At suejonez's
Friday 25th May
Fajita night

Everyone to bring whatever they want to drink (so feel free to bring a soft drink if you are driving)

Lets agree a list of what we need first before allocating out:

I'm going to try to make this easy and cut down on the cooking for all

lets assume 10 people

tortillas (3 each?)
cooked beef mince
cooked chicken
grated cheese
avocado for slicing?
guacamole
sour cream
salsa
fried onions
fried peppers
kidney beans in chili sauce (could be bought)
salad

Anything else?

Pudding

No problem. I can't believe I still haven't met Monti... can't wait!

Hey, is OXO coming to this shindig? I miss her.

pudding77 · 30/04/2007 16:41

No probs, I'll cook the beef with the taco seasoning and bring some jalapeno peppers for those who might want it a bit spicier!

Things we still need:
triple sec
bag of ice (so we don't use up all of Sue's)
veggie beans with chili
limes (or lime juice), if bringing fresh limes we probably need about 10.

suejonez · 01/05/2007 10:17

Don't worry about ice - I'll bag some up the day before and make some fresh.

OP posts:
Eleusis · 01/05/2007 10:20

Okay, was just thinking if we take all your ice and then someone wants ice for some other kind of rink it will all be gone. But then, maybe it's just Americans who put ice in all their drinks???

suejonez · 01/05/2007 10:52

I will prioritise ice for you Ele , but those mostly the alcohol drinkers drink wine or beer so no ice needed and soft drinks get a bit diluted wih piles of ice... however will do my best not to run out.

Eleusis · 01/05/2007 11:50

We still need a volunteer for triple sec? And what did we decide on paper/plastic cups plates, etc. so the Jonez house doesn't have too much cleaning to do.

stepfordwife · 01/05/2007 16:30

sue..of course my laptop is surgically attached to me. but you'd be amazed how technophobic lots of journos are...or, to be more accurate, how technophobic more "mature" journos are...to be even more accurate...ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! I'M STUPID. ("we don't say stupid, mummy..")

foxcub · 01/05/2007 17:20

Well, I am going to start a thread called "Fuck off, I can't do links!"

Paddlechick666 · 01/05/2007 17:28

Eleusis · 01/05/2007 18:04

Foxie, you have developed a real potty mouth since going on maternity leave. Just who do you hang out with????

Eleusis · 01/05/2007 18:07

Paddlechick666 · 01/05/2007 18:41
foxcub · 02/05/2007 08:37

Ele

I was inspired by a thread recently where a Mum said he son swore in the playground. She was instantly bombarded by very sanctimonious and po-faced mumsnetters, who claimed to be "shocked and stunned" by the word "bugger"...

so am swearing as much as poss atm

Paddlechick666 · 02/05/2007 08:42

i'm afraid to utter my favourite swear word combination coz i think even you lot might get a bit sanctimonious about it!

having said that, i wouldn't be putting on a T shirt LOL!

suejonez · 02/05/2007 10:02

Is "Oh Bugger" not acceptable then? Shit.

OP posts:
quokka · 02/05/2007 10:11

bugger was one of my fav words as a toddler, my parents couldn't get me to stop saying it for about a year

Paddlechick666 · 02/05/2007 10:17

far far far worse than that.

i haven't ever uttered it around you lot as i fear i might be ex-communicated.

i use it quite a lot at work tho.

there's an insight! i'm more worried about upsetting MN than I am about my job!
