As to the train, oh come ladies how many times have we been on that train?????? I don't care what anyone else says, we're GOING on the train. yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Yeh 11am is ok for me, my only reason I wont be there is if I have to work, but I try to book the M & W instead.

DS & I are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

New ladies please feel free to bring whoever you want if this makes you happier, altho we dont bite, well I dont, but I aint saying much for WM & Hula, and that Easy well only joking gals

Discordia thanks for the traffic update we'll bear that in mind (MB did you note that, I need to pick you up earlier, so be ready)

OOOOO it's good to be back

MadameButterfly · 13/05/2004 22:05

I am always ready early

WedgiesMum · 13/05/2004 22:18

Careful who you say that to MB!!!!

We will also need to go on the StickBall game (thats crazy golf to anyone who isn't DS)....

So that's 11am at the train stop near the token booth/boating pond then is it??

Hulababy · 14/05/2004 08:58

Do you think we will ever manage that ticket booth meeting point??? I have only ever managed to meet anyone in the car park

Dh will be very disappointed to miss stick ball - it was his favourite bit.

If it is warm are we taking swimmers for the paddling pool? And I will wear shorts or something if it is - I am not going to get drenched again. Horrid child!!!

Yeah!!! We can go on the train

Any alternative plan for the wet weather scenario?

discordia · 14/05/2004 11:11

Will definitely bring swimming kit if warm. And change of clothes for when ds falls in a pond or something ... I want to go on the trainandthedonkeysandthebouncycastleandpleasecanIgoonaboati'mnottooyoungnagnagnagandiwantanicecreamnow!!!!!!!

Hulababy · 14/05/2004 11:17

LOL!!!

Forgot about the donkeys. DD will love them now she is older. And that big playground.

And can we insist that the picnic is all unhealthy, full of additives and sugar, all processed stuff???

Easy · 14/05/2004 13:48

OMG, We've never been to Markeaton Park, I had no idea it was sooooo exciting, however will I manage? (Just joking).

Really looking forward to it now. and 11 a.m. is the perfect time.

WedgiesMum · 14/05/2004 14:23

Don't forget everyone to park in the 'right' carpark. not the one immediately off the markeaton roundabout but the other one that you get to by going up the A52 towards ashbourne from that roundabout for about 1/3 mile then turn right following 'Mundy Play Centre' signs and park in the carpark along that road that is at the Mundy Play Centre (which is where the boats/trains etc are). This is especially for you Easy as it is the least walking to where we are meeting. WMxx

mez75 · 14/05/2004 17:28

Can anyone tell me how to get to Markeaton park from Derby train station. Having problems finding directions. Is it far?

WedgiesMum · 14/05/2004 21:05

You'll probably need to get a lift from one of us mez, it's quite far and I'm sure there is a bus, but not sure. How many children do you have, I have room in my car for 1 adult and 1 child so could pick you up if that fits with you??

mez75 · 15/05/2004 08:33

Thanks WM, I thought i'd check because it sounds like fun. I thought it might be within walking distance of the train station.I dont mind jumping on a bus as its only me&Ds. But doues any one know if there are buses?

MadameButterfly · 15/05/2004 22:51

Hi there Mez,

I have just checked on the Arriva website for you. There is a bus which goes that way but it goes from the city centre which is a 10-15 mins walk fron the station. To be honest I would take up the offer of a lift from WM. She doesn't bite.

Hope to see you then.

WedgiesMum · 15/05/2004 23:01

I DO, I DO, I do bite

Oh no sorry that isn't me it's DD (well it was today anyway little monkey, bit me in mid tantrum then looked really shocked when I shouted 'ow'.

Honest not a prob!

Ronniebaby · 16/05/2004 22:59

Well we will bring picnic, unhealthy as always.

Swim stuff a must, and yes Hula I am wearing shorts too, I got soaked last time thanks to those older boys (ggrrrrr).

Mez dont do it, WM really really does bite

Luv ya really WM.

Alternative in case of bad weather???? Anyone one know Derby well enough??????

I'm hoping I dont get any work booked in. Otherwise I'll have to miss it

MadameButterfly · 16/05/2004 23:05

Mez,
If RB can't make it I qill be on the train as well.

We could always co-ordinated when to arrive and get there together

mez75 · 17/05/2004 10:31

That would be great WM you willl have to let me know what time you want to pick us up and I can sort out the train times (they run every half hour or so).

mez75 · 17/05/2004 10:33

Sorry MB when will you know if you have to get train?

discordia · 17/05/2004 11:57

Indoor play in Derby ...

As well as Bumpi's (mentioned lower down thread I think)

There is a JJB Sports store which has a decent indoor softplay. Advantage of going there is that you can take your own picnic. There's no cafe but there is a McD's, Burgerking, KFC nearby and a cafe bar type thing downstairs. There are vending machines for crisps, choc, artificial drinks.

Freddy's in Spondon (Nottingham side of Derby). Haven't been but know people who go so must be OK.

Something called Adventure World (I think) in town but wasn't impressed when I went there.

And as I mentioned earlier, McD's Markeaton has an indoor play area. (Might be hard to get tables if there's lots of people?)

If people have picnics then JJB might be best option. It's next to football stadium which is probably signposted.

HTH!

WedgiesMum · 17/05/2004 21:08

Hi Mez - If we're meeting at 11 probably best to get you around 10.30, is that possible??

mez75 · 20/05/2004 08:34

Yeah that's fine wm will check train times and let you know. Thanks so much

Ronniebaby · 24/05/2004 23:26

Bump *

MadameButterfly · 26/05/2004 21:39

Everyone still on for tuesday then?

I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Hulababy · 26/05/2004 21:40

Yeah!!!

Me and DD are still on for it. We have fingers crossed for good weather too so we can use the paddling pool.

Ronniebaby · 26/05/2004 22:23

Hiya Gals.

As far as I can say we will be there, I still have 2 days left of this week, so someone could call me to book work, but I'm trying to avoid it.

It'll be good to see the old faces, and any new ones too.

WedgiesMum · 27/05/2004 11:49

That's the plan for us!
