Hyde Park, Sunday 9th July (provisionally just in case any other events suddenly spring into their schedule).

So, who is up for it?

is anone going without kids?

sixtwosix · 19/04/2006 09:42

i dont want to bring my kids.
coming into london on plublic transport, with three brats? definitly not a method for me to have fun.
and no possibility of special bre w with the brats in tow.

novadandypowder · 19/04/2006 09:45

Add me as a maybe - I'm hoping to be pregnant and hideously sick by July, but you never know...

CHICagoMUM · 19/04/2006 11:00

Depending on how big this becomes, we may need to consider doing it officially. \link{www.royalparks.gov.uk/docs/small_events_guide.doc\see this} .

CHICagoMUM · 19/04/2006 11:01

Plus it (unfortunately) states that alcohol is not allowed at events in the Royal Parks.

georginarf · 19/04/2006 11:07

It says you can't 'Provide alcohol as part of the event' - I don't think that inculdes bringing your own alcohol - just that whoever's organising the event can't provide it.

I play in bandstands in the Royal Parks every summer and have never had any problem inviting loads of people along to picnics involving plenty of booze there.

but I do agree that if there are going to be absolutely loads of us we should check with the park.

clerkKent · 19/04/2006 14:58

I see DW has booked me in already.

We used to have softball matches in Hyde Park after work. We would bring in crates of beer and wine - and we had bookd the softball pitch first. Never any problem with alcohol.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/04/2006 19:39

Who is your DW CK?

Thanks for that link CM - i will give them a ring this week and discuss what we may need to do in advance - it seems like we will have quite a few coming.....Smile

I will do another list tonight for those who have added today.

Oh, and i think organised games for the older ones is a fab idea. Something to look into (and i will ask about when i ring the park).

I will try and remember to stick all comments under the one post in future lol!

Your welcome. If it starts to prove a lot of organising I will gladly offer my services as assistant organiser.

CHICagoMUM · 19/04/2006 21:26

Bump for any one else interested in signing up.

anorak · 19/04/2006 21:40

any idea what time it will start?

This is what I need to know if I am going to attend for a little while.

poppiesinaline · 19/04/2006 22:15

oooo how exciting. I may come. Never been to a meet up before. Depends if I can be brave enough.

Jura - where do you live? I live near Worcester Park.

AllieBongo · 19/04/2006 22:55

can't be arsed to read all this but i'll come!

oops · 19/04/2006 22:58

did i post that i will be coming too?

tigermoth · 20/04/2006 06:44

I can bring along some cricket gear for the older ones (and possibly a cricket mad 12 year old as well).

My youngest loves organising games but they can be of the army kind - you have been warned.

Will definintely be decanting wine into fizz bottles (lol anorak) as I will not be driving.

Isn't Sunday 9 July World Cup day? This doesn't affect me at all, but thought I better mention it.

Fauve · 20/04/2006 08:15

I'm CK's DW, VVVQV. He'll be good at fielding if we do cricket Grin

Marina · 20/04/2006 08:28

TM - that could be good = deserted park...or if we are in the finals, those Royal Parks hucksters might want to put up a giant screen...= bad.
So wot, no infamous "SE London Bag-o-Weapons" then Wink

tigermoth · 20/04/2006 19:08

Marina, the large grey bag is not very transportable by tube. So don't have to face a dilemna of should we/shouldn't we :)

jinglybits · 20/04/2006 19:20

definately. and will bring another mum so put jinglybits +1 Grin
