hi everyone. am going to the cinema at fact tomorrow morning so can't make it to granmas. not gonna be at sticky fingers this friday as its my last baby massage class (woohoo) but fridays will be free from now on - yaaaaaay!
was great to meet you yesterday, Abi! nice to meet someone as dedicated as me to looking at kids clothes and kids toys

fastasleep · 10/11/2004 23:49

Looking forward to seeing you on Fridays soon MTS

bron42 · 11/11/2004 13:51

My God! So much conversation I have missed. Must try and post more often!
Yes, night out for me leglebegle. Either Pod or La Bussola sounds great. The 26th is fine for me.
Will be at sticky fingers in the morning as long as DS is OK. Has woken up this morning with streaming cold and chest a little tight. Typical us as we are off to a cottage for the weekend as a birthday treat for me. Last time we went earlier in the year, both kids had streaming colds. Still, the break will be good and there's a log fire there and DD insists on taking hot chocolate and marshmallows. Sounds good to me. If I don't see you all in the morning, I will post early next week. DH will be taking DS to sticky fingers next week as I am away. Please look after him for me as he will be the solitary male!! Ha Ha

fastasleep · 11/11/2004 15:13

Happy Birthday Bron!!

yay everyones going for the night out!

mishi9123 · 11/11/2004 16:29

happy birthday bron and hope S gets better soon and you have a lovely weekend if we dont see you.

H@ad good time at grandmas again and enjoyed going shooping aswell and nabbing my bargain of 2 pair of timberland shoes for a for only £30...very happy indeed..

Today we were discussing kiddies xmas lunch and I wanted to discuss dates so that something can be arranged. I was thinking either Friday, 3rd, 10th or 17th of dec.
Thinking friday because as most of us go to sticky fingers we could arrange a lunch time thing afterwards...dont know how everyone feels about this...
Also I know a lot of the schools break up around 17th so if we try to do it before then it should be mainly for the little ones but if any of you have older kiddies you wish to bring let me know.

Phew long post this one..lol

Secondly I asked at grandmas about their dxmas parties but they didnt know a lot so dont hold out much hope of it being very well organised and also you need at least 10 little ones so was thinking of a brewsters or whacky warehouse. Am going to try and get some prices but if you could all let me know how many are coming then it would be much appreciated and if your little ones require a meal or just the parents who do.

Lastly...i know ive gone on enough but this is the last thing...lol
I mentioned doing a secret santa buy a gift for around £5 for each little one. Thought it would be nice to have this at the same time as the lunch out. The plan would be that everyone sends me names and age of kids who want to be involved then I send that to someone at random for them to pick a small gift for named tot and bring it wrapped to the lunch. Also while out with abi i spotted some reindeer antlers 3 for £1 so will get some when i know how many tots for lunch as an alternative to xmas cracker hats...lol
take care i have ranted enough if you manageds to get to the end u r very brave well done

fastasleep · 11/11/2004 22:24

Yay for shopping, antlers and secret santa! I'll be going, any date's good; Friday is a cool idea... I'll just be wanting lunch for myself looks obsessive, brings puree!

Just as long as I don't get Beth's name because I won't be able to help myself and will go to Monsoon or something!!

Great to get to know you a bit better Jayne (Beth's lovely) and always love a day out with Mishi, even if I (we?) do wear myself out and end up braindead! Mishi if you want me to do anything for the xmas thing I can help out if you'd like... you know in case you think of anything else cute to buy, love wrapping pressies lol (sounds like you don't need help though!)

Yikes I babbled more than Mishi, and she had important things to say!

fastasleep · 12/11/2004 11:48

Hope you feel better soon alliwannado!

leglebegle · 12/11/2004 15:08

Hi all, just a quick one to say that I haven't booked the 26th yet (v. pleased you are coming Bron now we have 6 again!) because I wanted to check out La scala menu which I am doing tomorrow morning. If its nicer than La bussola I will book it, either way the job's a good un by Monday.

As for the xmas kiddie lunch, top idea, love the secret santa. any of the dates is fine with me Mishi as my toddler is in nursery on fridays so i would leave him to go there to be honest and just bring the baby. so - no to the food for him, just food for me, he's a little boy called charlie and he's 4 months old (will be 5 months by then). wherever you choose to go I can make as I drive.

