Gumdrop · 04/05/2004 12:48

OK, at the moment I can't oranise the proverbial in a brewery, but at least I can get the ball rolling.

Any other maniacs out there, and want a get together in May / early June?

i'D LOVE TO SEE THE COWS BUT AM BUSY THAT DAY. WITH children easier as dp works shifts. That's if I'm invited, I missed the last couple

moniker · 18/05/2004 14:08

It would be lovely to see you again Ninja ( I sat next to you in Pizza Express with old name!!). How is your DD? Maybe we could make it the 26th June then? Also, I'd quite like it to be with kids especially if we are seeing the cows - maybe it could be optional!?

katierocket · 18/05/2004 14:16

Can I come too please. I've not been to any yet but live stockport way.

Actually having said that Saturdays are not good for me but I'll keep my eye on the thread.

Janh · 18/05/2004 14:39

katierocket, are you free this Friday???

I'm easy re kids - depends what else they have on that day. I think Jun 26 is OK for me though and the cows sound nice!

We have the same in Clitheroe but with sheep - Great Days of Folk first weekend in June (end of half-term this year) lots of street entertainment, a good day out, esp when the weather's like today! (And lots of sheep for the kids to spot although the website doesn't mention that - "The Ribble Valley Sheepfest"!)

Janh · 18/05/2004 14:41

Oh, here you go - scroll down to end

(Obviously these are models and pictures rather than real sheep. Well they were last year!)

marthamoo · 18/05/2004 14:46

I would like to come too - ooh I'm getting brave. Daytime better for me as I don't fancy getting the train back to Macc. late at night.

Gumdrop · 19/05/2004 16:22

Moniker - are you blonde? or were you blonde at meetup with Ninja?

OK -shall we say 26th June then?

OP posts:
moniker · 19/05/2004 16:40

Semi blonde I think - have stripey highlights at the mo! I sat next to you Gumdrop and opposite Rhubarb!! It will be lovely to see you again!

Rhubarb · 20/05/2004 09:52

If I'm still here can I come? Where are we going?

Janh · 20/05/2004 09:57

Yes!
Don't know!
Have you sold your house?

oliveoil · 20/05/2004 11:07

Forgot all about this thread, pregancy brain strikes again. June 26 is it?

GenT · 20/05/2004 12:57

I am in if it fits my schedule, working Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday definitely

I will have to check with Janh first though

oops just checked, 26th is a Saturday, I am out then

Gumdrop · 20/05/2004 13:02

OK - time to get definite on one area. Unless I'm screamed down in flames - the meet will be 26th June.

Now how about:

  1. Shall we make it children optional - but photo compulsory?
  2. Where can we meet?

Someone else can get bossy re those !

OP posts:
Janh · 20/05/2004 13:05

Awww, Gen, that's a shame - I'll email you!

GenT · 20/05/2004 13:17

Hi Janh, please email me as I don't have your address, also the copy of the letter you sent which I have yet to answer. I also promised CD a response too, but no address either, soz CD

I got a new computer and all the addresses are stuck on the laptop, no access to it.

hear from you soon, now I am off to do some packaging for the post

Rhubarb · 20/05/2004 15:38

How about Moon under Water again? Or will that bring back too many memories of someone from Stockport???

Accepted an offer on the house Janh, just waiting for the survey now!

Gumdrop · 21/05/2004 13:06

I'm dying to hear all about the person from Stockport - sounds a bit like the person from Porlock!

Moon under Water fine by me. They do restrict access to children on match days, but 26 June shouldn't be a match day. Also they ask that you and children finish eating by 6pm - but that's practically my bedtime so that OK as well.

OP posts:
Rhubarb · 21/05/2004 13:52

Every Saturday is considered a match day, I checked with them last time. Either Man Utd or Man City are playing and they reckon the Police have advised them not to allow children into the bar during the match.
That's fine if no-one is bringing kids, but if people are then we might have to choose elsewhere. There is a nice pub on the Canal side coming into the city from the bottom end of Deansgate - does anyone know where I mean? It's just as you cross the bridge over the canal.

Tinker · 21/05/2004 18:37

But the football season has finished.

Flip · 21/05/2004 18:50

Have I said I'm coming???

I went to the mini Macclesfield one today so I'm up for another. If no one is bringing kids I'll leave mine with dh and get the train!

Rhubarb · 22/05/2004 16:22

Oh has it? Oh right then! I can always check with Moon under Water - if that's ok with everyone.

Tinker, I might have to exorcise you first!

granarybeck · 22/05/2004 17:11

i would love to come too if that is okay. prob without kids, if i'm lucky

Gumdrop · 25/05/2004 13:06

Bump!

OP posts:
moniker · 25/05/2004 13:46

rhubarb I think you mean the Mark Addy. that would be a good place to meet up probably - quieter and if it's sunny we can sit by the canal. I'll not bring my boys unless there's somewhere with a play area to keep them busy though. in fact not sure if anywhere in the city centre is partic child friendly to be honest!!

moniker · 25/05/2004 13:47

the Mark Addy is just around the corner from gartside stret carpark
