suejonez · 02/05/2007 11:43

MrsR - also busy thias weekend but happy to take a raincheck. Can't remember where you said it was MrsR - south coast somewhere? Have very happy memories of our caravan in West Wales.

MrsRecycle · 02/05/2007 11:48

About 5 miles from Rye on the East Sussex/Kent borders. A beautiful Sandy beach awaits me this weekend - if the weather holds out.

Oh next time dh is working weekends, I'll let you know and you can join me (might be able to fit you both in).

hi all...
sue -harping om about the katie price thread..just dispiriting women and mothers to boot (whatever that phrase means) rip each other to threads - shred threads?

also i can't stand the intellectual posturing, people just trying to be clever and not really thinking about the person.
i did something with katie (and peter.very hard pecs) the other week and she's just a normal mum, no saint but not the hate figure some of the posts are making her out to be.

after making one post, and getting a very patronising one back obviously aimed at me, ducked out because i can see how you can easily get drawn into these catfights as you WANT TO GET THE LAST WORD. but there is no debate with people with some rabid views, is there? really should have known better
foxie - ahh i remembers the days of bendy bus double-buggies

paddle: ton francais est tres, tres bien

after all, MY views are so fab, they're worth reading twice..

Paddlechick666 · 02/05/2007 12:26

pmsl @ Stepford! you do make I giggle!

get back on that thread and get the last word woman! they clearly need educatin and you're the one to do it!

MrsR, would seriously love to come down (shamelessly touting for an invite!), if you could squeeze us in.

Having said that, I can camp if there's any tent pitches available? Of course dd is far to delicate to camp so I'd have to leave her in with you - would that be ok

whispers>>>> don't tell anyone she was camping at 9 months in North Devon last chilly august going to bed in vest, babygro, fleecy footed trews, fleecy jacket and a beany plus blankets

MrsRecycle · 02/05/2007 12:31

No problems pc - she can share with dd1 who is an excellent "mummy"!!

Paddlechick666 · 02/05/2007 12:55

learning at the knee of a master methinks!

quokka, no prob at all, glad you like. your ILS looked a bit knackered LOL.

pudding77 · 02/05/2007 12:58

Come on for a quick MN moment, ds is fast asleep knackered after swimming this morning. He was so tired he was nodding off over lunch [aww]!

Paddle, how was your day yesterday?

pudding77 · 02/05/2007 12:58

MrsR - are you still coming over tomorrow?

sfxmum · 02/05/2007 13:00

have dentist at 3

mrsR are there nice B&B in Rye? we are looking for a sandy beach for this weekend, dh was thinking the isle of Wight and in good dh tradition he refuses to book anything just get up and go
not sure it is wise with a small child

suejonez · 02/05/2007 13:00

haven't taken DS swimming yet may try him in Dsis's pool this weekend if weather is warm and pool has warmed up enough.

suejonez · 02/05/2007 13:01

can't just get up an go to IOW - what if hte ferry is booked!

suejonez · 02/05/2007 13:02

are you seeing cute David? Tell him you are a friend - he knows most of my family!

ComeOVeneer · 02/05/2007 13:07

Hi all. Having a rotten day. I am being sued by a previous patient for supposed negligence. Trouble is I the times and dates and the work done wasn't done by me (coincides with 2 episodes of maternity leave) and haven't even seen him for over 2.5 years, but just got a copy of the note etc from my lawyer and they have my name on them (something fishy going on here, the work was carried out by 2 other dentists one of which is my old bosses son - nepotism (sp) anyone?). I now have to prove it wasn't me and . Of course the patient can remember who he saw and when (happens a lot with patients surprisingly).

suejonez · 02/05/2007 13:09

doesn't the practice keep records of who he saw then? I would have thought it would be fairly easy to prove you were on maternity leave. Not pleasant all the same.

sfxmum · 02/05/2007 13:10

COV sorry for that it is a pain, have dreadful memories of being taken to emplyoment tribunal for alleged racism treatment of a staff member - best of luck
btw my solicitor was useless

Sue - not sure who with. and IOW yes i usaully ignore dh and make some plans of my own

ComeOVeneer · 02/05/2007 13:14

The records are on computer and after I left on maternity leave they never changed the patient's details over to the new dentist so all the records that dentist has typed in have been under my name, thus appearing to be written by me, even though I would have been nursing an 8 week old baby at home at the time one of the problems occured. The other one is a hand written note and it isn't mine but am still being held accountable. It can all be proved and sorted, just a headache that I have to clear my name, and pi**ed of that my old boss hasn't stepped up to support me rather letting me be a scape goat in favour of his son.

suejonez · 02/05/2007 13:16

sorry Cov - not nice for you.

MrsRecycle · 02/05/2007 13:19

sfxmum - there are loads of B&B's in Rye but they're probably booked up. \link{http://www.theplacecambersands.co.uk/this} is close to where we are and is lovely, although a bit pricey - they might have a room free. Your dh sounds like mine always leaves it to the off-chance and then everything is full!

COV - sorry to hear this. A word of warning though don't assume that being on maternity leave is proof enough. I would counter-sue if I were you. My df has just been declared bankrupt based on forged documentation, he told the court it was forged but as he didn't counter-claim the forgery they ignored it and he lost the case. Luckily his house has been signed over to his wife so they're not homeless. Get all possible outcomes covered now.

MrsRecycle · 02/05/2007 13:20

oops - here

meant to preview

ComeOVeneer · 02/05/2007 13:23

Sorry Mrs R I am a bit dim (despite dh being a lawyer) what do you mean by counter-claim (claim what and claim against whom)?

Paddlechick666 · 02/05/2007 13:31

what a nightmare COV. maybe counter-sue for defamation of character?

pud, was really nice thanks. picnic and catching up with old friends. was a bit sad that the other 2 little girls know each other so well but dd joined in and friend's dd was calling her by name by the end.

funny to see them all so different but born within a month. my dd starting to make sense, friends' dd only really signing and not saying much and other friends' dd really speaking well.

interestingly, speaking dd has been in 4 day a week nursery nearly a year. my dd has been with other carers 4 days for 9 months and the other dd has only just started nursery but both parents WFH and there are teen siblings.

i think this proves that children will develop from their own blueprint regardless of the type of childcare you have.

MrsRecycle · 02/05/2007 13:32

He told the court the documents were forged and was meant to sue the claimants for forgery but he couldn't be bothered and just assumed that producing his original letterhead and his signature and showing these against the forged documents would be enough for the court. They through this argument out the and accepted the forged documents. Had he done a counter-claim for the forged document they would have considered it. What area does your dh specialise in? I really would get all your options covered. The judge at my df's case (was only a couple of weeks ago) summed up that he knew the claimants were trying it on but he still had to find for them but didn't award them the full amount of costs they were claiming. You may want to consider claiming against the dentist that was responsible at the time for defamation of character. Sorry I'm not a legal person just speaking by my df's awful experience.
