Hyde Park, Sunday 9th July (provisionally just in case any other events suddenly spring into their schedule).

So, who is up for it?

Please can I come even though I'm terrified? Must go to at least one meetup before i leave the country.....

I will be with 18 month old DD, but sans DH - he would be completely petrified at the whole idea

bourneville · 19/04/2006 07:18

I seem to have a clone! Grin

tigermoth · 19/04/2006 07:48

Hope to be there - will put it in my diary :)

Fauve · 19/04/2006 08:17

We'll be there - it's in the diary Smile

anorak · 19/04/2006 08:21

What time are you planning to meet? I already have to be in the City at 12.30 that day, if this starts earlier I might pop in for a little while on the way.

Marina · 19/04/2006 08:21

Me too, thanks for suggesting this VVVQV!

Yes, we'd be up for it! ("We" being me and the three DSs.)

Marina · 19/04/2006 08:35

Those of us with school-age ones can maybe organise rounders/cricket gear between us Wink

dinosaure · 19/04/2006 08:36

Yes, we've got some cricket stuff.

Marina · 19/04/2006 08:37

We have those huge plastic "tennis" rackets that always seem really popular with small children...

Fauve · 19/04/2006 08:50

We can bring a selection of frisbees...

Tortington · 19/04/2006 08:56

i'd come

but i hate kids.

Carmenere · 19/04/2006 08:58

Aw Custy you have to come, I'll bring a selection of wine!Grin

Tortington · 19/04/2006 09:00

is there going to be a pissed up element?

Carmenere · 19/04/2006 09:03

Well I presume there will be a certain amount of sipping chilled white whilst looking on at the children playing happily!
Or maybe it's just me, maybe I'll be the only one Grin

welshboris · 19/04/2006 09:09

Thanks jura, Im going to have a proper look at it this weekend

Hallgerda · 19/04/2006 09:15

I hate to be a picnic-pooper, but there are Royal Parks byelaws against drinking alcohol, or at least there were ten years ago. We had to rearrange an office party to Battersea Park because of the drinking ban in St James's Park.

Tortington · 19/04/2006 09:18

damn - i'l put my cans of special brew back then

Carmenere · 19/04/2006 09:19

Oh, I had a really fab picnic in Hyde Park a couple of years ago before going to a gig and we had some champagne. There certainly was no problem then but I suppose there was just a few of us!
I wasn't suggesting cans of special brew Grin

Cristina7 · 19/04/2006 09:20

I've been to a few picnics in Regent's Park, alcohol involved. I haven't heard of the alcohol ban, are you sure?

Carmenere · 19/04/2006 09:20

That was a cross post custy Grin

Hallgerda · 19/04/2006 09:26

I'm sure there was a byelaw banning alcohol from the Royal Parks ten years or so ago. Given the broad thrust of Government policy on public drinking I doubt the ban will have been dropped. However, I doubt it's strictly enforced against champagne drinkers (though a Royal Parks flunkey will probably appear from behind a bush to confiscate any cans of Special Brew Grin.)

anorak · 19/04/2006 09:28

All you have to do is put it in a pop bottle!

Tortington · 19/04/2006 09:32

good idea anorak.
