Evening all, how are you all? First chance I've had in the last couple of days to get back onto MN! I've been nagging dh to get the wireless network set up again so at least I can use the laptop then!

I've not read the last few threads I'm afraid! How did it go last night Paddle? Or is it tonight?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 11/12/2006 19:43

ROFL - glad I'm not the only dotty one around here!

Paddle I'm sure you've got better things on your mind tonight but just to let you know that my PC is a bit better now. Deleted the original norton package and that improved things immensely. Will try and download and alternative security package from the net and then delete the norton 2000, as I think it takes up too much memory or something. Defragmented C drive again and did a massive cull of "stuff" hat's been on there for yonks. Will upgrade BT as well

Listen Paddle, I hope it goes really well tonight, we're all thinking of you. Let us know tomorrow how it went.

mellowchristmas · 12/12/2006 00:03

Oxo,

Have you checked the Christmas Appeal thank you thread? I think there might be a message for you from Munz 8 December, 2006 10:35:47 AM

Here's the link .

MrsBojangles · 12/12/2006 09:02

still amongst the living. Dh was working from home yesterday so I didn't have access to the pc. Was sleeping most of the day anyhow thanks to being absolutely shattered after another one of 'those' nights with ds and also coming down with chesty cough... will it never end??? argh Xmas Angry

I've just posted some energy saving ideas for cooking on my blog. Do you have any to share? My blog's here. .

I've also started a thread to collect eco-tips from MNetters for my blog. Please post any other tips you might have here.

TIA

Nanou1 · 12/12/2006 10:12

Paddlechick666 · 12/12/2006 10:38

morning everyone!

[slightlyhungoverandseedyemoticon]

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, we had a fabulous evening thank you everyone.

We had kir royale whilst bathing dd and she was tucked up by 7:20. Nanny arrived at 8pm and we had more kir royale together.

Off to Fat Boys for dinner and another bottle of champagne then we wandered over to Smolenskies for a cocktail before cabbing home.

We talked and talked and it was great. Quite emotional but we really connected again and I really hope that we have turned a corner and things will continue to improve.

Thanks for all your good wishes.

Foxie, did you de-install N2005 and re-install N2000? Try and get a copy of Macafee, it might run better. Download ZoneAlarm too.

DD just took a piece of Stilton out of the fridge and took a chunk out of it. She quite liked it too!

Thinking about a trip to St Marg's pottery cafe this arvo. Anyone been?

snowfallatxmasmum · 12/12/2006 11:17

quiet day here

mellowchristmas · 12/12/2006 11:26

Glad to hear it went well PC.

Nanou,

This was the Christmas Appeal.

MrsBojangles · 12/12/2006 11:34

PC glad to hear the evening went well

question to everybody who's lo's have already had the vomiting bug... how long did it last? dd started last night and can't keep anything down poor thing.

OP posts:
Nanou1 · 12/12/2006 11:53

Hi Mrs Bo. sorry can't help. so far so good for my dd - touch wood! guess you did not have a good night then? hope someone can help soon

hoxohoxohoxo · 12/12/2006 12:06

paddle: I live 1 minute away from Pottery cafe - so you MUST come to ours to play after
I'm babysitting this afternoon too so there will be more kids than adults so we will be out numbered!!!

also, you can park at ours if you are driving - save the extortionate parking fees here

snowfallatxmasmum · 12/12/2006 12:14

mrsB dd only had that once and it started just after her bath, she vomited even water, this from about 6.30 pm until about 4am, she slept in between, the next couple of days were a bit difficult but no vomiting i was very careful about what she ate, best of luck it was pretty awful because we all ended up getting the bug

trying2bgood · 12/12/2006 13:20

Mrsb - my dd2 had a vomiting bug and it lasted about 3-4 days on and off. Dr could not give her anything just said the usual keep her hydrated, little water often. Hope she gets better soon.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 12/12/2006 14:34

ooh we haven't had the vomiting bug yet. We've had the sore throat one, which lasts about 48 hours, with a cough which hangs on.

Paddle glad you had a good time last night - its sounds very productive and just how things whould be. How did you both leave it?

I've still got Norton 2005 on there as I can't work out how to uninstall it!!! Once I've figured that one, I can download one of the others. But the virus problem has completely gone now thanks to your expertise

Did everyone see Sues update - she's officially a mummy now that the appeal period has passed - Daniel is her son forever!!! :

Nanou1 · 12/12/2006 14:44

Hi Foxie! nice to see you. great news re sue - i reckon the best Xmas pressie this year!!!!

uwila · 12/12/2006 15:45

Just read her update about blubbing and practically blubbed myself. Must remember to read that stuff at home, not at work.

Nanou1 · 12/12/2006 15:52

i know what you mean! best get on with some work...

Paddlechick666 · 12/12/2006 18:34

He's away on business the following week but we've agreed Christmas Eve and Morning together then I'll head to my mother's and he's welcome to join or not according to how he's doing.

;-)

hoxohoxohoxo · 12/12/2006 19:13

our pleasure paddle
looking forward to tmrw. house is like a bomb hit it, but have decided to leave it and phone for chinese. dh is out tonight, kids sleeping (touching wood!) and am ready for some slob time

harktheheraldfoxessing · 12/12/2006 20:34

Paddle - that's brilliant. Sounds as though everything is on track and going very well .

Nanou/Ulwila IKWYM about reading MN at work . I find the same thing with the news, one minutes I'm having a sneaky look at the news on my PC, next minute, my eyes are welling up with something that's happened.

Anyone know how to uninstall fecking Norton security from my PC? I tried going into progs then remove and it won't remove. Opened up the Norton and can't find any instructions how to get rid of the blooming thing. ?

I need to get nerdy!!

Paddlechick666 · 12/12/2006 20:59

foxie, go to the Programs folder and find the Norton folder and right click on it and delete.

you're running windows95 i think (really need to upgrade to xp m'dear!) but if you right click on start I think that still takes you to Explore and you can go from there.............

hth

hoxo, dd was very late to bed at 8:15pm little madam. Grandma spoils her! had a healthy but way too small supper so now stuffing brie and grapes.

very much looking forward to tomorrow too.

;-)

ps: off to see Su's blog now but am sooo tired! didn't go to bed till midnight and don't even ask when i got to sleep !!

2Cute · 12/12/2006 21:45

Paddle - Really glad you had a good night. Here's hoping it's the first of many more to come!

We're going to Kew this week as well as its open til late Friday and Sat. Haven't decided which of the two days yet as its dependant on whether DH finishes work early enough on Friday.

Does anyone have a good recipe for eggless fairy cakes?

snowfallatxmasmum · 12/12/2006 22:17

hi all

i feel like i had a particularly productive day sorting out outstanding paperwork and keeping up with my study timetable.
