Hiya to the newies - where about are you (in Liverpool?)

Joec - hope you took some photos for me and for your wedding album, did you enjoy it? My brother came this afternoon for his dinner and after we collected the kids from school, we all went up to The Pub in the Park for pints and pints of ice cold shandy! I'm really looking forward to going away this weekend - we're going camping in the Lake District - I'll report back what it was like .

biglips · 06/07/2006 21:07

hiya, it was my ds1 7th birthday on Monday and the poor little birthday poor came down with Chicken Pox, he's covered in spots now, mainly on his chest and back, but they're still appearing by the hour, I think the Piriton has made a massive difference and he's hardly scratching at all, so who wants to bet how long it'll take my ds2 to come down with them too?

jaamy · 13/07/2006 14:18

Browny - poor DS. Chickenpox is miserable, esp when they're a little bit older and can SCRATCH! I had both DDs down with it in Feb/March. WOuld give it just a couple of weeks and then I'm sure DS2 will be down with it. Hope DS1 had a good birthday, despite the CP! Did you get anywhere with the builders? All building work finished with us now - the decorating is getting done slowly but surely!
Joec - good luck with all the preparations - that's half the fun!
Julzeboo - hope you are keeping well and jellybean is growing nicely!
BL - how're you and your fashion conscious DD doing?
We had a lovely (though hectic) time in Ireland. So many relatives to get around - my mum and dad come from the typical large Irish families. Both DDs were very good and impressed everyone with their cuteness.
We've just had some lovely photos back from the nursery of the two of them - I'm a very proud mummy!!
HOpe everyone ok

BROWNY · 13/07/2006 16:14

Hi JAMMY, the builder came to our house to give me a quote for the work, but he has yet to contact me [angry}, glad your's is coming along though. Sounds like you had a marvellous time in Ireland, I've never been and would love to go. Ds1 is very upset with the CP, it is day 4 now and he is still getting spots, they're everywhere, his head, eyes, between the fingers, groin, chest back and everywhere else that I haven't mentioned. He has a raging temperature and complained of being very dizzy when he woke up. So, I've been dosing him with Ibuprofen and Calpol, Piriton and calamine lotion.

jaamy · 13/07/2006 22:57

Hi Browny
Sorry DS is suffering so badly. I found that medised helped my two. You can also get calomine and aqueous lotion which combats the drying (and itching) effect of calomine alone. Hope he gets better soon.
Try giving the builder a ring to jolly them along. We've found that although our guy has been fab at the building, he's a bit naff at the admin side, which is why he's a builder, not an accountant, I suppose.
Hope all the rest of your littlies are ok - have the girls and you and DH all had CP?

BROWNY · 14/07/2006 16:18

Hi JAMMY, thanks for the tips, everyone here had had the CP except my ds2, so we're taking bets on when his first spot will appear. Ds1 seems a lot better today, but there are still a few spots that are blisters still and have yet to 'pop', so I don't see him going into school next week either, they break up on Friday anyway for the summer. Have a lovely weekend, it's going to be hot, hot, hot!

BROWNY · 17/07/2006 18:30

Biglips - where are you? You've been very quiet lately!!!

apronstrings · 17/07/2006 18:38

Hi Liverpool thread - my DH has just accepted a job in Liverpool we will be moving over from Washington DC early 2007.

We have some history - were both students there, met and got married there (13 years ago today) and had our dd1 in the womens hospital when it was brand new.

Looking forward to showing the area to all the children - we will be visiting the squirrels!

BROWNY · 17/07/2006 21:10

Welcome apronstrings, love your name!!.

I've got four children, two girls and two boys, my eldest daughter is 10 and my youngest son was 2 in May. Where about in Liverpool will you be living?

BROWNY · 17/07/2006 21:11

Oh, Happy Anniversary!!! It's our 11th wedding anniversary this month too!

apronstrings · 18/07/2006 00:19

thanks - don't know where yet - coming over in August to have a good look at the old place - also have 4 - two girls two boys - oldest 10, youngest 14mths

jaamy · 18/07/2006 10:58

Welcome Apronstrings!
Happy Anniversary! And to you too Browny!
I'm well behind you two - only 2 DDs, 2.5 and 9 months (6 yrs married) but after DH swooning over a nine week old baby at a wedding we went to at the weekend that may change soon...
Yes, Biglips where are you??
How's the chicken pox doing, Browny?

BROWNY · 18/07/2006 12:30

JAMMY, - wow, so that's why you had your extension built , hope you get some happy news soon!. Ds1's chickenpox have still not 'crusted over' (lovely term!), he was really narky yesterday but he's much more himself today. Have just noticed that ds2 has been scratching, don't know yet if it is cpox but will watch him closely.

Apronstrings, where are you from originally? Have you family in Liverpool? Fancy our children being quite close in age . Keep in touch with all your 'moving' news, you must be busy planning away!

joec · 18/07/2006 13:31

hi everyone and welcome apronstrings.
browny is dd1 gets chicken pox now he will hopefully be ok for the wedding... well fingers crossed so you will still be ok to go.

jaamy · 18/07/2006 15:05

Browny - don't hold your breath. I'm not as brave as Nemo to have them so close.
Hope you are doing ok Nemo, if you're watching!
Joec - have you reached the 4 week countdown yet?

BROWNY · 18/07/2006 15:08

Hiya JAMMY, you can't argue with a broody man! That's how I ended up with 4, he'd like even more!. Are you in stuck in work in this heat?
