Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

Especially for shy mums in Derby...

I know there's an August Derby meet-up arranged, but how about a trip to Markeaton park for nomates and everyone who's volunteered to meet up with her (from the Relationships board)?

Bumpis?

clary · 16/07/2004 04:24

Ok I'm going to stick my neck out...how about the first day of the school hols (ie July 22)?? Most people probably NOT away then and it's a thurs so suits Ronniebaby; Hulababy as a teacher I assume that is good. I'm on holiday the following week, Discordia I infer the week after, Hulababy soon after that etc. Let's get it in while we're feeling fresh! I have nothign planned for that day except maybe a bit of work but cd take the afternoon off...what do you all think? or do people want to make it later?

discordia · 16/07/2004 10:52

I'm hoping for a dry day ... I'll have 3 kids with me (mine plus dd's friend) and can't possibly afford to take them all to Bumpi's.

MadameButterfly · 16/07/2004 11:05

I could do the 22nd.

Are we going to meet at Markeaton Park?

Easy · 16/07/2004 11:19

Would rather avoid Bumpis if poss, just cos some of us going there the following week.

Ronnie and I discovered the Brewsters pub, which is rather a nice one, big play area, we can get coffee/beer/wine/meal while the kids play if you like?

Hulababy · 16/07/2004 11:25

The Brewsters sounds good to me too. Is it far from the park?

Easy · 16/07/2004 11:54

Well it's near pride park, so yes, which is the downside I guess

discordia · 16/07/2004 14:29

22nd suits me. Always handy to have a plan for first day of hols! Somebody bump this on Monday?

Ronniebaby · 16/07/2004 15:30

Right Ladies I've had a look and the Brewsters Easy was talking about is only about 3 miles from Markeaton Park

Basically from Markeaton Park, head north up the A38, get onto the A52 into Derby, the go out of Derby on the A52, (possibly there will be signs for Pride Park), on the A52 there is a signpost directing you off the A52 for Pride Park, go past Pride Park, at the roundabout/island with (as in the road Royal way) on the left, take a left, at the island you can see Brewsters, go straight over to the next island/roundabout take a right and then right into the car park.

Otherwise, get off the M1 at junct 25, onto the A52 heading Derby bound, (about 6 miles) then take the junction signposted Pride Park and follow the above directions.

If you go onto Map24 and put int Postcode as DE24 8XL, it will locate brewsters Map24

22nd is good for me. It is DH's birthday so just have to be home for about 5ish.

Hulababy · 17/07/2004 13:11

OK; still hoping for good weather though as DD likes the paddling pool and train ride

discordia · 17/07/2004 17:13

Guess we scared nomates off???

discordia · 17/07/2004 21:46

Just had a look at a forecast and ATM it looks good for Thursday ... dry and warm with a nice breeze from the South.

MadameButterfly · 17/07/2004 21:54

Looks like the swimming cossies may be needed then

clary · 18/07/2004 00:46

Yes, let's make it Markeaton Park sometime on the Thurs afternoon then. Do we want to say from 2/2.30? (will that give you time to play and get home Hula?) Everyone can drift in as they choose. It's going to be sunny as it's warming up for my hol, so how about meeting by the paddling pool? Can have a splash about and then always play on the spider web etc, and the kids could have some fun as well hoho. We will probably bring a picnic tea but I think it's up to all of you if you want to do the same...? wow do we have a date?

(sorry to be so organising and bossy but it's in my nature )

Hulababy · 18/07/2004 00:54

I would rather it was earlier if possible, say lunchtime - maybe bring a picnic? It is a good 45-50 minute drive for me. But if that is no good for others, it does matter. I will just see what plans we have for the evening and see what I can do.

Ronniebaby · 18/07/2004 00:56

Well done Clary. Cheers for thinking of me 22nd is fine for me, nothing planned as DS isnt at pre-school then.

MB you wanna lift???, need I ask

Markeaton sounds great to me, Is WM or Easy in on this as I know they love to come.

I dont mind what time, I can make it earlier if need be, I'll just be getting MB on the way.

Looking forward to it, in my diary now, so no changing it

Hulababy · 18/07/2004 00:58

WM can't make this meet. Saw her earlier today and she has plans already - how dare she

Ronniebaby · 18/07/2004 00:58

Hula - posts clashed, I was thinking it would be a bit late for you.

Maybe we should see if we can make it about 1pm, bring a picnic as usual.

Ronniebaby · 18/07/2004 00:59

Just emailed Easy as she aint on MSN, told her to read it.

Ronniebaby · 18/07/2004 01:00

How dare WM have plans, just not good enough

Hulababy · 18/07/2004 01:00

1pm would be much better as I would have to leave about no later that 4-4:30 really, espeically as I will have to face the M1 at rush hour if any later.

MadameButterfly · 18/07/2004 01:02

Great Minds RB.

was just thinking of emailing Easy

Ronniebaby · 18/07/2004 01:03

Well I say fine by me, and MB will go with the flow.

Just need Discordia, Clary & bbensley to read this and agree

Easy · 18/07/2004 16:35

Right I've read this thanx everyone.

Yep, all being well we'll be there.
