Oh poor you dentist aarrggh

My bastarding dentist is on holiday and one of my fillings has fallen out

Uwila I have been to oz a few times but not my cup of tea tbh. Longest I ever spent there was about 8 months. Though I have 2 passports I am really english!

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 08:51

gosh we are getting posh with all those countesses around!!!!

CountessPanina · 09/08/2006 08:58

No I am CountessDracula

This is my revolutionary name

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 08:59

sorry you have lost me! what is panina?

CountessDracula · 09/08/2006 09:06

Countess Sofia Panina

She was the first person to be tried under the Supreme Revolutionary Tribunal for nicking a load of cash. She risked social opprobrium and Governmental opposition to secure the access of women to higher education and improve the living conditions of women factory workers

CountessDracula · 09/08/2006 09:07

(did you see the revolutionary names thread?)

Uwila · 09/08/2006 09:08

Oh no no no no. You can't do that. You are CountessDracula. Always will be.

I loved Sydney. I could definitely live there(if there was an oil industry to employ me). But then I suppose it's a bit small for my taste. I'm a big city girl.

Well, we can add dentist to our ailment conversations, as my lovely (NHS ) root canal is tomorow.

Uwila · 09/08/2006 09:10

Oh, right. Missed the thread (and posts crossed there). But still glad you are back to Dracula.

suejonez · 09/08/2006 10:00

CD I can highly recommend my dentist in Kew - if you need some emergency care. David Callaghan At Kew Dental practice in North Road right by Kew Gardens tube station (on the M&S side not the Gardens side)

suejonez · 09/08/2006 10:01

And I'm feeling particularly sorry for myself becasue I've got an allergic reaction to a bite on my face and look like I've gone 3 rounds with a boxer - and the antihistamines are making me drowsy [sed]. fed up.

suejonez · 09/08/2006 12:06

and none of you care [pathetic] [grumpy]

CountessDracula · 09/08/2006 12:11

There there, pat pat ((())))

Thanks for dentist offer, may callt hem!

TutterOtsky · 09/08/2006 12:13

just popping in to say

one, that i'm not going to be able to make the 31st - will be in france - but will raise a glass to you from there

and

two, sj - think my old dentist in gunnersbury is still taking nhs patients. i flounced from there after a row with the receptionist, but the dentist was perfectly good (miss murphy, 020 8994 3088)

oh, and CD - thanks, one small step was great - took ds there on monday and he now has his first shoes. they were lovely in there, despite stroppy ds

TutterOtsky · 09/08/2006 12:17

ps sj - i too get reactions to insect bites - horrible lumpy blistery fluid-filled things (euw). in fact am sporting one on my left arm right now, which hurts quite a lot as i took the aforementioned blister off it in the middle of the night scrabbling abou under ds's cot trying to retrieve awol dummy

edam · 09/08/2006 12:19

Please can all you Londoners have a look at the thread "Mumsnet demo tomorrow"? Thanks v. much.

MrsBigD · 09/08/2006 12:25

Nanou1 ... I'm not saying LOL

My dentistry does emergencies (they're not cheap though) and are on The Mall in Ealing, it's called The Dental Gallery and they're open saturday 'My' guy is George and he's a brill dentist.

SJ was your reaction to the dental work or something else? Poor you!!! I usually just nearly faint at the dentist off late... too responsive to the injections so now he has to give me 1/2 dosages!

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 12:33

hi all. tutter; where about in france? will be in brittany - rennes. as for dentist is that the guy between acton town station and gunnersbury park? heard he was good.
poor Sue... hugs. you feeling better?
MrsBigD, you coward? come on let's have it!!!! or is it best to leave it til the 31st?! how are you getting on re job hunting?

TutterOtsky · 09/08/2006 12:40

nanou, we'll be in provence. with my parents and the ILs (my idea after a glass of wine, daned fool that i am).

are you driving to brittany?

no, this place (dentist) is on burlington road. i had a blazing row with thr receptionist after they cancelled an appointment without telling me. i haven't been back and am now paying a small fortune to go to a private place in kew instead (i repeat: damned fool ).

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 12:49

taking the boat portsmouth to st malo. can't wait! lol re glass of wine. you can always join us in brittany if it gets too much! we have room for you to sleep

SnowBoo · 09/08/2006 12:50

nyone know how MrsRecycle is? She due around now.

Oh, and now i can't move as split from front to back . Fed up now.

foxinsocks · 09/08/2006 12:57

just noticed yesterday that there's going to be a new One Small Step One Giant Leap opening in Teddington (though they haven't started developing the store yet so I guess it might be some time). Can't wait because we could do with a decent children's shoe shop round here!

suejonez · 09/08/2006 13:10

MrsBIGD swelling is in reaction to insect bite - only do it with some not all but don;t know which are bad ones. Little critters never hang around long enough for me to identify them.

Tutter if you're going to the dentist in North Road, then he is expensive but excellent - they have three dentists there and all are excellent. They have an eye-wateringly expensive hygienist who is also excelllent.

Nanou1 · 09/08/2006 13:16

Sue. did you put something like vinegar or tea tree oil on the bite? is it that bad or can we still recognise you?! sorry only teasing . so are you on for a baby shower? re shoeshop i go to the one in ealing and got all dd shoes from there. love it! what do you mean snowboo? MrsC is off now. no news. think she could not access pc easily.

suejonez · 09/08/2006 14:02

it'as WWAAAYYYY past vinegar or tea tee oil, Nanou! I got bitten at night and by mornng it was already swollen so no chance to put anything on it. Industrial strength anit-hisamines seem to be doing the job though so am marginally less like Elephant Man this morning. I am recognisabe just that one side of my face looks a size larger than the other so I look kind of wierdy, lopsided-y.

have had much worse reactions than this in the past when my whol eye swelled shut and had to have steriods or when bottom half of my legs swelled up so I guess I should consider myself lucky. I'm allergic to Dettol and plasters too, though they only bring me up in red marks, no interesting swollen bits.

MrsBigD · 09/08/2006 14:55

dinner with the 'elephant man' now it's getting interesting
