I'm up for it Loobie- have next 2 weeks off I'm just outside Glasgow.

JanZ · 05/04/2004 15:32

I'd be interested - but can only do weekends as I work full time (and am NOT off for the next 2 weeks like Smmac - lucky thing! )

Loobie · 05/04/2004 16:43

Will it be after the school easter holidays?? I am in Glasgow too. Although I may have to shoot off down south soon as my mum is ill , so if it does not work out for this one I will come next time.

JanZ · 05/04/2004 17:15

I'm in Glasgow but am happy to travel. I'd probably bring ds, depending on when/where it is.

JanZ · 06/04/2004 16:31

Are we such a shy lot?

Lesley76 · 06/04/2004 17:22

I'm in Lanarkshire but have car and happy to travel. Will have 4yo and very large bump as I'm 38 weeks and counting........

Off on mat leave so can do anytime ish

Loobie · 06/04/2004 19:46

OK does anyone have any overwhelming preferences for any time/day or any meeting place?

OP posts:
sammac · 06/04/2004 21:24

I'm quite flexible, and will be coming by car so anywhere really.

Did you have anyplace in mind?

tabitha · 06/04/2004 21:41

Hi Loobie, I'd be up for it too. Am pretty flexible re times/days (am on mat leave too) but would prefer if it were after the end of the school hols as dd2 will not want to come and I don't like to leave her on her own in the house too long.
As for a venue, what about Almond Valley Heritage Centre in Livingston - there was a mini meet-up there recently - it's got nice cafes, lots for kids to do, plenty of parking and it's pretty central.

Demented · 07/04/2004 08:26

The heritage centre was great, I will watch this thread, may or may not be able to make it, depends on DH, when he needs the car etc.

JanZ · 07/04/2004 09:00

Almond Valley Heritage Centre sounds good - like demented though, it will depend on whether dh needs the car (although if I have enough notice, then I get to "book" it). Can only make weekends, as I've mentioned before, but go ahead and organise something and if I can make it, I'll be along. Can't wait too long though if lesley76 is going to make it!

Lesley76 · 07/04/2004 16:14

OOOH janZ i only hope you are right!!!! At that fed up stage & looking for distractions.Heritage Centre sounds fine to me.Do they have things for 4yos to do?

butterflymum · 07/04/2004 16:27

I will be back home in Lanarkshire over the Easter break and, if the weather is good, hope to do the Heritage Centre with hubby and the boys.

So, if I see a group of women and children having a ball, should I shout "Mumsnet's the Best!", just in case it is you lot?

Loobie · 07/04/2004 19:24

Ok sounds like the heritage centre has got the thumbs up,they have farm animals tractor and train rides,a heritage museum, two play areas, one of which is for under fives,a cafe and picnic areas. Is next weekend too soon for you all?

JanZ · 08/04/2004 16:36

Next weekend, as in 17-18 April? That should be OK with me, although I'll need to check if Airdrie are playing at home, in which case dh needs the car on the Saturday (and Livingston is difficult/long to get to by train from Glasgow)(... although HE could always take the train!).

sammac · 08/04/2004 17:37

Sounds fine to me too

Loobie · 08/04/2004 20:31

Get him told jan let him take the car,its easier for him to take the train than you with the kids LOL!!

OP posts:
Loobie · 09/04/2004 08:54

Of course i meant let him take the train but you knew that didnt you LOL

JanZ · 09/04/2004 10:53

... yes, but he takes his nephew with him as his good deed (his sister is divorced and his dad is only allowed supervised contact).

I forgot to check last night - so I will tonight.

JanZ · 13/04/2004 08:48

... so, is anyone up for this weekend? I CAN make it - WITH the car!

M2T · 13/04/2004 09:05

I'm up for it.... but I don't have a car.

JanZ · 13/04/2004 10:19

... where are you (roughly)? Someone might be able to pick you up.

M2T · 13/04/2004 10:26

I'm in Falkirk.... so I anywhere in the Falkirk/Stirling area would be easy for me to get to....

JanZ · 13/04/2004 11:12

Dh is talking about going to the Airdrie away game at Stenhousemuir, so I could drop him off, pick up you up, enjoy the get-together and then drop you off and pick him up.

That would mean a Saturday afternoon meet. Is anyone else interested?
