W.London CHristmas Dinner: Brula, Twickenham 1st Dec

OK, Brula booked for FRIDAY 1st December!
For own private room! 2 things, we must arrive between 7-8 pm (no rpoblem, surely!) and if there are 10 or more of us they can go off a la carte for different menu (if we want).

So - who's in?

(Not stepping on yr toes, oh cheekboned one, this is as organised as I get!)

i think funding may dictate i skip november.

i've got so many birthdays in nov, plus NCT event and we're away for a weekend so......

Happened to be sashaying past Brula this arvo so had a wee look at the menu - looks fab and quite posh! Ergo, dress code: frocks! Nah, only jesting, not being able to jeans would constitute a national crisis as far as I'm concerned. Sitting here watching Wife Swap, can my life get any sadder

What sort of food was on the menu? Always up for some nice food even if I'm broke.

Anyone have a menu and/or prices? (Cautious about Christmas Dinner rip offs).

OK guys.
The price is £35 a head for 3 courses. On top of that is wine and service.
They have not done the menu yet for that week, but sample menus are on their website, attached.
We would have a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts.

Brula menu

It is a bit pricier than I remembered it, so what does everyone think? If it is too much then I can look for other venues but I'll have to be quick.

If still on, I am happy to lay on pre-dinner drinks chez-moi (I live 5 mins walk away from Brula).

What's the verdict?

for a 3 course xmas jolie I'm quite happy to pay £35 did you check whether they allow byo for corkage fee? Might save a bit on the booze bill

DH an dI went to Brula for Valentine's Day last this year. And it is a fab place. In fact, £35 for 3 courses at Brula is a very good deal. I had some king of fish soup... can't remember exactly what it was but I do remember it was yummy. This was not in the private room.

I am definately coming.

Can we do a secret santa thingy? Who is in charge oif this shin dig cause I know a fun game to play with the pressies, but I'm not going to spoil it by telling everyone. How about everyone spend no more than a tenner on the gift.

Oh, and Fizi, you are coming, even if I have to send my own nanny round to bsit, you are coming.

OK then: it's a goer!!! Corkage is a good question: I'll ask but am not hopeful, so suggest topping up before lift-off

I'll do the secret santa thing - but suggest not secret santa but lucky dip - you turn up, you bring a c£10 gift, nicely wrapped.

The offer of drinkies at mine is real. I'll do mulled wine, fizzy plonk and orange juice for Foxie - you want anyhing else, then bring it yourself!
