Been here 7yrs now have 2 ds's 2yrs and 6months and am married to a pom so looks like I'm here for the long run! The closest I get to an aussie now is watching neighbours (I know its quite pathetic). Anyway if there are any others who fancy a catch up, I'm in west london?

Are weekdays ok with you kaybee or is the train trip too much with bump?

OP posts:
Kaybee7777 · 14/09/2006 16:04

Week days are usually okay, as long as I only schedule one big trip per week

quokka · 14/09/2006 16:16

right well I can rule out tues, Wed, and Fridays. Otherwise I will have to go and pick up ds1 at 12 and Wed is music.

LOL so that leaves mon and thurs...
Thought I might be better to meet you with my dh sometime so we can have the car with us, if we are borrowing some stuff

quokka · 14/09/2006 19:25

Actually we can do Wed - its fine if he misses a session as its pay as you go . Where does your DH work? Maybe my DH could pass on the car seat to him or I could try and drive to you? I haven't driven that far in London .

Have your midwife issues got any better? You know you can talk to a doula if you need to. Not sure how much they charge?

We can always meet up another time with dh's, let us know what your weekends are like?

Hello ladies... another Kiwi here!! It's been lovely to flick through this thread. I'm most recently from Wellingon and we're coming up for our third year in London. We have 10yo dd.

quokka · 14/09/2006 20:44

Hi kiwibella and welcome where abouts in London are you?

OP posts:
Kaybee7777 · 15/09/2006 13:52

Hi Kiwibella - I am from Wellington too

Kaybee7777 · 15/09/2006 13:55

quokka, my DH works in Canary Wharf, where does yours work? I haven't driven far in London either, shouldn't have driven at all but nevermind
my midwife problems are still the same, just trying to avoid seeing them/her as much as I can! Who/what is a doula ????

quokka · 15/09/2006 14:24

Its usually a mum who acts like a midwife but without the qualifications. She tells you what to expect throughout pregnancy and labour, they help with bf etc. They can be there when you give birth, or help after.

Its something I might do when the kids have grown up a bit, as its 24/7.

Have a look at here

Dh works in Old St

sorry to hijack, but Quokka I still have your bowl (nicely washed now of course)

quokka · 17/09/2006 14:53

yeah I know I will try and collect it one day . You sound pretty busy till you go away, let me know when its a good time.

suejoneziscalmernow · 17/09/2006 23:53

I will be around Kew at the weekend next week - or I can drop it off at yours over the weekend?

quokka · 18/09/2006 12:48

sj I'm sure I can come and collect it, but if you want to come and drop it off and have some practice with my kids that would be fine also ? I have a really good coffe machine, and usually have cake .

I'm quite exhausted from MIL 60th b'day party in Cambridge. Why is it when you have small children hotels insist on giving you the smelliest, smokiest rooms .

OP posts:
Kaybee7777 · 18/09/2006 14:17

Thanks for the doula info quokka, it's definately something to think about. What a pain about the smoky smelly hotel room, I always try to get a n/s room as I just can't stand it!
1st Oct is okay for me I think...

kiwibella · 18/09/2006 18:33

Hi hope you all had a great weekend. We're in the Docklands and I love it here. Everyone else??

Kaybee7777 · 18/09/2006 19:01

We are in South Woodford. My DH works in Canary Wharf though...
