Oh Janz - That would be fantastic! I could get the train to Larbert station?

JanZ · 13/04/2004 13:24

So then, anyone else interested in Almond Valley Heritage Centre, this Saturday afternoon?

M2T - I'll check with dh tonight about his plans for Saturday.

bobsmum · 13/04/2004 13:42

Not this time, but we'll be hoose-hunting in Glasgow this summer for the big move back home in October/November. See you all in a few months hopefully!

JanZ · 13/04/2004 13:54

Bobsmum - where have you decided to look? Did you see my response re primary schools? Since I wrote it, we have had the "brochure" for the one local primary school we are thinking of and have been reassured with how they deal with the high proportion of English as an Additional Language pupils (plus my SIL, who works in the Education dept, has been raving about the head teacher). We still need to visit it though - AND be successful in our placing request!

Demented · 13/04/2004 16:39

Unfortunately we're not going to be able to make it. DH has been very busy over the holidays and we haven't had a chance to have a day-out so are planning to go out on Saturday. Have fun though!

Loobie · 14/04/2004 09:26

Ok yes i could make it on saturday afternoon with the kids,if we decide on a time we could meet in the foyer,I live not far from the farm so any time suits me .

tabitha · 14/04/2004 21:16

I hope to be able to make it but it's dd1's birthday (17) so she may have plans for us or she may have something arranged with her friends.

JanZ · 15/04/2004 13:20

M2T - waht time would you want to be picked up? How about 2, then that gives me time to drop dh off and then for us to get to the Heritage Park.. How long do you reckon it would take to get from Larbert station down to Livi? I reckon no more than half an hour, so if we suggest meeting up in the foyer at about 2.30. I've never been to the heritage centre, so it will be an adventure!

M2T · 15/04/2004 17:48

Hi Janz - Just spotted this... 2pm sounds great. That gives me time to let DS have a wee sleep too. I'll get the 1.38 train from Camelon which gets me to Larbert for about 1.45pm. Perfect. Or I'll maybe get a taxi, that's more realistic as I'm a lazy cow.

How old are your kids? How will I recognise you? I'll be the chubby pregnant one with a toddler in a buggy. I have very dark hair and ds desperately needs his hair cut so has a bit of a mop head!

Will there be room for his buggy or shall I leave it?

Oooh I'm all excited about this!

JanZ · 16/04/2004 09:07

There will be plenty of room for his buggy. I'll be in a royal blue Mazda6. I'm not sure whether dh will be with me - ie a) whether he is definitely going to the Stenhousemuir v Airdrie game and b) if he is, whether it is easier to drop him off after picking you up. But if he is still in the car, it'll only be for a short distance and it's big enough to take 3 adults and 2 car seats. He can be the one that sits in the back though - as the pregnant lady, you get priority for the front seat!

I'm a shaggy blonde (desparately needing a hair cut), and ds is 3.5. His hair is unfortunately extremely short at the moment - there was a bit of a disaster last week at the barber's!

Do you have a car seat/booster seat you can bring? I've only got the one, which ds (obviously!) will be in - although at a push I can go and borrow my SIL's one (but I'm not keen on it, as it's getting very old and bits falling off - she only ever uses it for ds if she's picking him up for us and we've not left our "good" seat).

Toothache · 16/04/2004 09:12

Changed my posting name BTW Janz.... I have a booster seat I can bring along. I'll wait for you in the car park?

Ooooh I'm all nervous! So who's all going then?

Lesley76 · 16/04/2004 09:18

I'm planing to be there - can i just check the exact time and place we are meeting? I'm due tomorrow but not expecting any action - not even a twinge yet!!! Will have 4yo with me too

Toothache · 16/04/2004 09:23

Woohoooo! A Mumsnet Meet-up Labour!!!! How exciting.

I think it's 2.30pm at the Almond Heritage Centre.... I've never been there so I don't know where in there we could meet. Janz?

JanZ · 16/04/2004 09:28

Loobie suggested in the foyer. Loobie - are you going to make it?

I've never been either - so it's the blind leading the blind!

muddaofsuburbia · 16/04/2004 09:37

In my former life, I posted on this thread on Tuesday 13 April, 2004 1:42:48 PM in case anyone's interested

Toothache · 16/04/2004 09:43

Gotcha MuddaofSurburbia! I'll drop you an email soon. Haven't heard from you in a while!

JanZ · 16/04/2004 10:36

Toothache - dh ISN'T going to the match tomorrow, so it will just be me in the car.

How old is your ds?

Toothache · 16/04/2004 10:54

Cool. Why isn't he going? Where do you live (approx)?

My ds will be 3yrs old at the end of June. He's a wee cutey with a strange accent which is hybrid Scottish/Scouse!
Bless..... I'm sure he'll lose that when he starts school.

JanZ · 16/04/2004 11:28

I'm in Glasgow - South side, so it's a wee bit of a detour now - but it'll be nice to meet you and good to help out a fellow MNer.

Dh has decided that he needs tomorrow at home to catch up on things. He had a very late night last night and is having a "slow" day today. He doesn't normally go to the away games anyway - but I think it was possible that Airdrie MIGHT have assured their promotion tomorrow, provided some of other results also went their way. That's way he had been thinking of going.

sammac · 16/04/2004 17:58

Didn't think I was going to make it as dd has a drama class bang in the middle of this time, but I think I can- hooray

So I'll just meet you there. I will have ds with me 2&5 months.

tabitha · 16/04/2004 18:13

I'm hopeful that I might be able to make it too. Everyone else seems to have made plans so it'll just be me & dd (10 weeks.

Demented · 16/04/2004 20:28

Talking to DH over dinner tonight about where we would go tomorrow, he said "What about that Heritage Centre place in Livingston?" so I might see you all. Don't wait for us though, but don't be surprised if a mad woman taps one of you on the shoulder saying "Hi, I'm Demented", just hope it's you lot, otherwise they really will think I'm mad!

We aren't 100% decided yet but may see you tomorrow.

Loobie · 16/04/2004 21:55

Hi yes Im coming are we going for 2.30 in the foyer then, they have carparking and a sort of two door area before you get in then there is a wee shoppy thing just inside so if just mill about there im sure we can find each other.I will have dd in her pushchsir she is 17months old and will be very pink as usual,I dont know if i will have both ds's with me or just one of them but who ever i have i will meet you all there.
