Here are one or two suggestions, depending on who wants to come...feel free to add your own!

The Old Manor in Potters Bar, lovely pub restaurant with great food, mixed, mainly English style.

Via Pensiare in Radlett. Lovely lovely Italian restaurant frequented by Madonna and Vinny Jones.

My local curry house - yum yum - The Viceroy in Bricket Wood.

Well, I hope everyone's having a nice time. I know Mudda got there OK, she had an A-Z in her car and the phone hasn't rung...

/sigh

Babysitting all alone and nothing alcoholic in the fridge ... not sure I approve of these evening meet ups.

muddahubby wot a lovely surprise, your missus is delighted and impressed and is thinking of buying your company...

We as a collective would like to express our utter delight at having shared an evening in such auspicious company as the other wonderful mumsnetters who accompanied us tonight.

Hope you all got home safely..we're still drinking our tea and going wild !!

Tell her I got her txt and I really am going to bed, and don't trip over the cool box in the lounge!

Janstar · 06/06/2004 00:40

I'm home too. Thanks you for a lovely evening. Dh was up when I got home watching hannibal and muttering something about "where have you been till this time of night". Told him I was drinkimg tea and berry wine. Looked at me like I'd gone nutty.

karen99 · 06/06/2004 09:33

Morning girls!

We all got home safely and my head touched the pillow at 12:30am exactly! Sorry we missed the tea and berry wine at Janstar's, but I think it was a good move as ds woke up at 6:01am exactly and after 10mins of whinging and knowing mummy & daddy weren't moving he went back to sleep until 7:15am! So we got that lie-in after all!

It was a lovely night and we have to do it again soon. Have to get those July meetup threads moving!

Janstar · 06/06/2004 09:47

Morning girls , I got to bed at 1:30 , typical the pc was locked up last night so couldnt say goodnight !!

My lovely, (ha ha), dh gave me a nice sleep in till 10:30 , so I dont feel to bad. But he told me he was in Casa the night before oggling all the short skirts, or are they belts?? , dirty s*d !! so coming in at 1:30 and telling him I was oggled too, was my way of getting hi back .

Thanks for the berry wine Jan , I will persuade you to let me buy a bottle, IT WAS YUMMMMMMMY!!

Glad you all had a loveley time , very much looking forward to another event coming soon. do you need a hanky sis , STOP BLUBBERING YOU GWYNIE YOU . I think well do Italian for Jans benefit next one, as shes not sure about the japanese !!

Weres that whistling freakyteapot I need a cuppa NOW!!!!

Janstar · 06/06/2004 12:06

The Japanese food was very good, I thought, but it's just not really my taste. It's the way you can still taste it when you wake up the next morning that puts me off. All the same I would go there again.

Melsy, I don't sell wine to anyone, it would be illegal for a start and anyway it's a hobby not a business. I give it away to friends, therefore I shall be saving a bottle for you

I got a lie-in to 9:30 so not too bad. Feel a bit worse for wear this morning. Can't remember the last time I stayed up past 1am

Grommit is here with me and says hello. Must go and make some lunch for her.

Melsy, thanks for driving. My turn next time.

Janstar · 06/06/2004 12:21

Hi Grommit and Kayleigh...

I got up at 8.30 and let my dh have a lie-in. I had a dream last night that he was bibbing the car horn at other women and I was hitting him round the head. That's your fault Kayleigh . You've made me feel insecure. I told him off when he woke up (I always do when he does something bad in a dream) but he just laughed at me.

melsy · 06/06/2004 12:25

My pleasure Kayleigh, I felt good doing it and not freaking out. Was very proud of myself.

Hows grommit and ikle grommmit ??

Jan that would be lovely, yummm. Will save a space in my cellar. Didnt even think about the legalities. I suppose you'd need a license to sell.

Janstar · 06/06/2004 12:31

I wouldn't want to anyway. It's much more fun to do it as a hobby. I sometimes make little hampers and give them to friends and relatives for their Christmas pressies, with bikkies, cakes, chutney, jam, sloe gin, wine...etc. My auntie asked me to make a load of them for her to buy off me and give her friends but I said no. Something that's fun becomes a chore if you're not careful.

Glad to hear everyone isn't suffering too much today

Jan, are you sure only the japanese is to blame and not the 1,2,3,4... glasses of wine !

I'm off to scoff that flake now [yummy]! (Thanks again Jan!)

muddaofsuburbia · 06/06/2004 20:52

Thanks again everyone - great to catch up and meet new people.

Ds was sooo considerate and decided to give us a lie in til 9:10am - weird, freaky yet wonderful child

I'm off for a wee cuppa...

Janstar · 06/06/2004 22:44

Hey Karen, valid remark about the vast quantities of wine but honestly that oriental spice mix repeats on me in an unpleasant way - it's just not my thing. Very good food though, no doubt about that.
