Oh no Quokka - can't you appeal?

quokka · 04/05/2007 11:38

my ex produced one of peter andres albums and refused to ever work with him again he was such a twat.

Eleusis · 04/05/2007 11:39

What? It cost £700 to not get a place????

quokka · 04/05/2007 11:41

no its private so you just have to wait until a place comes up. People move in and out of S'pore alot so may not have to wait long. Just don't know if I should sort something else out and then move him to the aussie school when a place pops up, or do you think this would be disruptive?

quokka · 04/05/2007 11:42

ele we had to pay $2500 (sing dollars) its a non refundable fee.

quokka · 04/05/2007 11:43

just bought an apartment 5 min walk from the school

ComeOVeneer · 04/05/2007 11:44

So what was the £700 for? Seems a bit of a con to me, taking your money when they can't offer you a place

Paddlechick666 · 04/05/2007 11:48

bloody hell Quokka, you're on some spending spree girl!

i'd say sit tight on the school place, i reckon one will come up before he's due to start. or shortly afterwards, maybe just expect him to miss the first few weeks. surely easier to settle him once, altho a bit later than teh other kids, than twice with 2 sets of kids to get used to?

like you say, it's a fast turn-over. so bloody fast you just bought a furnished apartment sight unseen!

resepect!

quokka · 04/05/2007 11:49

Well it is meant to be the best school in sing so they can do what they want. If he got a place then I would have to pay another $2,100 then $1500 a term (2 days a week). Oh I feel sick!

foxcub · 04/05/2007 11:50

oh how annoying Quokka!

R U on a waiting list or something now for the school?

Any pics of the flat you could post so we can all have a nose ?

quokka · 04/05/2007 11:51

believe me this is money we don't have - dh always borrows more than we should. Will have to change this place to interest only mortgage if we manage to rent it out.

quokka · 04/05/2007 11:53

will try and download them from my phone - don't hold your breath never done it before.

Paddlechick666 · 04/05/2007 11:59

it'll rent and interest only mortgages aren't so bad. you can do part repay/part interest deals which are much more reasonable as well.

not that i want to stress you any further but i can't believe you'll be on your way in a month.

pudding77 · 04/05/2007 12:04

quokka, I think I said this before with someone else but if you do get an interest only mortgage make sure you get one where you can overpay as and when. We have one and if we have a bit of spare cash we fling it at the mortgage!

Now, can anyone tell me how I'm supposed to reorganise a website when the person I'm doing it for won't bother returning my calls or emails? Funnily enough, they've been ignoring me since I sent the first invoice in

Paddlechick666 · 04/05/2007 12:11

erm, spare cash? isn't that an oxy-moron LOL

pudding77 · 04/05/2007 12:11

it's an urban myth that it exists

quokka · 04/05/2007 12:15

I'm going to be smoking a packet of ciggies a day by the time we move. Good thing about the new apartment is we can move straight in.

Eleusis · 04/05/2007 12:31

Oh, so you are keeping the house here and renting it out? What's it like? Ohhhhh... and you have that lovely neighbr don't you? Bet you're sorry to be leaving her!

quokka · 04/05/2007 12:32

neighbours gone she moved to watford . Why do you wanna rent it ele?

Eleusis · 04/05/2007 12:35

Was just thinking that you are not a bad commute from my work and people are always moving to and from london (mostly Itallians, some Kazaks, etc.) Thought I might be able to say "hey I have a friend who renting x bed room whatever you have and could put you in touch if you are interested"

quokka · 04/05/2007 12:42

deffo ele. Its 3 bedrooms, large kitchen dining room, seperate lounge. Newly built garage, large yard. Tennis and social club behind house (cheap booze). Idealy want to rent it furnished but can do it unfurnished.

see u at 2 Steppy and maybe see you a bit later Sue?

mellow2 · 04/05/2007 13:11

Quokka,
That's outrageous! A non-refundable fee of S$2500! But I think the term fees are about the same for other private schools in M'sia and S'pore.

Are the employers still covering the school fees? If they are, then it wouldn't be so bad.

I've sent you an email about your aromatherapist friend.
