Hi there ! I live in Alexandra Palace area, I'm 27, new addition is 7 month old girl ! Fed up of unfriendly London attitudes - need a laugh and my baby needs some friends ! Any one out there?....

Ixel · 15/08/2004 12:53

Hello.. we're here! Would you like to join us going to the science Museum this week? If you dont fancy the trek, we often get together for coffee/park/lunch/chats.

Ilovemangos · 15/08/2004 18:12

Thanks Ixel ! Science museum - thats ambitious ! It sounds great - I've got a nine year old also (she'll love it!) - what day are you going on? (smile)

Ilovemangos · 15/08/2004 18:13

Used the wrong brackets !

littlema · 15/08/2004 19:26

Hi all, good to meet you too LD.
Science museum eh? I too will be taking t'bus methinks. Wednesday sounds good.LM x

Ixel · 16/08/2004 08:57

Ok. Wednesday for Science Museum! do we want to meet somewhere and travel en masse? Muswell Hill is good for all except the Golders Green contingent! What's best for you?

LD · 16/08/2004 14:09

OK wednesday it is then, I was going to stay in until Thursday to help DS get into a new 1 sleep a day routine but hopefully by then he may have it sorted. The early wakings are driving me mad hence why I am on mums net at 6am in the morning Ixel . I think I might meet you there as I find it quite easy to catch the tube from Bounds Green.

LD · 16/08/2004 14:12

Sorry Ilovemangoes just saw your message. I am also at alexandra park if you would like to meet up some time, DS is 1 and I have met a few local AP mums now with under 1's so would be nice to meet you if you are able to make Wed.
LDx

Ixel · 16/08/2004 16:17

Ok, Wednesday. LD, I know it'd be easier to get the tube, but I'm very scared of overbalancing on the escalator! Maybe I will be brave and try it if you're there. Its actually going to take me 3 buses to get there!I've done it once before. But how does that leave you Littlema? Can you meet us there? I know its harder with a smaller baby. We also need to pick a time!
BTW LD, ds is now waking at 6 instead of 5, which id wonderful, and doesn't have brekkie till 7!!! But that does mean an hour of him being a noisy kicking pest in bed with me!

LD · 16/08/2004 17:08

what time do you want to make it, maybe we should aim to meet up at 11.30am? how does that fit with everyone else?

Ixel · 16/08/2004 17:37

Is that at the museum for 11.30? That would be great, as ds should in theory have had his nap before setting off, and wont be hungry till about 12.30/1pm. How long will it take by tube? I have no knowledge of such things! Are we going to do packed lunch to save money? I dont know of any good cafes round there really, but there's the picnic room downstairs in the museum if its raining. Oooh, getting all excited now!

littlema · 16/08/2004 21:29

Sounds good but getting a bit nervous now. I've never taken ds on such a long bus trip! The tube is tricky at g.green, too many steps. Will let u know if i'm feeling brave on wednesday.
BTW is anyone interested in seeing the special baby screening of 'The Bourne Supremacy' on thursday at the Everyman in Hampstead? It's on at 12 and is £7.50, may need to book in advance.(www.everymancinema.com)

Ixel · 17/08/2004 11:04

Please come! BTW, I cant do the pics this week, as the carpet fitter is coming! Next week?

littlema · 17/08/2004 11:58

Farenheit 911 is on next week?! Not sure about that one...goodluck with the carpets. I'll be syching myself up for tomorrow!

Ixel · 17/08/2004 12:12

hey Littlema...still around? Which route are you going by bus? I'm still trying to decide what to do. Tube is quicker, but I'll have to pay! I have a free bus passs for the rest of the week, as dh lost his oyster card so bought a weekly, but can get it reimbursed!

Davros · 18/08/2004 21:45

SO? Did you go? How did it go? I'm agog!

Ilovemangos · 20/08/2004 08:28

Hi all ! How did it go? Sorry couldn't make it - thanks for your message LD - it'd be great to meet up - just realized that dd is 7 months and has never played with another baby ! Poor luv ! So let me know when and we'll be there xx

Ixel · 20/08/2004 15:26

oooh, never seen so much interest in our days out!!! It was just me and LD in the end, who forced me to be brave on the tube. Bearable, but I wouldn't make a habit of it! Anyway, science museum was good; a nice change fron hanging out in the park. Only down side was getting totally saturated walking home from LD's house, right through to the underwear!
Would love to do something next week, maybe Thurs or Fri?

Davros · 20/08/2004 16:02

If you do something on Thurs I might make it BUT I have a small window! DD finishes nap at about 12.30pm, then needs food AND I have to leave wherever I am by 3pm to be at home when DS gets in (don't collect him myself on Thurs).

littlema · 20/08/2004 17:50

Too much underwear information, but glad you had a good time! As u know I chickened out on the length of journey, v. brave of u to go on the tube.
Went to cinema with dh yesterday( he took a day off work) and saw Bourne Supremacy followed by a free showing of the new harry potter film!I love a good freebie!
Would love to meet up on thursday/friday.

Ixel · 21/08/2004 08:16

Looks like about 2pm on Thurs would be good for you Davros. How does that sound to everyone else? I cant promise yet though, as this week I've made a rash decision, and put the flat on the market!! So am househunting, and desperately hoping for a sale on this one, so I need to be around for viewings at short notice! Anyone want to buy it? Its on for only 174,950!

LD · 23/08/2004 09:47

Hi
Thursday at 2pm is fine for me too, how about Crocodile again at Muswell Hill, havent been there in ages. Or maybe Crouch End?

littlema · 23/08/2004 11:10

Hi,2pm thursday sounds good at the crocodile cafe(as we've never been there), but am open to crouch end too.

Ixel · 23/08/2004 14:27

Lets do Crocodile. Too lazy to go to Crouch End!

Davros · 25/08/2004 22:41

Its a distinct possibilit and I might have Maomao with me too! BUT, there's always a but, DS has gone back to school but they've cut the day short from finishing at 4pm to 3.30pm so I would have to leave earlier than I thought, could still manage an hour though. Where in MH exactly is Crocodile? I will be driving, I know MH quite well as I have a very good friend in Church Crescent....directions from there please!
