mishi1977 · 02/01/2005 22:36

hi all hope u have had a good holiday
was thinking about maybe going to the museum to see below exhibition on wed does anyone fancy joining me?
take care

If you like Beatrix Potter like us it is a real treat there is original artwork for the adults to look at and loads of interactive things for the children from Dominoes, puzzles colouring, video footage interactive computer screens, story telling and facepainting. We then had a great time visiting the rest of the museum they really make an effort for children. We saw a lovely show in the planatarium for the under 5's. It really is a great day out and it's free and on a rainy day there is an indoor picnic area so it really costs you nothing to go.

Date: 23rd October - 9th January open 10am - 5pm

FeastofStevenmom · 02/01/2005 22:37

am staying with friends atm and not sure if back tuesday or wednesday lol - but have been to exhibition twice, and its nice enough so would be happy to go again if I am back home.

FeastofStevenmom · 02/01/2005 22:38

unfortunately planetarium show is apparently not suitable for under 3s tho

mishi1977 · 02/01/2005 22:43

aww what a pity about planaterium (sp?)
do u think adam would be interested in the exhibition mts?

FeastofStevenmom · 02/01/2005 22:45

well - there's a storytelling session, there's some big blocks to play with, and a video of the ballet on, and an interactive map type thing of the area - so I think there is probably something there that could interest a but I think there would probably be more to interest a bit older kid.

mishi1977 · 02/01/2005 22:47

mmm will mull it over then...am also looking at other places to go such as blue planet aquarium etcnot necessarily for this week tho...lol

FeastofStevenmom · 02/01/2005 22:48

what about seacombe aquarium? you can get a combined day cruise ticket on the Mersey Ferries from Pier Head. i was just wondering about taking s to an aquarium this evening too!

mishi1977 · 02/01/2005 22:50

seacombe is good...just know a would be interested as he loves watching our little fish tank

FeastofStevenmom · 02/01/2005 22:52

seacombe would be a bit easier to get to from my POV - but to be fair there are buggy friendly buses from town to Cheshire Oaks these days so probably would be possiblish to do blue planet on public transport

mishi1977 · 02/01/2005 23:03

mm dont know if u can tell but am in a going out mood..lol

am also looking at some good places to go out for lunch

so far have got

Esteban
Marantos..both lark lane

ceasers palce
pizza hut..but one that always tends to be used..lol

just want to do some different things on a wed or thurs...grandmas is great but woiuld also like a change of scene or evenplaces to go for lunch after sticky fingers on a fri

take care

FeastofStevenmom · 03/01/2005 00:52

lark lane - get you at how trendy you're getting

in town - lewis cafe/john lewis/kimos on Mount Pleasant

Firecracker pub next to boots has a children's licence, as does wetherspoons near Lewis'. Cafe at Fact is okay as well

julezboo · 03/01/2005 10:51

oooo seacobe can we come lol matthew loves it there specially the pirates paradise and he loves the ferry too, id deffo be up for that

have a good day everyone im off to my mums today before she goes to tenerife lucky cow lol who's still up for a birthday lunch round about 21st, its a wed but we could possibly go weekend up to use.

FeastofStevenmom · 03/01/2005 10:58

right, looks like seacombe aquarium it is then.

how bout we do that one day next week?

lunch sounds good on 21st, Julez. where do you want to do it?

julezboo · 03/01/2005 22:01

im crap at picking so if someone wants to do honours not too pricey tho lol, would love seacombe next week hopefull ill be ok for money lol totally skint this week, not gonna make it to grandmas either sorry.

FeastofStevenmom · 04/01/2005 00:00

we're skint too - just waiting for our car to sell!!!

for lunch next week - probably the dreaded pizza hut would be good as quite cheap if you get the lunchtime buffet - kimos on mount pleasant is really cheap - £3 ish for alldaybreakfast inc coffee, or pizza (does loads of med stuff as well)

anyone else have any ideas?

leglepartridge · 04/01/2005 12:24

Happy new year all, hope you had a good new years eve whatever you all ended up doing. I'm back now in the land of the living and very glad to be back. Had a nice time, but holidays with 2 x under 3's are not easy. didn't get a chance to ski at all myself, so did wonder more than once, why am I here ??!! Wasn't a massive success with George in the ski school, the first thing they asked us was, "can he ski", errrr ... no, that's why we have brought him to the beginners ski school ???? The second question was "does he speak french" !!!!!!!!!!!!! NO of course he bloody doesn't he's not even 3 yet. So after the first day poor George was sobbing his heart out, with no kids to talk to, sitting in the freezing snow saying "please don't leave me here, this isn't fun" and I have to say I kind of agreed with him. He was moved back to the nursery, where they played with trucks in the snow, instead of wearing ski's and he decided that was much nicer. But all in all, it was okay. We decided we can't do it like that next year and will try and find a package with english teachers and english kids which will make it a lot nicer for george. I've just read this back and it sounds like I'm moaning, hope it doesn't come across like that too much, just thought it might make you smile.

Hopefully see some of you next week, I'm not around this one as its George's birthday on Thursday and we are taking him out for the day with some relatives. Have fun whatever you do, and catch up with you all soon x

Fastasleep · 04/01/2005 21:25

Hey! Damn I missed the chance for the Wednesday thing I guess have been extremely busy...but I think I'm getting cabin fever - Mishi if you can think of anything to do - anything at all on any day (except next monday or this friday ) then text me or post it here!! I'm in the going out mood too...

I'm meant to be trying a baby swimming session tomorrow at the ellergreen centre, but I'm actually really nervous now because I don't know what'll happen and I hate the thought of being embarrassed while wearing barely anything...I know, I'm weird...I wish I'd had the chance to come on earlier so that I could get out of it now! Doh.

Can't wait to see you guys again! I miss the company sooooo much! Pound shops and kirby are like my idea of an absolutey great afternoon out at the mo, never mind posh cafes! Lol

Fastasleep · 04/01/2005 21:29

Oooh julez, what day is your birthday? I remember it being in Jan? And do you want to go out with us? If so what's your favourite food - or would you rather be adventurous and get drunk in a bar!

Sorry your holiday didn't impress george legle, poor love! Hope he has a really nice birthday ooh, and while I'm babbling I won't be at Sticky Fingers because my health visitor's coming round!!!!! to do Theo's 6-9 month check, far too late mind... she's been off with post natal depression, again, for about a month... I know it's not her fault but I wish they'd get cover! stops babbling now

julezboo · 05/01/2005 10:24

fast yes a lunch out or an evening out would be great with u lot, my wonderful partner well should i say ex is currently looking for a place to live and will be gone by end of jan so dont think hes gonna take me out lol,im ok about it just feeling a bit empty towards him at the mo. if we were to go out of a night would have to be a weekend, and i cant go out for lunch the day on my borthday ( wed 21st jan lol) as matthew has an app at ormksirk hospital so its a bit of a trek, i like all kinds of food cept garlic n not too keen on pasta either lol.
