Been here 7yrs now have 2 ds's 2yrs and 6months and am married to a pom so looks like I'm here for the long run! The closest I get to an aussie now is watching neighbours (I know its quite pathetic). Anyway if there are any others who fancy a catch up, I'm in west london?

Kaybee... I really enjoy Canary Wharf. You don't feel at all like you are in London. I would love my dh to work there - it would be so handy for home

What is happening on 1st October Quokka?

Kaybee7777 · 20/09/2006 21:33

Just got the Maclaren one that we were talking about when we met up. Am sure it will do the trick!

kiwibella - it's reasonably handy for where we live but still takes DH 45 mins to an hour to get home, and since he never finishes before 6.30pm....

yeah saw a lovely snuggly looking maclaren footmuff at boots so will get that. Did you manage to get some sleep last night?

quokka · 21/09/2006 12:37

Thinking about it you might be ok with the snowsuit?

He's ok in the night just wakes up very early, and quite cranky during the day. Have started potty training ds1 today, which has been a chore but will be well worth it in the end [she says sighing].

Yeah I suppose that's a point, certainly wouldn't need snowsuit and footmuff together or I'll bake the poor wee man!
Good luck with the potty training But yeah definately worth it to get one out of nappies!
It's soooo hot today, thank god it's cool in the library for once!

quokka · 21/09/2006 19:35

yay after a day of nothing on the potty and everything on the floor or grass he did a poo on the big loo , I'm bloody knackered though.

I wonder what tomorrow will be like .

kiwibella · 23/09/2006 15:53

oooh, potty training! Good luck - but don't wear yourself out

I have been to Kew before, it's lovely. My bf is a chef at a nearby pub. I'll think about next weekend because October weekends are really busy and it's the only one we don't have plans for. Selfish, I know.

Hope everyone is well Enjoy the weekend.

cori · 23/09/2006 21:53

Kiwibella, my DH is a chef too. Bring him along as well. My DH will probably be coming.

kiwibella · 23/09/2006 22:25

best friend who is from home too. Dh is a boring banker type (he's not boring!!) We'll see how the week goes. I will let you know what we decide.

cori · 25/09/2006 09:46

whoops sorry [embarrassed]

cori · 26/09/2006 19:24

I wont be able to make it on SUnday, I am literally getting a last minute flight to Sydney probably leaving on Sunday night. Grandmother is very ill and wont be around for much longer, I have to see her before she goes. Probably getting flight out on Sunday night.

quokka · 27/09/2006 08:32

Oh Cori what a shame are you taking the little one?

OP posts:
cori · 27/09/2006 17:54

yep, we are all going. Feeling pretty stressed at the moment TBH

quokka · 27/09/2006 17:57

Are you really close to her? I feel for you as the distance is a pain in the arse! Let me know if I can do anything?

OP posts:
quokka · 27/09/2006 18:01

cori · 27/09/2006 18:14

No I am not, but my own mother died many years ago. (she is my mothers mum). As she is like the last link i have to my mum. As my friend said the other day she is part of who i am as a woman so I need to go and say goodbye. I think this will be my last trip to Australia for very long time.

Kaybee7777 · 27/09/2006 18:40

Oh cori, so sorry to hear about your grandmother you must feel so 'stuck' being over here and wanting to get back

quokka · 27/09/2006 18:51

Cori sorry to hear about your mum as well, no wonder your stressed! I've had 3 friends who have lost their mums in the last month and I just can't imagine what its like.

quokka, how is the potty training going? Still running around the place cleaning up messes?
We have been shopping again for baby stuff, acutally bought a steriliser as it was on sale at mothercare, and it came with some bottles and a brush. Can't believe I only have about 7 weeks to go now....

quokka · 28/09/2006 17:49

gosh 7 weeks ! We need to catch up soon!

OP posts:
quokka · 28/09/2006 17:52

Potty training is done! He even sat on the loo at Waitrose today after he told me he needed to wee .

I'm cracking up at the moment they are both playing with the cat flap. DS1 is outside and DS2 is inside, and they are pissing themselves laughing!

OP posts:
quokka · 28/09/2006 17:52

well I hope ds1 isn't!
