Hyde Park, Sunday 9th July (provisionally just in case any other events suddenly spring into their schedule).

So, who is up for it?

No probs, hopefully someone else will take over now

imaginaryfriend · 12/06/2006 11:39

I think maybe this is just meant not to be. I haven't got a clue what happened to upset so many people but it doesn't bode well for a happy event.

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2006 11:55

Well I am totally confused and still do not really know what you are getting at. I did not realise Boris had been asked to pass the message on, I just thought you were mentioning it in passing Boris. This is all getting a bit silly now tbh and I think all this cloak and dagger stuff just makes people feel paranoid.

I'll vacate the thread with my confused head on.

dinosaure · 12/06/2006 11:57

I'm bowing out not because of any unpleasantness but just because it's DS1's birthday the following Saturday and I know I'm going to need the previous weekend to make preps (am not veyr good at parties Sad).

I hope that anyone who still goes along has a very good time indeed.

Apologies.

imaginaryfriend · 12/06/2006 12:16

Franny, the cloak and dagger stuff is making me feel very paranoid. I can only conclude that someone who has been really unpleasant is still likely to be at this event which doesn't thrill me in the least.

arfy · 12/06/2006 12:18

oh well
I'm moving to NZ in a couple of months so won't be able to come to any future picnics. Guess I will remain faceless to all of you then Grin

HarpsichordCarrier · 12/06/2006 14:50

this thread is definitely doing my head in.
imaginaryfriend, please don't be put off. It isn't always like this. Things have just been a bit weird and some people are clearly still feeling in an unhappy place. HC xx
(Arfy I demand that we meet up before you go to NZ. My mind is quite made up on the subject.)

imaginaryfriend · 12/06/2006 14:53

But why does it affect THIS meet-up? That's what's making me worry! Smile

WelshBoris · 12/06/2006 14:58

Imaginaryfriend

please drop this

they have said why they dont want to come, asking these questions isnt helping things

You make your made up whether you want to go or not youre an adult

HarpsichordCarrier · 12/06/2006 14:58

I'm not sure, it's the first I have heard of it Smile
the people involved weren't planning to come anyway AFAIK

HarpsichordCarrier · 12/06/2006 15:00

Welshboris I don't think that's entirely fair on imaginaryfriend actually. she is confused about whether it is going ahead at all. As am I tbh.

imaginaryfriend · 12/06/2006 15:31

Thanks WB, you just made my mind up for me. What looked like it might be fun and exciting has become gloomy and incomprehensible.

flutterbee · 13/06/2006 14:44

Well ladies I have decided I am a deffinate no for this now, just because it is World cup final day, and if England get to the final then London will be packed because they will be popping big screens up everywhere for people to watch it and if England aren't in it then I will be at home watching anyway so can't really spare the travelling time.

For what its worth wb I think there was no need for your last comment. Everyone else just forget about the silly schoolgirl episode from before and damn well enjoy yourself. Grin

spidermama · 13/06/2006 14:47

Put me down as a maybe. It depends on the footy and who is in the final.

hub2dee · 13/06/2006 15:04
hub2dee · 13/06/2006 15:06

If it's cup final day, I imagine many people will want to watch the footie... I appreciate hotel rooms etc. may have been booked, but there's plenty of time to reschedule etc...

Pruni · 13/06/2006 15:38

Ok, have just caught up with this.
I think I might have to be a "no", too. I'm not one for pulling out of arrangements but, sorry.

hub2dee · 13/06/2006 15:46

I'm sure the thing will be big enough that if you want to avoid person X, Y, or Z you will be able to. At the same time, if you are desperate to meet A, B or C it'll be small enough that someone you introduce yourself to will know someone who knows that splendidly interesting person you want to say hello to !

Oh, and Pruni, if I go, and you go, you can have one of my Jaffa cakes too...

Unless it's my last one, in which case you're out of luck. Wink

Greensleeves · 13/06/2006 16:01

God, what a mess, my head is spinning after reading this thread Shock

I ain't coming either.

spidermama · 13/06/2006 18:00

Oh dear. I think I'd better read the thread before I sign up. Mind you, I've only got three hours. Wink

arfy · 13/06/2006 21:14

well harpsi shall we meet on that day anyway Grin

seriously would love to meet you before I bugger off.

I think this is all such a shame Sad. There were loads of others I wanted to meet too. but maybe World Cup final day is bad (because obviously Engalnd are going to be in it,. ha ha ha)

Beetle73 · 13/06/2006 21:37

Right. I don't give a stuff about the history. I'm still up for coming to a meet-up. A different date would be better for me (so I could do my duty by family), but I'd still probably attend on 9th. Sorry, I don't feel qualified to organise it.
If the big meet-up doesn't happen, perhaps someone would be interested in a meet-up for central/West London people.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 13/06/2006 21:39

Well done, Beetle. I'd like to come too. I suggested the Princess Diana park within Hyde Park as a good venue. Even if no one turns up there's still plenty to do.

Caligula · 13/06/2006 21:46

Oops, I was up for coming (maybe) but I think world cup final day might not be legal...

Beetle73 · 13/06/2006 21:58

Are Saturdays an option? Or could anyone do the following weekend?
