OK, at the moment I can't oranise the proverbial in a brewery, but at least I can get the ball rolling.

Any other maniacs out there, and want a get together in May / early June?

I'd like to try and come too if it's alright with you guys, as a fairly recent convert to MN. I live not too far from Manchester (Huddersfied) but as I'm not greatly familiar with the places to hang out just tell me the place and date (when we've all decided)and I'll try and join you.

Hi Geordiegirl - I'm in Halifax, but work in Manchester, and am originally from B'ham so am a sort of Manc / tyke / brummie hybrid!

If you do decide to come, do you want a lift?

Hi Gumdrop, what a kind offer. thankyou- if times and dates turn out to be possible I'll take you up on that offer. I was planning on taking the train as it's quite regular Hudds to Manch. and I always get lost in the centre of Manchester when I'm driving, but as you do the journey ofet you obviously know your way round. I'm not a local girl (as my password probably suggests)but it's good to hear another MN lives just "over T'hill" (as they say round here) although locals seem to think Halifax is the other side of the world!!
When venue and date are settled we'll talk arrangements. thanks again.

geordiegirl, that is so funny. we moved literally over th'ill into huddersfield from about ten miles away but people there thought we'd moved from another planet. very friendly though!

Know I should know this, but is the Mark Addy at the end of Deansgate closer to the Science museum bit, or at the other end by M&S?

I've forgotten where M&S is now! The one I'm thinking of is down Deansgate walking towards Victoria Station, until you get to the canal. There's a kind of arty estate there with some funny kind of white bridge thing in the middle.

Rhubarb and I were talking about this today, she is still up for it, I was thinking nobody else was because it had gone so quiet but with her and flip, moniker and gumdrop and probably me too I think we have a meet-up!

Then we can have a quick count up of numbers and if anyone has the name of that pub, I'll phone ahead to see if kids are ok or not. Can we also just say if anyone is bringing their kids? And what time would suit people?

Once I have the details I'll plead my case to dh to see if I can persuade him to have the boys for the day so I can come. I desperately need to buy an outfit for a wedding (the week after), and I don't think he's working, so am quite hopeful ...

26th June, at that pub near the canal I think we've decided on (but I've forgotten the name again!) and yes you can all come! What was the name of that pub again?

It is still 26th AFAIK and Rhubarb has suggested a pub called the Mark Addy (who he?) which moniker and gumdrop know and think is OK from the sound of things??? ( I am totally in the dark meself!)
