Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is getting full.

Next meet up is on Wednesday 10th April, 10ish at the Durham Botanical Gardens. We will either be in the entrance or staking a couple of the picnic tables by the pond.
I will be giving Vikinglady a lift.

Yes I will have both of mine so pub not ideal!

Has been ver lovely today. Got loads of gardening done. Garden no longer looks like a weed infested wilderness.

I think tbh we should change the venue to the Slug and Lettuce as it still forecasting rain tomorrow. I am not hugely bothered but am thinking of Leggy with her tiny ds. But it definitely isn't picnic weather!!

Al Wasl Hospital has UNICEF Baby Friendly Status so they ought to have a good lactation service - tell her to go to a meeting when still pg if at all possible

lastly she can join this yahoo group and Facebook group which I know is quite valuable for meeting other mums and is maintained by some very knowledgeable people including a breastfeeding counsellor from the Assn. of Breastfeeding Mothers.

So if we've just put a deposit down on a Meriva to pick up Friday, what else shall we buy in our car shopping spree? We were looking for one family car and one little car but we appear to have bought a medium car instead .

Budget £10k. Absolutely no more than that. Ideal £6k.

For £10k we could get a new Zafira. But they won't be out of the factory until end of June and we need 2 cars by the start of June. Plus then we would own a Meriva and a Zafira and therefore be the most boring people in the entire world.

Is the Meriva big enough to be our big, family, fill full of crap and drive to the south of France car? If it is then we could go for a properly little car, maybe one of those Dacias that are £6k new? But if it is a touch small then we need a bigger car, wonder if pushing the budget up to the £10k would put us in reach of a decent focus estate or a c max?

Fed up of looking at cars and the only things in our budget being stuff that is almost as old as our deceased car with almost as many miles on the clock. I'm not spending £6k on something that isn't going to last.

Am clueless on cars. Never bought one as I've always been given family cast offs. The only vaguely helpful thing I can say is that the Peugeot 807 is horrible to drive so stay away from that.

Is June when you start placements? Exciting

T has just become the baby that I've fed for the longest time. M was 20 months, H 21 but T has hit 22. Can't believe that is a grand total of 63 months. That's over 5 years all but 18 months of which I've been at work. I think I shall have some cake to celebrate

Indith, I am hoping to renew my car later this year. If you go for a bigger car and want a cheap and reliable second (I've had no issues with it) later on, then I will happily let you know about it if we let go of it later this year. (Would be October time).

I have no idea about Merivas or Zafiras but I have heard that the C Max is big enough and reliable too.

x posted - yes cake. Could do with some ATM too. I could say it is because M turns 8 next Friday with makes for 8yrs of continuous lactation.

Thanks my dear but I need another car by June for placements. What do you have though? May be a model we've not thought about.

Hyundai do cheap and reliable cars with 5y warranties. Have had our i30 for nearly 4 years now, just had the washer bottle replaced for free as it had sprung a leak.

Wow 8 years solid. I am but an amateur . That definitely deserves cake! I can claim 7 years since I was not pregnant and/or breastfeeding as of the end of the month though.

I have a Ford Fusion which is a little bigger and uglier than the new Fiesta. It is just as reliable as the fiesta but cheaper as I guess it isn't as popular. 2nd hand they can be found quite cheap. I thought you'd need something for uni but thought I'd mention it anyway. With the SPD I liked it cos they are a little higher than a lot of cars in a similar range and it made fastening seatbelts around a toddler a tad easier.

So far the total for me is 53mo
No tandem feeding though, DS stopped about 3mo before I fell pg with DD.

I hope I get to a nice point with ds2 of his feeding when I'm here but not bothered when I'm not. Late shifts could be interesting though, June is not very far away and he gets rather grumpy if not presented with a breast approx 30 seconds after getting out of the bath! Nights are just constant........

On that note I am getting paranoid about periods. Still not come back. I've taken to carrying a pad and a spare pair of knickers in my bag. They came back at 4 months with ds1 so exclusively feeding and around 9 months with dd so still feeding a fair bit during the day and around 10 times a night. 13 months and counting.

I can't be arsed to study tonight, got a whole day of study at home tomorrow. Kids will be at the CM until 3pm. I hope it is nice tomorrow so we can go play at teh park after they come home. Dh is working this evening on a release.

Periods came back at 9 months with all of mine but I think it was the return to work at 6 months that triggered it. I always knew when my cycle was starting up again as I suddenly decided that sex was better than sleep novelty wore off again quite soon

Has dh thought any more about the snip?

Indith mine only came back last week.

Everyone who met up yesterday - I've been up all night with d&v, as has DH. I hope I haven't infected any of you, but just a warning. Mine is worse than DH's which makes me wonder if it was the sausage.

Sorry. Glad I didn't cuddle the baby!

Oh you poor thing Viking, I hope you feel better soon.

I'm sure something is happening cycle wise, feels like it anyway. I'm sure I'm going to feel a splodge half way through a lecture and end up with a teenage moment.

Kids have been dispatched. Breakfast and shower in order for me then hit the books. If you see me on here then yell at me!
