Isn't it awful weather?!!! It's a proper trek back from Glastonbury - I hope your DH is ok. I went to Wetherby with a friend today and it has pi$$ed it down, I should've stayed at home

SausageButtyMonster · 25/06/2007 22:07

Have you seen sheffield???? OMG

Gingermonkey · 26/06/2007 07:50

My friend's boyf was stuck in Meadow Hell yesterday (he does work there though). Bloody nightmare. It's been awful over here too (well, in Wakey itself)

SausageButtyMonster · 26/06/2007 08:44

Are we doing Thursday this week?

Gingermonkey · 26/06/2007 08:48

yep.

Phoenix · 26/06/2007 09:26

U should have tried trying to drive round wakey emptying post boxes. Nightmare!!! I normally finish work at 6.50ish but last night it was 7.50 and i missed 3 boxes out or it would have been much later cos the traffic to get to them was terrible.

SausageButtyMonster · 26/06/2007 09:29

leapfrogs????

I didnt go out again after picking E up from playgroup so dont know what the roads were like in hudds.
We have pretty go drainage here as its a new estate

Gingermonkey · 26/06/2007 09:57

I thought of you yesterday Phoenix coz I saw some poor wet and miserable looking posty emptying boxes!!!!
Lepafrogs it is - are you going to make it this week Phoenix?

Phoenix · 26/06/2007 10:18

I don't think so I'm far too stressed out with my house lol. Hopefully by the end of this week it should all be done and I can come out and play again. Dh can decorate

Gingermonkey · 26/06/2007 10:19

poor you! Hopefully see you soon - destressed and chilled out!

my dd goes to school in Wrenthorpe. Wakey isn't a very exciting town (supposed to be a city but it's a poor excuse for one!!!!) but it's close to Leeds so you don't have to use it very often . Where are you moving from?

she's at silcoates (it's private, but a really lovely school - not snotty or stuck up at all). Leeds house prices are ridiculous - especially as all the nice areas are stuck next to really crappy ones...so you can live in a nice house and pay over the odds for it but you have to accept you'll get broken into by the peasants from down the way . I had a friend at Uni that lived in Oakwood (near Roundhay) and his parents had proper locks on every door downstairs and a fancy alarm system because they were getting broken into all the time. Seemed a little silly to me - I'd have just moved!!!! I used to live in Armley, my DH took DD to see where I used to live the other week, she wasn't impressed, couldn't figure out why the houses were attached all the way round - even at the back!!! (I was a poor graduate tho, I had to spend all my spare cash on fags and booze not rent!) Wakey is ok tho, and Wrenthorpe is really nice so I'm sure you'll be happy there (and we are all nice too so you shouldn't be lonely!)

sarahhal · 27/06/2007 18:36

This bloody summer meet up is going nowhere!! Please will someone be more assertive than me and decide a date?? Go on Ginger, you won't put up with any faffing around will you

Gingermonkey · 27/06/2007 19:21

I'll give it a shot > Wish me luck.....I may not be back in one piece!

Gingermonkey · 27/06/2007 19:30

sarah, I've asked them all to choose between 3 dates, a monday, a weds and a fri - and chosen Roundhay Park as the venue. Everyone has until monday to decide and whichever gets the most votes gets the go ahead. My vote was friday 3rd coz DD will be about too and I can prove to you all she does really exist

jolofee · 27/06/2007 21:52
