Hi ladies

Since our thread seems to have disappeared from Chat, this is a reminder that we are booked to meet on 7th July, but I am about to change it to 14 July, in North Oxford. I will phone him soon. Honest. I will also find out whether a bouncy castle fits in the hall.

We will aim vaguely for:

mid morning arrival, tea/coffee, play etc. There's a playground across the road, toys inside the hall, a river with ducks nearby.

12.00 lunch - baked potatoes, various fillings, salad. Possibly barbeque bitsnpieces too.

12.45 optional visit to nearby park with larger playground, duckpond, crazy golf, icecream shop (5 minutes drive)

15.00 prayer and praise session. There's a pub over the road (with a bouncy castle in the garden!)/long country walks/a busstop into the City nearby for any dhs who need to escape.

16.00 tea: sarnies, pasta salad, quiche, pizza

16.45 walk to the local river/ducks and/or depart when you like.

So far for the 14th we have

CaptainDippy, MrDippy, Sprog x 3 (aged 3, 2 and tiny),
Weirdbird, Moominpapa, Sprog x 2 (aged 4 and very smallish),
Mary, + 2 (aged 7 and 4),
Roseylea, + 2 (aged 3 and 6),
Mufti (possibly Mr Mufti ? at a distance - plus 1 aged 1)
NQSTM + 1 (aged 3. DS1 aged 7 may be around later!)

Also possibly
Zippidisooz, plus MrSlooz, Sprog x 3 (aged 10 and 3 and 3)
Fannyannie ? plus dh plus 3?
Peachyclair (plus Mr Peachey + 2 sprogs??)
CaptainCaveman (plus children - how old are they CCM?)
PandaG and Mr Panda
Mumtogusandalbie ? plus parents? plus gus and albie - you can possibly make it if we're changing to the 14th, can't you?!

NSFN (plus 4?) but probably too far. Do you want me to see if there might be accommodation with a local church family for the Friday night?

Plus anyone else who would like to sign up.

PandaG · 10/06/2007 19:50

Hello again

We'd do it all in a day, so no need for accommodation thanks We are Sheffield so is just about do-able in the day, and have stuff on on the Sunday.

DH wants the exact location of the meet so he can multimap it - if you don't want to broadcast to the www please email me - pandag at safe hypen mail dot net. Thanks!

mufti · 11/06/2007 09:57

nqgn , we need to know where we are going too.
and how much do you think you want towards food etc?

Notquitegrownup · 11/06/2007 10:06

Hi Mufti

I will CAT you with directions soon. We are nicely placed just off the A34, so fairly easy to get to. You should be 90 minutes tops (we are 45 or 50 mins from Swindon.)

I think I should be able to buy food in for lunch and tea and drinks for everyone for £5 per adult, kids go free. I am happy to collect contributions on the day - after all, I don't have to cough up for transport!

OP posts:
mufti · 11/06/2007 10:12

Looking forward to meeting you.

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 18/06/2007 10:49

Just the postcode for the place we are staying at would be good ..... Are we definitely staying with that family??

harrisey · 18/06/2007 11:02

Ladies I WISH I could come and meet you all toooooo!

Maybe we should arrange a Scottish Bible Bashers meetup!!!

DutchOma · 18/06/2007 11:16

I'll be coming on the bus from Northampton arriving at the bus station around 10.30. Will be in North Oxford before that and will need to know 'where to get off' (Sorry). And then instructions as to how to get to where you are. Do you want me to bring anything?

I'll make some goodies - an enormous choccie cake and various other cakes.

My dd is allergic to lots of things, NQGU - can I just check with you that there will be stuff she'll be able to eat? Jacket potato with beans and cheeses is probbaly safest.

Is there anything else you want me to do?

Notquitegrownup · 18/06/2007 16:45

Ooh an enormous chocolate cake. Mmmmmmmm. Thank you Rosie. (We might even get my dh to darken our doorstep, if there's chocolate cake there!)

I had remembered the nut allergy. I'll double check all the ingredients when I buy them (my goddaughter used to have an egg allergy, so I remember doing this well) and stick little labels on anything risky.

Which direction are you guys coming from, and I'll CAT you with directions.

CD - due to check with your family tonight, so I'll confirm shortly. I'm assuming that you will come straight to the meetup and then go on to them afterwards. Do you want to borrow a travel cot? I'll have it available at the meetup, incase anyone small needs a snooze!

OP posts:
CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 18/06/2007 19:40

Why was your msg deleted, NQGU?? Am intrigued!!

Not sure what our plans are tbh - need to chat to DH - Yes, probably come straight to Meet-Up & then to family's house after ..... Travel cot would be good. Although we'll bring ours as well cos we're gonna need two now!! Scary thought ......

I'll chat to DH & make sure I know exactly what we are doing .....

Is the big chocolate cake for meeeeeeeee!!!!?

Roseylea · 18/06/2007 19:52

Yes! Lots of candles on top! And lots of dc to help blow them out!

NQGU - my dd is allergic to eggs, wheat, soya and nuts. Ds is allergic to eggs. Sorry to be a pain! We can bring our own food if that's easier. I'll certainly bring some of dd's wheat free bread and I'll make some dd-friendly biscuit and flapjacks (she is okay with oats, thankfully!)

I have to make a batch of biscuits every Saturday to take to church so that dd doesn't miss out in Sunday school. I do enjoy baking though.

And hey actually I do a fabulous wheat and egg free orange cheesecake if you'd like to have that as a pud...

Roseylea · 18/06/2007 19:53

CD, if you could give NQGU my e-mail, that'd be great...thanks!

Notquitegrownup · 19/06/2007 09:54

Hi Rosey - I've CATted you re foody things.

CD - Deleted messages do look so mysterious, don't they? I was just having a silly moment, and posted directions for DutchOma on the thread, instead of CATting her.

I will try to borrow some nice big conference badges from work so that we can wear them with our MN names and real life names on too. Ooh prayers for good weather needed now, I think! And prayers for anyone who can't make it along too. I do hope that no-one is left feeling too sad that they can't be there.

OP posts:
CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 19/06/2007 11:59

Good idea baout the badges - I am confused already!! I have visions of you guys calling me "Dippy" the whole time & my DD's getting very confused!!

Notquitegrownup · 19/06/2007 12:43

Better than "Superboobs" all day, though!

MaryBS · 29/06/2007 07:31

Can you email me directions please? I'll be coming from the Cambridge direction, cross-country

suttonmb "at" talktalk "dot" net

I haven't looked at this thread for ages! MUST read it and catch up!

CaptainCaveman · 01/07/2007 20:59

This might sound silly, given how long we've been talking about a meet up...is it in Oxford?
If so, it should take me just shy of 2 hours so thats do-able. Yippee!

NQGU - just me and ds coming, he's 3.1 (and v cute if you want to check my profile!).

MaryBS · 02/07/2007 07:21

Yes, its in North Oxford - will be good to meet everyone

DutchOma · 03/07/2007 16:29

I am planning a lemon drizzle cake and almond cookies. Is that an acceptable offering? Or are nut free cookies better?