Have a great weekend everyone, I'm off to Manchester tomorrow for a day of shopping with my Mum, and lunch out. Have been given the entire day off by dh who is feeling guilty because he's going ski-ing week after next with work. I am making the most of it and intend to be at the shops when they open!

xx

MummyToSteven · 12/11/2004 15:13

hi everyone!

leglebegle - count me in (if you haven't already) for the 26th!

mishi - xmas meal sounds great, would be great if it could be somewhere easy to get to by bus/train. count me in for secret santa as well. s won't be needing any food. would prefer not 3rd

fastasleep · 12/11/2004 22:15

Who's doing what next week then? I've still got Mon/Tue free to do meet ups or any interesting things anyone knows of..

mishi9123 · 13/11/2004 17:20

hi all
update on xmas lunch..wondered how people would feel about farmer teds. Could go on thursday 9th instead of friday as they have a santa there.

http:/www.farmerteds.comevents.php

thats all info but santa arrives on sat 27th and is open pretty much every day apart from
30th nov 7th and 14th dec.
During xmas peroid they are also waving the adults entry fee. Just thought it was a bit different and oculd be good day out for little ones.
To meet santa is an extra £2 and he has his own workshop. Dont know if he gives a gift but as we are doing that anyway it doesnt really matter.
Let me know.
I know that MTS and Fast asleep dont drive but we can arrange lifts I am sure
take care

MummyToSteven · 13/11/2004 19:25

hi mishi - farmer teds is ok with me apart from the needing a lift to it issue!

MummyToSteven · 13/11/2004 19:26

Just thought owuld say hi
take care

alliwannado · 14/11/2004 13:39

Hello, wow so much happening, in just a few days, thanks fastasleep Im feeling much better, went to bed on friday afternoon and just crawled out of it today, very bad few days (severe migraine yet again) sorry for not saying goodbye at sticky fingers but I had to get out because I was going downhill fast..... really enjoyed meeting you again, I love these meet ups, keep me sane!
Count me in for everything Mishi, as long as the events don't fall on a Monday or Tuesday I'm fine........... also what ever I do/plan I have to be back by 3.30(latest) for school pick up so father teds, I'd have to leave by 2pm (allowing for traffic) times ticking away for the xmas events, buying a pressie etc, so we need to act fast on knowing who we are buying for, is Beth the only girl here?
Im free wed, thurs as usual so any meet-ups? can't wait for craft night, wow going out after dark, LOL sad life eh.

fastasleep · 14/11/2004 17:38

I hope this cold wears off before sticky fingers and the night out!

It's ok alli, I get migraines too and would have rushed off as well!

bron42 · 14/11/2004 20:22

Mishi - great idea about Father Teds for xmas lunch. Have never been. Can't do the 10th. Also up for the present idea. DS would need food during lunch please.
As you guessed never made it to sticky fingers Fri am, DS's cold got worse. Had a great w/e at the cottage despite his runny nose and slight temperature. Very stressful getting him to sleep in a travel cot!Aagh, we thought he was over this but spent considerable time Fri pm calming him down and getting him to sleep. Usually, he's put down and off he goes. Mishi - amazing that Adam is in a cot bed! What are the rest of you like for ages that they moved to a cot bed. DD was nearly 3 when she moved and DS seems very happy in his cot still. Alli, sorry to hear about your migraine. Hope you and fast asleep are feeling better.
Would be able to give a lift to someone for Father Teds as long as they have a car seat.
Can't wait for the craft evening Thurs. Another night off from learning welsh!! He, He. Anyone get caught up in the electricity loss last Thurs night? Again, missed my welsh class. Any excuse!
Will look forward to finding out where we are eating leglebegle later in the week.

fastasleep · 14/11/2004 22:29

Hey Mishi, missed your message before...stupid braindeadness! Well done for you and Adam, that's great that he slept in a bed, and didn't fall out lol, he's such a clever little man!

MummyToSteven · 14/11/2004 22:31

hi bron42. glad that your weekend away went well, and the cold didn't cramp your style too much.

mishi's little fella adam is a bright little thing, so not necessarily the best point of comparison. sat, crawled/walked dead early (mishi pays me to do her boasting for her )

i've defo got a car seat, for my sins, for anyone foolish enough to give us a lift down to father teds

mishi9123 · 14/11/2004 23:25

MTS your cheque is in post..lol

A is a little star but i am his mum so bound to be biased...lol..although going to bed tonight was a task as he decided he would rather play with the dogs so in the end had to ban them from upstairs so he got bored and went to sleep...lol.
I only moved him out of cot because he is a climber and was gathering toys/ bedding in a pile in a bid to escape. thought it safer to let him be free than hear a bang in the night...lol
oh well

mishi9123 · 14/11/2004 23:32

damn..forgot the reason for post..lol
Right so far am i right in list below for interest in Farmer ted?

If so can you email me so I can send out alternative name and age of tot. Gift of value around £5 and a xmas card from all on mumsnet would be cool.

fastasleep · 15/11/2004 08:01

Hmm... I wish infections weren't so....infectious! I wanna sit and moan to someone lol and I'm just so braindead that I don't know how to entertain Theo at all... it seems to have moved to my chest a bit, that might just be a morning thing or I might be getting a chest infection, if I do I guess you won't me wanting me at the craft night!!

Ooh don't worry MTS Steven wasn't infectious it was that bloomin' snotty child that jumped on me at sticky fingers, I heard him cough and splutter afterwards! As usual Theo seems to have no sign of anything, except he vomited three times yesterday...Ooh what a selfish post that was!

leglebegle · 15/11/2004 10:44

Mishi you forgot me for farmer teds! will be me and charlie aged 4 months x
