Oh.... Have to admit I too hate not being able to hear (and See!) the people I'm talking to. And the whole point here is to see and hear the people we normally type to. But, then, there were quite a few who really wanted dancing involved...

I'm not going to back out, but if I find out other are nearby having a nice glass of wine and a good chat-up, I ,igt join them at around say... 9:01.

I have booked a hotel in Mayfair where Mrs. Recycle, Nanou1, MrsBigD and I are staying. So, I'm deffo not backing out.

comwoveneer, you are not allowed to back out. PLEASE come.

I do really, really want to go, but I have a serious problem following a conversation in a noisy place (I practically have to attempt lip reading or just pretend to know what the person is saying) and I am rather worried what kind of impression I will give you all. Oh I don't know what to do.

Oh and I totally second QV's comment about not being grateful to Custy.

I'm happy to get involved with organising a splinter group event nearby if
a) someone will help me, I'm not here at all during the day
b) no-one minds us doing it, and I don't get accusations of cliqueiness (hmm, should there be an 'e' in that, not sure!)
c) Most people agree that same night, diff venue might work and not be annoying
d) that it won't be just those who are 35+ at the quieter event! Gawd, that would be awful

I think that we should have an optional pizza beforehand. That way those who want to can have a chat and a bite to eat and when we all get bored we can go to the bar and meet up with those who want to drink and dance

I like that idea Carmenere, then if we do go to the bar and it is noisy etc we could perhaps locate a quiter pub or bar for a few drinks and further chatting.

OOh Tallmummy - just noticed..yeah that would be brilliant. we will have to CAT and arrange something as it gets nearer.

Look, where we went last year. It was "ok". It was a bit dark and dingy, but there was food which was perfectly edible, and wine, and time to chat, then dancing and music later. There must be plenty of places like this...

For those that dont want to eat, well, they just dont eat.....at least we can all still chat? Yes?

Well there is a Pizza Express around the corner and we could possibly book a table for 20 ish and then us deaf and feeble mnetters could have a cheap and cheerful pizza and go round to the bar later or not as you like.

Right I must pop out to buy the ingredients for dh's roast tonight, but will catch up with you all later. Count me in for a pizza (or whatever else you decide).

If someone with my email addy could drop me a line to let me know what is decided that would be much appreciated.
