Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

no dates yet but have a feeling its all going to move very quickly once contracts have been signed, will let you know when I do! Dh has a 6 month notice period with his current employer but I'm sure he can get out of it.

MrsBigD · 26/02/2007 13:49

Eleusis... ds got pox last year 2.5 weeks after dd started. His was very mild so here's hoping he built up immunity.

Foxie, how's it going? Any twinges yet?

I so miss being at work and having time for mn!

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 14:10

Hiya - This is my first official day of maternity leave (was on annual leave last week)and I've just spent the last hour trading Dr Who cards online

Quokka - !!

Listen you lot QC Birth Centre are only allowing DPs/birthing partners in atm - no kids under 14, 'cos of outbreak of vomiting bug. MY DCs weren't allowed in with me last week and our Mum's Birth Centre tour was cancelled.

(walks away muttering..."if they seriously think they're going to see me without my make up, they've got another thought coming...")

foxabout2pop · 26/02/2007 14:11

MrsD - nothing yet - think it will kick off Weds or Thurs!!

Muckypup · 26/02/2007 14:16

Hi

Sorry to but in. I'm a new mum in West London (W12) and my son Leo is a month old today. I'd love to meet up with some other mums (and babies) in the area. I'm loving motherhood and am looking forward to getting out and about now that I've recovered from the initial shock of it all. Does anyone know of any local groups that meet regularly? I'm not far from Chiswick, Hammersmith, Kensington or Acton.

pudding77 · 26/02/2007 14:19

Hi muckypup, welcome to the group! I'm in Brentford and have a 1yr old ds. There are a few of us who meet up during the week at places like the Lollipop club, childsplay cafe and Kew gardens.

We also have a night out coming up if you can join us. 8th March at Sam's brasserie in Chiswick.

Hi Muckypup - I'm in Kew and am due to give birth this week, so our LOs will be close in age

We'll probably be in the Lollipop club tomorrow lunchtime/afternoon (In London Welsh Rugby Ground, Kew Road)

Eleusis · 26/02/2007 14:27

Unless of course she happens to be at Queen Charlotte.

sfxmum · 26/02/2007 14:39

hi might do lollipop tomorrow if not raining too much

rather optimistically i went out today and bough a cool box and a picnic blanket

oh to be warm again

quokka · 26/02/2007 14:47

just spoke with nanou and shes better, just going through terrible work stress .

2Cute · 26/02/2007 14:49

Welcome muckypup Cool name!

Thanks for the n'mares advice. MrsR - That's sooo funny about your DH thinking DD's possessed, my DH is the same. He's adament that there's some spirit around frightening DS!

Foxi - Lollipop club it is then 2morrow, give me a bell if any changes, like going into labour, keep you away!!

Paddle - you sure you can't make it, would be good to catch up as haven't seen you in yonks. No worries about bringing your mate + baby to the party.

Sue, puds - I'll probably be at the Lollipop a bit earlier than 12 if you want to meet before.

pudding77 · 26/02/2007 14:52

If I'm going to Lollipop I'll probably get there around 11-ish

OP posts:
quokka · 26/02/2007 14:53

oops hi muckypup, I'm in Gunnersbury have ds1 2yrs and ds2 1yr.

quokka · 26/02/2007 14:54

2cute any pressie ideas????

2Cute · 26/02/2007 14:56

glad Nanou's better

MrsRecycle · 26/02/2007 14:57

Well ds has now been screaming for over an hour and I really don't think I can take much more of it. I'm thinking I need to get out with him so might make the lollipop club tomorrow as well. Either that or spend yet another day inside these four walls with a screaming baby.

Good news is dh might be home a day early as a job has got cancelled. Yipee, I can escape.

2Cute · 26/02/2007 14:59

ummm. I'm kinda stuck on ideas, I had a short list but everything on its been bought already. I'll try thinking of something and post back tonight but any suggestions would be really helpful.

quokka · 26/02/2007 15:03

what about what everyone did for ds2, a collection for something he might really want?

suejonez · 26/02/2007 15:04

hello everyone - crickey this thread moves fast at times. I am DS-less as my mum has him and I have decided not to do any work but just do something I can;t do with him around. So what am I doing? I'm on bloody MN!

Can;t do Lollipop tomorrow D is at childminder whilst I get some wrok done. I'm up for Wednesday or Thursday either Lollopop, Snakes and Ladders or Chiswick cafe or at a push Kew though would prefer to try somewhere new (new to me that is). D has moved from two to one naps it seems so will be around 9am-12 or 3-5pm.

Any takers?

Need to consider buying a bigger car - does anyone have a Ford Focus/C Max Vauxhall Meriva, VW Touran? Any views on them?

Cheap (ie second hand) and prctical ie not too big because I have to park the bugger but big enough to get all paraphanalia in.

quokka · 26/02/2007 15:04

mrsr sorry about ds, give me a yell if you need a hand with anything, not looking after neighbours girl this week.

suejonez · 26/02/2007 15:06

was going to ask 2Cute if you would prefer us to club together for something bigger or if he is at an age yet where they like to open loads of pressies?

quokka · 26/02/2007 15:06

Will be at Kew tomorrow arvo

2Cute · 26/02/2007 15:11

The big pressie he wants is an electric car (£180- £200) which my brother is collecting for, it might be an idea to put the money towards that if I can't find something else. As long as you're happy to do that.

Paddlechick666 · 26/02/2007 15:13

you lot don't hang about do ya!

Muckypup, welcome! I'm in Isleworth with dd 16 months. Hope to meet you soon and congrats on your ds.

2Cute, thanks for the extended invite. Very kind. Really don't think I can make Lollipop. Sorry. Deff doing Kew around 1ish and think both in one day is a bit much for me and dd!

Sue, we had a Ford Focus before the Landy. DH liked it more than me tbh. I bought the Bingo Bus on eBay - it was a great bargain too.

MrsR, big hugs ((((x)))). I know what that's like. Hope your DH hurries home and gives you a break.

Quokka, glad you've talked to Nanou. At least we know she's still alive!!

God I'm tired today, really can't be a*sed doing any work.......

Paddlechick666 · 26/02/2007 15:14
