I do hope that there is someone out there from NI (Co Down specifically) that could meet up. Our Mums and Tots are great, but I would like to organise something a bit different!!!

OP posts:

Lisburn swimming pool is good, loads of things in the water for lo's to play on, pirate ship etc

laloop · 10/03/2007 09:35

Whereabouts in the stand, fff2? And where is the stand?

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 09:36

There's also a children's play centre at junction 1 in Antrim, but maybe not so godd if you fancy making a whole day of it. [Unless you like taking kids shopping with you]

laloop · 10/03/2007 09:36

There's a big new outdoor adventure golf place at dundonald (ice bowl complex)

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 09:37

No idea where the stand is, but the seats are:

section STAND, row 224, seats 6-7

I would have thought the standing tickets would have been cheaper... but mine were £38 each!! Wonder why the seated ones were just £27??

Must look for a map.

laloop · 10/03/2007 09:40

We're in row 58, £38 too - nightmare!!! We should have all just clubbed together and got one of those hospitality boxes

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 09:40

The map is shite.

What seats are yours????

Lmccrean · 10/03/2007 09:40

The two open farms listed on netmums dont open til april.. but we can walk to the loughshore park from my house! Anyone know how far away the ulster folk and trasport museum is from the train station? The website isnt very clear! DD goes to lisburn pool with my parents on a Sunday, and weve a birthday party on wednesday at indiana land...

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 09:41

Yeah!! Probably would have been cheaper!!!!

laloop · 10/03/2007 09:46

Shouldn't be too far as the railway line runs quite close, I think.

FFF2, seats are 2-4 (I think, printer wasn't printing very well as dd had it on landscape)

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 09:53

Erm... AFAIK the folk & transport museum is in the arse end of nowhere. But you vould call whatever train station you would be getting off at, & ask them? Maybe a taxi wouldn't be too expensive from there?? It is great, you can spend a whole day there easy!!

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 09:54

My printer wasn't working AT ALL, I just saved the page to my favourites & kept the confirmation e-mail!!!

Do any of you go on netmums then?

I posted a few times, but once I was reported

laloop · 10/03/2007 09:59

Cultra station is the closest to the museum.

What did you say on netmums, fff2?
I had a look on that site but didn't look my type of thing, bit fluffy. Stumbled across this site when I was looking advice on when bum-shuffling babies normally decide to get up to walk (for ds2).

Bampa, we must have the same taste in restaurants - I love macau and ginger (when we ever get a chance to get out!!)

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 10:05

My friend flamesparrow & I met on another parenting site & she sent me this direction She's lovely

I can't even remember now what it was all about... but the girl was a born liar, & had been going on & on & on about stuff, it was all lies, I am good at knowing things like that... she was lying all the time... so I just said what I would have said if it had been on here & I got this back:

"it has been brought to our attention that you posted a message in a rather confrontational manner which was a seemingly unprovoked personal attack"

But along with that one from the moderating team, I got about 7 from other people saying they wanted to say what I did but hadn't the guts...
so I dunno, it put me off a bit

laloop · 10/03/2007 10:09

Think here's definitely better, fff2

Right, I gotta go - have to get dd to ballet

Glad we all got our tickets - roll on October

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 10:15

Yeah, dh is talking about going to buncrana... don't even ask... he takes these notions now & again, for a nice drive

bampa · 10/03/2007 10:59

so jealous you got take that tickets. it'll be a fantastic night. Going to sugarbabes (with friend's 11 year old daughter)in 2 weeks and justin trousersnake in april How sad am i!

laloop · 10/03/2007 14:17

fff2, enjoy your road trip - I remember my dad used to take notions to set off somewhere, you never knew where you would end up in the weekend, nice memories

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 20:19

Welllll.. the reason we went to Buncrana was that h said he heard me saying I would love to go to Penneys [The Southern Primark]........ except I was wrong, & penneys is in Letterkenny So we went to Magilligan & crossed on the Ferry, had a nice wee drive up to Buncrana & that's where he asked me where Penneys was.....

I said "Erm... it's somewhere near the Pulse & not too far from the grill & sister sarah's" [all places we've been on hen & stag do's..

He looked at me, grinned & I knew he was trying not to laugh... "That would be Letterkenny then" says he

I have warned you all on the mile for Maude thread that I have no sense of direction, this just proves his!!!

Lmccrean · 10/03/2007 20:38

Thanks for your help earlier. Made it as far as my parents - 5 mins walk away! - but they have a great space for dd to play outside with climbing frame etc (I dont have a garden) and we spent 4 hours there waaay cheaper and less hassle than cultra!

Re netmums - the local part can be good - parents and tots groups, and some local places/events, but dont think Ive ever posted on it!

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 20:40

Aw that's good. Sometimes that can be as good as anywhere!! My mum & dad are seperated, but live close to each other. Some days it's relaxing to visit them, others it's pure stress!!

bampa · 10/03/2007 21:55

fff2 lol at your trip to buncrana. Sounds likessomething i would do

fireflyfairy2 · 10/03/2007 22:30

Aye, sure it was a nice day for a run out

Got a load of stuff for our holidays for the kids.

I got a new dress as I have a dinner dance at the end of the month, but it will need the straps fixed a bit as it's too low

fireflyfairy2 · 11/03/2007 20:10

Anyone about tonight??
