Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is getting full.

Next meet up is on Wednesday 10th April, 10ish at the Durham Botanical Gardens. We will either be in the entrance or staking a couple of the picnic tables by the pond.
I will be giving Vikinglady a lift.

Fab, will see you there. Shall we take bets on which child will knock the Lego cathedral over. clue it will be one of mine

ArrowofApollo · 18/08/2013 21:12

Yep that sounds like a good plan Smile

Apollo, do you want to collect wet bag on your way to/from?

ArrowofApollo · 19/08/2013 07:58

Going to have to give this a miss after all. Had an awful night with DD, waking up loads crying and was hard to settle. She has a cold and a cough and this morning has stapled herself to my boob.

Also out due to the baby having the worst nappies I have ever seen in my life, screaming much of the night and then bringing up his breakfast. I'm no Sherlock but I'm going to go with a tummy bug diagnosis.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 19/08/2013 09:05

Boo to poorly children. Hope they all recover soon. Shall we try for thurs instead?

ArrowofApollo · 19/08/2013 12:20

poor ds2!
DS has a swimming lesson later normally would take DD swimming but she is so snotty ATM and just been very hard work, went shopping this morning, clearly yo remind myself why I don't normally take them, DS whining about a hot wheels car he wants and DD tantrumming in the car there and back.

OP posts:
Indith · 19/08/2013 19:58

It is all about online shopping.

I take it back, don't think it was tummy bug, think it is just teeth. He has always been extra vomity when teething.

I could do Thursday instead.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 20/08/2013 07:48

Glad a improved and you are not faced with a tummy bug going through the rest of them.

How's c today?

Fifilosttheplot · 20/08/2013 12:47

Hi all, can I join in, just discovered this thread by following the trail of cake bread crumbs from the local pages.

I'm in Monte Darlo and love it that we have a general sit down and natter thread for us northern types. I have a DS just gone 3 and we are in potty training hell at the moment.

Indith · 20/08/2013 14:28

hello!

juneybean · 20/08/2013 16:00

Grin @ monte darlo, brilliant!

Welcome!

Fifilosttheplot · 20/08/2013 17:24

Well thank you for the welcome, does anyone have any potty tips when you have tried all the normal advice shopping, bribery, applause etc and although he is clearly ready still makes puddles everywhere?

I feel I am wondering if DS is going to remember in years to come the wierd time in his childhood when his DM seemed to have a neurotic poo and wee obsession.

Also, the tearing my hair out is starting to make me look slightly strange Smile

Indith · 20/08/2013 17:54

come and eat ice cream with us on Sunday. good for hair growth and we won't bat aneyelid at puddles.

I'm no good, eldest had constipation issues so was always wetting and soiling then the next one obviously copied him even though she had no problems. only thing that helped us was routine. I didn't ask them if they needed to go I told them. get up go for a wee. get dressed go for a wee. wee before leaving house.wee on arrival somewhere. wee before all snacks and meals.....means you catch most ofthem!

Indith · 20/08/2013 19:43

Oh dear. Been trying to get back into a good exercise swing while on holiday. Midwifing is terrible for posture etc so making sure my core is strong is pretty vital to avoid back problems. Anyway with 3 nights in a row of dh being back late I thought I'd attempt to do the Shred since it is on youtube. Ha! Dosed the non sleeping, teething whirlwind up on drugs and sat him in front of Iggle Piggle but he seems to think dodging between my legs while I do star jumps, getting me in a headlock while I'm planking and sitting on my tummy bouncing while I do crunches is far more fun.

I'd sulk and eat crisps while watching the Bake off but he'll only tantrum when I won't let him share....

Rotter.

SPB is your DH still feeling all brrody towards him? He is still very beautiful. Do you think he'd like him for a night or 2?

ArrowofApollo · 20/08/2013 21:05

Ice cream Thursday or Sunday? Am confused!

Fill welcome, I some times meet VikingLady at Adventure Point in Darlo, you are welcome to join us Smile
C is better but still complaining of mouth and ear ache. Am blaming her last set of molars as she is drooling lots and feeding lots.

why did I say Sunday? Sunday I'll be on holiday. I meant Thursday.

Fifilosttheplot · 20/08/2013 21:52

Ahh, thanks for the invite but unfortunately I am on parent taxiing duty on Thursday taking them to shields to catch a cruise ship to god knows where. I think they are spending their winter fuel allowance early.

arrow adventure point sounds great, I have Fridays off so if you are ever doing a meet up then count me in.

Indith, I'm not quite clear, are you talking about your toddler or your DH when you are doing the shred?Grin

Fifilosttheplot · 20/08/2013 21:57

Thanks for the potty tips inith, I think routine is the thing he protests wildely when I insist he tries on the toilet and does some weapons grade tantruming. Between us and nursery I think we are making some progress but my word it is slow

juneybean · 20/08/2013 22:09

Grin @ A Indith

I'm feeling very confused ladies, just been on a date with a man... hmm... he seems sweet... but I guess I'm not used to their mannerisms.

Indith · 21/08/2013 07:55

juney we need more detail. some of us are boringly old and married and need to live vicariously.

the best part about not ever having another baby ever is that I never haveto to go through teething again. I want these canines through already!

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 21/08/2013 09:31

Hello Fifi!

A date juney? With a bloke? more details required

Right, one and two are on their way to London with dh. Three is in nursery. Interview postponed till after my hols so I don't have to prep. I have the while day to myself Shock with nothing to do Shock Shock Shock I've decided to do something constructive and not piss the day away. I've stripped ask the beds so I can't be tempted to go back to bed. I've bought yummy stuff for lunch. But what shall I actually do?! I'm out of practice with these day off things.

Indith · 21/08/2013 09:34

well if you are that bored I can lend you some children. read a book? go to a cafe?

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 21/08/2013 09:43

Thanks for your kind offer of some children but, erm, no. Grin

If I start a book I'll not stop till it is finished. I think I'm actually going to do some housework Shock . No I haven't gone crackers. It is normally dh who does all the bulk of it and had been so fab looking after everything while I've been up and down to London that I want to give him a nice surprise when he gets back. I'll change my mind after an hour and go with the book option
