I'm moving to St. Leonards in Exeter, and have a 13 month old baby.
Would love to hear from anyone in the area to find out about baby groups or meeting up for a coffee...

all the best,

x

should I wear some fake moustache?

fennel · 01/02/2007 14:57

What a shame I am working at home today so can't time my trip down St David's hill to spot mumsnetters in hats and moustaches.

I meet several other mumsnetters regularly, in Real Life, some of them I met through mumsnet when I was new here last year.

franca70 · 01/02/2007 15:06

I should have been working today as well. Instead, I spent my time producing moustache of different colour for each day of the week.

Greensleeves · 01/02/2007 15:08

You see me accidentally quite often?

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 01/02/2007 15:08

yes, i'll be wearing my natural moustache and swearing at car alarm and kids within setting damn thing off. and some specs too, with a crack in them

god i look fetching

franca70 · 01/02/2007 15:11

It's nearly time Ivelostmy...
what are we going to do if we really recognize each other?? I'm shy!

fennel · 01/02/2007 15:21

I go past you when you're dropping ds1 off in the mornings sometimes.....

Greensleeves · 01/02/2007 15:29

Why do I never notice? Do you skulk in your cycle helmet disguise?

fennel · 01/02/2007 15:31

You are busy engaging with your children in Proper Mother Style . I am whizzing past as the lights change at the junction.

fennel · 01/02/2007 15:31

is everyone on the thread feeling a bit paranoid now about being Watched or Spotted by other mumsnetters?

Greensleeves · 01/02/2007 15:32

God, how embarassing, I wonder how many times i have been clocked snaping and barking at the kids because my laziness has made us all late

fennel · 01/02/2007 15:34

No, no, you are the model of a perfect family out walking.

I would yell a greeting as I go past but I worry that might be a bit nerve-wracking for you. also it's a busy noisy street corner.

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 01/02/2007 15:49

franca, i missed you....

but did YOU miss ME?

will look out for you tomorrow...
god its like a blind date!

franca70 · 01/02/2007 16:29

yes, I missed you.... damn!
maybe tomorrow???
I'm quite impressed by fennel's cycling. (and feeling now even guiltier for my lack of exercise).
don't feel that paranoid, really. I'm actually looking forward to meeting you all, now

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 01/02/2007 16:38

me too, i'm rubbish on a bike- tried to cyle to double locks last summer, no may even have been summer before last and i was worse than useless- basically couldnt balance, steer, pedal all at the same time. i need stabilisers or a trike. or even my car. i know my limitations.
yep maybe see you tomorrow- i wait in car til its absolutely time for ds1 to come out otherwise los will kill each other whilst am out waiting for him. i usually sit in car just in entrance to haldon road. if i see a tallish woman in a hat gesticulating i'll beep the horn!

Coco4 · 01/02/2007 16:46

Hii Baysmum, you must think im mad! I thought maybe it was you and ds because the toddler fitted the description of your ds and the woman was friendly and trendy! and then i was driveing around st L and spotted them again walking down St L rd, which is now where i will be moving. I wasnt stalking, i promise!

Baysmum · 01/02/2007 16:57

franca70 · 01/02/2007 17:03

Coco4 · 01/02/2007 17:08

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 01/02/2007 17:22

coco, what do you want to move from totnes for? i LOVE totnes and would love to live there. think there may be a frustrated hippy lurking just under the surface!

Coco4 · 01/02/2007 17:34

Ivelostmy, i love totnes also, butttttttt moving from London to Totnes was a bit extreme, i need a little bit of city life, and also theres not much youth culture for my 13yr old dd, i think Exeter will suit all our needs

OP posts:
ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 01/02/2007 18:38

mmmm i can see that must have been a bit of a shock! it is very laid back down there and dont imagine theres much of a social thing going on down there. mind you isnt the social eve of choice for any 13 yo loitering outside in the street? they can do that anywhere!!!
or maybe thats just where we live (my dear friend thinks its 'terribly rough' but then she lives in Dunsford which is posh beyond belief!

Coco4 · 01/02/2007 18:58

Not my dd, shes into dance, drama, and music, introduced her at a young age, for that very reason, to keep her off the streets, shes quite passionate about her hobbies, but if she did hang out on the streets, i would tell her to busk!!
