, hunk of junk, fridge on wheels we're currently driving is NOT our car!! Our car is currently dead, at the garage, awaiting ressurection. Hoping it'll be ready by the weekend cos that "thing" parked in our driveway is just shocking.

Whoop!
