Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is getting full.

Next meet up is on Wednesday 10th April, 10ish at the Durham Botanical Gardens. We will either be in the entrance or staking a couple of the picnic tables by the pond.
I will be giving Vikinglady a lift.

Hope he recovers quickly spiffy. Needing a holiday after trip to New York. Would be up for tea out too.

Indith · 13/08/2013 21:25

SPBisResisting · 13/08/2013 22:37

OK I'm going to try to get there for 10.30.
G;ad T is feeling better spiggy

VikingLady · 14/08/2013 09:00

Glad he's feeling better, even if only slightly!

LeggyBlondeNE · 14/08/2013 09:34

Dropped toddler at nursery, on our way to Botanics! We'll be in cafe I expect, drinking our soya latte and boobie milk respectively ;)

Indith · 14/08/2013 15:35

It is official. I am addicted to buying dresses on ebay. The dress that arrived today is lovely, looks in perfect condition and can still be bought new from the retailer for £65.

SPBisResisting · 15/08/2013 08:35

ooh what is the dress for and what's it like?

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 15/08/2013 09:23

More clothes shopping? Shock who are you and what have you done with Indith?

Indith · 15/08/2013 14:01

I like ebay. You don't have to go to the shops and spending paypal doesn't count as real money does it?

It is the myrtle dress from crew clothing. Just a simple, pull over your head sort of dress which is exactly what I wanted. Not too long but long enough that I can wear with thick tights or leggings unlike my sorry little collection of very pretty dresses/tunics which are just too short for leggings but I have not yet managed to summon up the courage to go shopping for some sort of superskinny jegging type thing.

I'm supposed to be elsewhere but we had friends round this morning so didn't end up having lunch til late. Ds1 has only just finished eating and ds2 fell asleep in his highchair Shock. Remember this is the child who only sleeps with a nipple in his mouth (unless at the childminder's in which case he merrily naps for hours on end no trouble at all). I got the fright of my life when I looked up and saw him slumped down. I thought for one heart stopping moment that he had choked and died while I was trying to persuade ds1 to eat his scrambled egg. He is now fast asleep on the beanbag Shock. Ds1 and dd are bickering quietly because they know if they wake the baby then they will be murdered.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 15/08/2013 14:51

I put t down for a nap the other day (which required me to lie down next to him and hold his hand) and promptly fell asleep. For an hour. Shock Blush Luckily the big two had the sense to fend for themselves and tucked themselves up in my bed to watch scooby doo with a supply of chocolate buttons

Boy 2 much better now although he's leaving a trail of scabs wherever he goes. Eww.

Indith · 15/08/2013 14:59

Glad T is better. Any chance of catching you somewhere before I go back on placement?

I must get my ars in gear and sort out our autumnal fun and games Grin.

ArrowofApollo · 15/08/2013 19:48

In London tonight and tomorrow then I'm on leave for two whole weeks!!!

Name a day and I'll be there (with m and h)

Indith · 15/08/2013 21:53

Woohoo! Hurrah for you actually taking holiday!

Wholesome outdoor fun somewhere or just meet up and play?

Indith · 15/08/2013 21:54

wholesome outdoor fun can also involve ignoring children and eating cake. They can be wholesome, we don't have to be.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 17/08/2013 12:20

Right, dh has to do a days work next week . I'm hoping it will be Monday so we can enjoy the rest of our hols apart from the possible interview I'll have to prep for would that be any good for meeting up? I'm also free Tuesday and thurs if not. When are you back at your placement?

Indith · 17/08/2013 16:38

Monday should be fine. Back on placement 2nd Sept but we are away 24th-31st.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 17/08/2013 16:47

T scabby but no blisters so is not infectious just revolting looking

Don't mind what we do as long as there is cake Grin

Indith · 17/08/2013 17:25

We could just go to one of those garden centre cafes that have play areas..........though I only know of the one near me which is cheating! Anywhere nice somewhere else?

Or the place in Durham that does ice cream sundaes and then go buy a lego brick in the cathedral (they are building a lego cathedral, £1 a brick and you get to put it on yourself).

National Trust cake is expensive.....

Botanics cake is nice but kind of varies a lot as to what they have so often disappoints.

Plenty of cafes have very nice cake indeed but we have too many children don't we .

ArrowofApollo · 18/08/2013 19:29

I'll be up for a visit to Durham tomorrow, Ice cream sundae plus lego sounds like a good plan!

OP posts:
spiffysquiffyspiggy · 18/08/2013 19:44

Sounds like a plan. Grin

Someone tell me where and when and we'll be there en masse.

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 18/08/2013 19:47

And I'll have to have extra ice cream to distract me as I'm waiting to see whether I've got an interview for promotion. 14 applicants and they'll interview 5 at most.

Indith · 18/08/2013 19:49

Afternoon? Could meet at Palace Green and do Lego then ice cream afternoon snacks?

spiffysquiffyspiggy · 18/08/2013 19:55

1ish? Or later?

Indith · 18/08/2013 20:00

Then you will def need gin ice cream. Good luck!

1/1.30 works for me.
