Thought I'd be premature and create this thread now.

Currently have this meet up planned:

13th Jan - Miss Tina's in Washington

A proper break will make you more productive in the long run. (that's what I'm telling myself anyway)

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 12/08/2015 12:14

Hi all! And welcome Nikki!

Sorry I haven't checked in for ages...have been back at work for a couple of months and feel like I now have no time to do anything!

I'm up for curry and cocktails (or the equivalent) whenever I don't have something else on - the back end of October is good for me at the moment Smile

Hope all of you dealing with school holidays are managing ok with the extra hours/numbers of children...not long until term starts again! Cake Brew Wine

juneybean · 13/08/2015 21:09

Welcome Nikki!

I have no idea what my schedule will be like in September but am starting new job at end of September which will likely be alternate Saturday nights (hurrah to a more consistent work rota!)

hey there dupain and juney.

ok let's give it a little longer and go fit an October date once we've all got work info and stuff in September.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 13/08/2015 21:23

Yay for October. Am free Thursdays in September if anyone fancies a daytime meet.

Gatekeeper · 21/08/2015 13:23

I fancy a curry and cocktail night but am an old bird at 51- would feel out of place with all you young 'uns

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 21/08/2015 15:36

Come along gatekeeper, all that is required is a love of curry/cocktails/cake/MN/all of the above.

Cocktails are usually at ebony where we sit outside under blankets and complain about not being able to hear ourselves think with the noise inside while drinking delicious cocktails.

Curry is usually the capital which does lovely food while we talk about everything under the sun until I remember I have to catch the last bus back to Sunderland...

People welcome to join us for either or both parts of the evening.

juneybean · 21/08/2015 19:57

Ahh age is just a number! We definitely aren't clubbers!

Saw a link from another thread to here. Just popping in to say Hi before I RTFT. Im in Darlo (well in a small village a few miles out from Darlo)

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 22/08/2015 14:33

Welcome Dr! One of us is Darlo based, the rest scattered around the NE.

IAmAPaleontologist · 23/08/2015 08:42

hello gate keeper and dr, do join us Smile . we are definitely a bunch of old farts.

I'm back off holiday, washing machine broken and dd has worms. 9 loads of washing in the queue, will be another 4 to add once I've stripped at the beds and changed the towels. new machine scheduled to arrive between 2 and 6. hope it is more towards 2 so i can get some stuff dry in this sunshine! may just go steal a neighbour's washer this morning.

Gatekeeper · 23/08/2015 09:07

Dr I'm nr Spennymoor so not too far away from you

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 23/08/2015 09:19

Oh that's a good end to your holiday paleontologist... Hope washing machine turns up asap.

Did you have a nice holiday though?

IAmAPaleontologist · 23/08/2015 12:03

Washing machine for between 3.15 and 5.15. Fingers crossed for 3.15! Whole family dosed with ovex, happy days.

Holiday was good really. I'm not but I think everyone had a good time, lotsof splashing in the sea, found out all about the west runton elephant/mammoth, dd got to talk to a real live paleontologist and then because she had spent the entire week demanding to eat lobster we went to a lovely, relaxed place called "Rocky Bottoms" which serves up very local crab and lobster and she and ds1 demolished a lobster dripping with garlic butter between them. Ds2 has yet to be convinced about seafood. Going to see my lovely Mamie on Tuesday a couple more days to eat ice creams and swim in a slightly warmer sea with more waves :)

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 23/08/2015 12:25

D must have been in seventh heaven meeting a real live paleontologist Grin

We were in Yorkshire last week- went to the deep as you suggested a while back. They loved it- ds2 has now decided he wants to be a diver so he can swim with sharks.

IAmAPaleontologist · 23/08/2015 12:45

Brilliant isn't it, all other aquariums pale in comparison.

VikingLady · 25/08/2015 20:25

Has anyone seen this?

Yeah it's someone off the northerner thread trying to arrange more structured meet ups! :)

And I'm home again. 1 week in Norfolk followed by 3 nights with my lovely Mamie in France. Bittersweet the last one was. Need to get back to it now!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 31/08/2015 21:59

Urgh, back to work tomorrow. Regretting the 2 weeks ignoring the blackberry now. Did have lovely newborn snuggles with nephew today though. Smile

IAmAPaleontologist · 09/09/2015 20:55

I suppose we should get planning.

VikingLady · 21/09/2015 11:39

Place marking. You'd dropped off my TIO!

IAmAPaleontologist · 26/09/2015 14:35

Boo

goldenretriever1978 · 15/10/2015 20:59

Hi all. Meet up before Crimbo anyone?

IAmAPaleontologist · 20/10/2015 17:31

Hopefully. The lovely sticky has been on the case, sticky, spiggy and I are meeting up this week so we shall attempt to put a plan together!
