I'm moving to St. Leonards in Exeter, and have a 13 month old baby.
Would love to hear from anyone in the area to find out about baby groups or meeting up for a coffee...

all the best,

x

franca70 · 09/02/2007 10:10

to the shops.

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 09/02/2007 10:14

so is my house but frankly i cant be arsed. ds2 still in pjs too. what squalor!!!!!

fennel · 09/02/2007 10:18

My house is clean! (well, clean-ish, more than usual) This is really quite unusual so I have to mention it.

Essbee shame about ds and the club. can you bribe him?

fennel, did you clean for the new cleaner?

fennel · 09/02/2007 10:27

maybe if he met someone who went- perhas Ivelostmyboobsboohoo's son, and got on with him? It sounds as though it might be a good place for you all to get out to.

fennel · 09/02/2007 10:28

Franca that was part of it.

I phoned a cleaner, she said 12 an hour was the going rate. sounds a bit high so I asked around and heard that £7 or so is more normal. hmmm. am dithering.

but we've nearly bought a boat and nearly joined the yacht club - prioritising the important things in life, and resigning myself to cleanerless mess.

Essbee you could leave dd to play at ours while you took him alone if that might entice him?

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 09/02/2007 10:31

essbee i find a bit of man-handling works! or tricking him!!!
do you have a crealy membership by any chance? if so perhaps my ds could meet your ds first before you come along? good thinking fennel!

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 09/02/2007 10:32

i'm going to have to change my nickname- have become ivelost and boohoo!!!!

franca70 · 09/02/2007 10:41

no, don't change it, we can call you boobs, if you prefer!

franca70 · 09/02/2007 10:42

12 pounds an hour?????
well done on the boat

fennel · 09/02/2007 10:50

Well, exactly, franca. Not wanting to diddle some cleaner out of what they're worth but that seems quite high.

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 09/02/2007 11:04

LOL at calling me boobs!!!!!! makes me sound like i have J cup jubblies!

ivelostmyboobsboohoo · 09/02/2007 11:05

fennel- was that price through a cleaning agency? it would be cheaper to just advertise for one state the price you are willing to pay and make sure you check out references

fennel · 09/02/2007 11:15

That was just someone advertising in the local post office.

agencies used to be about £8 an hour in Manchester, maybe I should ring round some.
