Manchester Maniacs ride again?

Gumdrop · 04/05/2004 12:48

OK, at the moment I can't oranise the proverbial in a brewery, but at least I can get the ball rolling.

Any other maniacs out there, and want a get together in May / early June?

I have seen the cows though. I was in Manchester on Saturday night watching Saturday Night Fever at the Palace. They're everywhere and some are a bit scary.

Gumdrop · 16/06/2004 13:55

Oh just general "I got up the career ladder by sacrificing my life, and I'm damn sure you're not going to catch me up when you've had the temerity to breed" type garbage.

But today, I feel good and don't give a flying fig!

that's a shame Flip I was looking forward to meeting you - I think our DSs are similar ages - perhaps you fancy meeting up some other time? I think we emailed about FF a while ago?

Flip · 16/06/2004 14:22

I'd really like to come and meet everyone. I've already met Janh and marthamoo. I was looking forward to this but I didn't realise it clashed with my motherly duty of helping with the school summer fair. Depending on what time you're meeting till I might be able to come along after. The school fair finishes at four, give or take an hour for tidying up and I'll get dh to drop me off minus two tired kids.

Janh · 16/06/2004 17:05

Hope you can make it Flip, I bet we will still be there!

Gumdrop, she sounds like a warm and wonderful human being and I'm sure she is a delight to work with.

geordiegirl · 17/06/2004 15:08

sorry guys if is Sat 26th can't come, am away with family, been arranged a while. Would love to have come so if a second time/ date is looked at please count me in- will be there in spirit (have a few for me!!)

Gumdrop · 18/06/2004 13:47

OK - We have a date / we have a place

What time? I've no strong feelings either way.....she said indecisively.........

moniker · 18/06/2004 14:00

How about mid afteroon? Then maybe we could go on to the early evenng or even later!!?? I must remember to sort out a babysitter actually!

ninja · 19/06/2004 22:15

Damn - I knew the date sounded familiar - I've got to take a group of kids to a competition in Birmingham so I won't be there. Enjoy the cows!

Gumdrop · 23/06/2004 13:52

OK - how about 3 / 3.30?

OP posts:
Flip · 23/06/2004 14:11

I'll be there around five, hopefully. The Mark Addy is near the IMAX isn't it? Dh has said he'll drop me off after the Summer fair. So I'll probably look a scruff and down a couple of pints before I speak to anyone.

Rhubarb · 23/06/2004 22:49

I'm hoping I can make it. Got 'guests' over the weekend and we are supposed to be shopping for a new car to tow a caravan. I shall consult with dh and see if I can get a couple of hours out.

Janh · 23/06/2004 23:09

Hi, Rhubarb! PLEASE don't bring the guests . Maybe we can join forces again, I will ring you!
Am on DH's laptop tonight, no mouse, one of those button thingies, painfully sloooooooow.

moniker · 25/06/2004 09:22

Hi. I'll be there about 4ish hopefully. I hope we are all thinking of the same pub - here's some
mark addy info ! just in case.

Our web server is going down for maintenance soon so will have to check we are all still meeting up in the morning. Bye!

Rhubarb · 25/06/2004 09:46

Janh, I'm sure they'd love to meet you!
Will phone you today. Might only be able to stay for a couple of hours or so, is everyone eating?
Are we all just meeting at the bar again?

Janh · 25/06/2004 19:39

BUMP! ANY MORE FOR THE SKYLARK?

At the moment it's looking like Gumdrop, Moniker, Flip, Rhubarb and me - at about 4pm (Flip a bit later?) - ninja, geordiegirl and GenT can't make it

Oliveoil? Roisin? mummysurfer? granarybeck? Tinker? marthamoo? katierocket? Apols if I've missed anyone!

Flip · 25/06/2004 19:45

I don't think I know where it is Jan. Do you?

Janh · 25/06/2004 19:53

Hi, Flip! No, I don't know either but moniker's link below has a multimap bit and DH is driving me and Rhubarb in (he is going to take our Russian kid on to somewhere exciting for a bit!).

Does the map help at all or do you need specific directions from someone who does know where it is?

Janh · 25/06/2004 19:55

NB Everybody, this will be Rhubarb's positively last appearance before she vanishes to France so an opportunity not to be missed!

Flip · 25/06/2004 19:58

I thought I knew where it was until I realised it was in Salford!!!! So lots of ???? now. I was trying to find my bearings on multimap and didn't manage it. I'll see if dh will have a look when he's finished cleaning ds1 up (5) who's just pooed in his pants for the second time this week.

Janh · 25/06/2004 19:59

Flip

Janh · 25/06/2004 20:08

Is it in Salford? It's not far off Deansgate (Quay St/John Dalton St) so pretty central?

mummysurfer · 25/06/2004 20:11

directions from St Peter's Way to Mark Addy

mummysurfer · 25/06/2004 20:13

hope you all ahve a good time.

Janh · 25/06/2004 20:48

Sorry to miss you, mummysurfer - hope you'll be able to make the next one! (Have a lovely hol anyway )
