See you all there!

tabitha · 17/04/2004 11:17

sorry, but I can't make it As usual something's turned up at the last minute. Have a great time though - looks like a nice day for it.

Lesley76 · 17/04/2004 12:11

Hi guys - sorry don't think I'll be there

i'm due today & feeling a bit crampy and niggly............probably a false alarm. But not sure if its wise to drive to Livingston (about 1 hour from home ) alone with 4yo. She's not a very good driver if i need to get back.....

Toothache · 17/04/2004 15:14

Janz - SOOOOO SORRY! I was admitted as an emergency to the labour ward at Stirling Royal yesterday afternoon. I ghad started to have what I htought were labour pains. Extremely painful and every 4 minutes. I was at work so they sent an ambulance. As I'm only 24 wks it was all a worry. I had some rather nasty internal exams and blood tests blah blah blah.... I then had some bleeding last night. They discharged me at 2pm as the pains and the bleeding had stopped. I have a heavy dose of antibiotics to take in case it's another UTI causing all this and I've been booked in for another scan on Wednesday.

I asked DH to post on MN to let you know not to go to pick me up, but he couldn't get the PC to work (loose cable!!!) and didn't tell me until I got home!! I didn't know how to get in touch with you to let you know. PLEASE accept my apologies for seemingly just not turning up. I really didn't know what to do.

Hope you all had a lovely day.

Demented · 17/04/2004 17:44

Sounds awful Toothache. Hope everything is OK. Make sure you get loads of rest.

We were at the Heritage Centre, arrived about an hour before the rest of you would be due to arrive, I kept a look out but it was Toothache that I thought I would recognise (being famous and all that, picture in the paper etc ) and she wasn't there so I may have seen you all afterall. Hope those who went had a nice time, it wasn't the best of weather, I think we were quite fortunate to see most of the outside stuff before the rain came on.

JanZ · 17/04/2004 18:48

Sorry to miss you Toothache - hope you're feeling better. At least I now know a bit of Central Scotland I'd never been to before!

I rang dh to see if there was a message - but I left Larbert station 2 minutes before you posted. Never mind

I only got to the Heritage Centre at 3 - by which time it was chucking it down. I approached a few people in the foyer asking them "if they were waiting for anyone" - got a few strange looks! After about 5 minutes though I spotted Sammac, who I'd met before and who HAD got there on time and had been trying to spot other Mumsnetters.

Despite the rain, our two boys still seemed to enjoy themselves. Ds loved the lambs and rabbits. It would be nice to go back when the weather is better and see a bit more of the outside.

Demented - unless you were the blonde with short hair in the soft play area, we didn't see you!

Maybe next time we should agree some sort of "sign" like a purple ribbon in our hair! Or maybe Mumsnet should sell Mumsnet badges!

Toothache · 17/04/2004 19:21

Oh Janz.... it must have really pissed you off.... I know I would've been livid! I should've gotten a mobile number for you or something.

sammac · 17/04/2004 19:23

Sorry to hear about your hospital trip Toothache, but I'm glad you're feeling better.
As JanZ said, we has a nice time, the boys were great and loved the soft play and the baby animals. Pity about the weather tho'
We def. need some kind of signal/sign as I was looking strangely at people too before JanZ appeared.
J- ds has been on the phone to your ds tonite. When we got in the car he asked if we were going to *'s house? Cute or what!
Sorry to have missed you Demented- what do you look like- I probably passed you a few times.
Any more news from Lesley?

Loobie · 17/04/2004 19:36

sorry, I live just about 15 mins away from the heritage centre and saw the weather changing and gave up on the idea knowing that we wouldnt see much and the kids would have been whingy as it was raining(well mines would have been anyway).
Hope the next meet is indoors or in better weather and i can make that one.

Hi everyone - sorry i didn't make it. Now feel like a complete fraud as I've made no progress at all - just the same crampy pains all day. Will probably end up going another week now!!! Wish I had come and had a lovely time with you all. Just had this vision of going into proper labour on the M8 with only a 4yo for company....

Toothache - so sorry to hear about your trip to SRI - sopunds very frightening. Please look after yourself.

Demented · 17/04/2004 21:53

Sorry to have missed you both! Hope you had fun!

JanZ, no I wasn't the blonde, I have shoulder length straight brown hair, I was wearing jeans and a three quarter length black leather coat. I have two DSs, one aged 5, short brown straight hair wearing blue and cream jacket and jeans, the other almost 2, shortish very dark brown slightly curly hair, cream and blue checked trousers and denim jacket. I had a black and red three wheeler buggy with me and DH, very short dark brown hair, brown jacket, cream trousers.

My DS2 took a fancy to a baby girl in the tea room, did wonder if her Mum was a Mumsnetter.

DS2 was very taken with the animals, particularly the small animals, he went all gooey.

JanZ · 18/04/2004 15:29

Don't recall seeing you Demented. Sounds like you have a Mountain Buggy, by the colours, which I also think I would have noticed, as we have a black one (although ds, 3.5, has refused to go in it for about a year), and they are not that common in Scotland.

Sammac - if you (or your ds!) fancies meeting up some time, you could get in touch via "Contact another talker". Every Sunday evening we're just along the road from you in Bardowie, where my parents live.

Loobie - I did wonder if the weather changing would put you off, as you might have had difficulties with your ds.

Toothache - I hope you've been taking things easy and are feeling better. I was more pragmatic than annoyed - I realised that things could come up and we had no way of getting in contact with each other. In fact, I was worried about leaving when I did, in case you had been delayed....!

Lesley76 - better safe than sorry!

Demented · 18/04/2004 18:40

LOL JanZ, sorry should have said cheepo Mothercare Urban Detour!

JanZ · 19/04/2004 09:32

That serves me right for assuming! I have to say though that the Mountain Buggy was a present from my parents - they saw it at the Royal Highland Show and loved it because my dad thought it was "really well engineered"

JanZ · 29/06/2004 19:26

Grscrym has been also been asking.

I've got a lot on my plate at the momet - so basically if soeone else want to organise one, then I'll see if I can make it along.

Loobie · 30/06/2004 00:36

Would love to come to a meet-up!
I'm on holiday with my son on 10th July - 17th July. I'm also away on a summer school on 31st July - 6th August. So any other time would be great for us.
xxx

gscrym · 07/07/2004 17:59

Shall we say sometime after the 16th and before the 31st then everyone. I'm away on the 31st for the weekend but am on block (off work) for the fortnight before that. Any ideas anyone? My ds would be particularly happy at anything farm related.

Pagan · 07/07/2004 18:26

Just found out I'm 10 weeks pregnant and totally forgot I'd posted to this suggesting another. Once I'm over the shock and given I have to take it easy after a few frights I'm up for it. I'll look into some suggestions

gscrym · 07/07/2004 18:51

Woo-Hoo, congrats. Hope you aren't feeling too queesy.

Toothache · 14/07/2004 09:58

What's happening with the Scottish meet-up girls???? We are terrible at organising these.... perhaps we should recruit one of the London Mumnetters to make the plans, then we all turn up!

I'm still pregnant..... and on Maternity leave so could manage whenever really.... although Monday, Wednesday and Sunday are best for me as I don't have DS. He's too much for me to handle in my whale-like status at the mo!

suedonim · 14/07/2004 13:13

We're just kicking about Aberdeenshire until August, when we may, or may not, go away. What about somewhere like Noah's Ark in Perth? How does that suit?

kalex · 14/07/2004 13:15

Noah ark would be fab. This has nothing to do with the fact I live in Perth
