Paddlechick666 · 18/12/2006 13:30

foxie have a look at this one

any more takers on the almaty dvd express? point taken that a flight might be cheaper! i checked to Vilnius as i've got this week off now and it was £465 just for me so dd would be extra!

sorry to hear about the contract frustration CoV, must be soooo stressful!

uwila · 18/12/2006 13:37

I can put in a tenner and some good british telly (Fawlty Towers, etc.) Does anyone know what sort of things Sue prefers... Possibly an online bridge game? (yuk -- boring!)

uwila · 18/12/2006 13:39

Oh that's great Paddle. Finger crossed for the Paddlechick (and Paddlebloke) Christmas. Shall we all keep our ears open for some guy wandering around aimlessly calling out "Mumsnet!?"

COV... you will get there. It wasn't that damned little poodle was it?

PortAndLemonaid · 18/12/2006 13:42

Will put in money and potentially Stuff to the Almaty Express. Is someone in particular organising it or are we just knocking the idea around at the moment?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 18/12/2006 13:43

I can put a tenner in

Quokka, no, just for e-mailing, mumsnetting and online shopping!

Paddle, if I just bought the processor, could I deffo plug my keyboard and monitor into it?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 18/12/2006 13:44

Paddle - glad you had a great weekend with DH and are spending Chrimbo together [loved up emoticon]. Thats brilliant news

PortAndLemonaid · 18/12/2006 13:45

Have thought -- can record telly to DVD at the moment (ooh, could even snag an episode of the Archers tomorrow if we can wait that long).

ComeOyeFaithfulVeneer · 18/12/2006 13:50

It is the dog that is still holding us up. If we can exchange by the end of today we move at the end of this week, otherwise it is all on hold until the new year, but we need to be moved before the weekend of the 6th/7th as it is dd's birthday party on the saturday (organised up here with her current school friends) so we can't move that day. Plus she is due to start her new school (which I have now organised) on the 8th so we really want to be in 3rd/4th Jan.

If it is a "no" for today at least I will be able to put the christmas tree up (although as we emptied the loft into the dinning room at the weekend in anticipation of moving this week, because the movers won't do it for health and safety reasons) I have no idea where we can put it. My house is in utter chaos.

PortAndLemonaid · 18/12/2006 13:50

Also somewhere I have a bridge computer game that I once bought in a fit of misplaced enthusiasm. Now to see if I can actually find it...

PortAndLemonaid · 18/12/2006 13:52

What about burning etexts from Project Gutenburg to CD?
I have some I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue CDs, which might be Sue's thing...

uwila · 18/12/2006 13:58

What is this crap ? I mean who does Quokka she think she is????

Paddlechick666 · 18/12/2006 14:12

well, firstly, we'd best be prepared to barricade qokka's house so she can't go!

secondly, yes Foxie am almost 100% sure you can just buy a new box and plug what you've already got in terms of keyboard, monitor etc. very good idea, didn't think of that!

okay Almaty, i know i started this but i'm out all day Weds which is when the parcel really needs to be shipped.

anyone who can volunteer to co-ordinate? i'm happy to stick a tenner so we've got nearly half already yeah?

CoV, suggest small lead pellet in dogs' ear. should resolve your issues immediately. alternatively see Hoxo's post re: french dogs and hors d'oevres and EAT the offending animal!

good luck, stay sane!

ps: thanks for all good vibes re: dh. just hope it continues................

PortAndLemonaid · 18/12/2006 14:23

MrsBojangles · 18/12/2006 14:31

2quokkasandapeartree · 18/12/2006 15:07

Well all I can say is that its a big maybe for now. I have to convince dh is the right thing to do. It will only be for a year or two, but dh parents are a bit of a mess at the mo so I think thats whats stopping dh from saying yes

trying2bgood · 18/12/2006 15:17

quokka - are you leaving? Noooo, only just met you! And I was hoping to get my free cup of tea over your garden fence once dds's tennis starts up again as well as one of those nice biccies!

2quokkasandapeartree · 18/12/2006 15:21

Oh its nice to be wanted! Don't worry its a real long shot, so you can still have your tea .

uwila · 18/12/2006 15:54

JackieNoHoHo · 18/12/2006 15:56

Portandlemonaid mentioned the parcel for Sue on the BigMoFos thread - I'd love to chip in a tenner - can someone let me know who to send it to, please. I've got books I could send, but as I'm in Oxfordshire, might it be more sensible for me just to donate money in this instance?

Nanou1 · 18/12/2006 15:56

sorry can't remember.... you ok?

PortAndLemonaid · 18/12/2006 16:02

So looking like a flyer (if no one else comes forward, I'll cover the extra £20 or so (although am a bit skint at the moment so would very much like other people to come forward...) IF (a) someone can ship it (b) we have an address to ship it to.
