It's January and I'm feeling adventurous.....anyone fancy meeting up? Maybe in Crouch End or Regent's Park?

OP posts:
hoxtonchick · 09/02/2004 19:58

Yes Posey! I was going to post again but didn't want to look too keen . I guess we'll be there between 10-10:30. Errr, what do you look like...? I've got blonde-ish curly hair, ds is just 2, & has already told me he wants to wear his dungarees tomorrow.

maomao · 09/02/2004 20:05

Hope you all have a good time! Posey, thanks for your offer of helping me on the public transport front, but unfortunately:

  1. I will be in the process of moving house (what was I thinking that I could go to a MN meetup?! I guess I have a "selective memory"

  2. It's not really all that convenient for me to get there from NW3.

I would love to meet up sometime, though.

Posey · 09/02/2004 20:41

Right then just me and Hoxtonchick so far!
I'm 5'6", brownish wavy just above the shoulder hair, fairly unremarkable really!
Ds is 13m, will be wearing trousers and a grey checked shirt (dd already chose his outfit!)

Hope its not too busy and I don't end up embarrassing myself by saying to too many people "excuse me, are you Hoxton Chick?"

Posey · 09/02/2004 20:43

Sorry, very rude of me...
Suzy, hope you can make it but fully understand if you can't. Maomao hope the move goes okay.
We'll see you another time

hoxtonchick · 09/02/2004 20:44

Posey, shall i e-mail you via the contact another talker thing with my real name??

suzywong · 09/02/2004 20:49

well we'll just have to do it again sometime
now we are over the worst of winter we can let them run around outside somewhere so should have more of a choice of venues

May see you tomorrow or you may have gone by the time I get there and I will just have to pay whoever is hanging around to be my real virtual friends

hoxtonchick · 09/02/2004 20:52

Please come, suzy! There's no way I'll be able to shift ds before 11 anyway...

Posey · 09/02/2004 20:53

Hoxtonchick - you can email me if you like, but I have a feeling we'll find each other somehow!
Do you think you'll be there nearer 10.30 than 10, cos I really can do either.
Suzy, maybe see you too

hoxtonchick · 09/02/2004 20:59

Just hope it isn't too busy... Probably 10:30, is that OK?

Posey · 09/02/2004 21:10

Lovely, see you 10.30

prettycandles · 09/02/2004 21:54

Don't know if anyone's still around, but I'm on for tomorrow (thanks for the directions, Suzywong). My most recognisable feature is my red-haired 3yo boy!

See you P, SW?, HC, at 10.30 (or more likely a little after, in the hope that dd will nap on the way).

Posey · 09/02/2004 22:21

Had gone but just popped back to check something, so very pleased you can come too pc
So all boys, 1,2,3year olds. Wonder how they'll get along. Wonder how we'll get along....

prettycandles · 09/02/2004 22:26

Plus a 13mo girl!

Posey · 09/02/2004 22:31

Oh sorry didn't realise you had a girl too (haven't done my homework have I?)
Ds will be delighted, he adores babies his age, particularly girls

Davros · 09/02/2004 22:59

Have a good time everyone! Spotty and snotty baby won't travel!

hoxtonchick · 09/02/2004 23:03

See you next time Davros

survivour · 10/02/2004 00:52

Tomorrow I can't make it, but sign me up for the next meet up please, I have an 18month old ds, so soft play areas are more suitable to us...

Davros · 10/02/2004 17:49

Well.......... how did it go?

suzywong · 10/02/2004 19:15

It was great!
The venue proved to be highly suitable for all concerned, and none of us were bag-ladies.
The kids all got on well and it was such fun to put faces to nicknames. We all knew who the MNers were very easily.
I for one would happily do another Tuesday or Monday and there was talk about going to London Fields when the weather is more reliable.
Looking forward to the next one

Posey · 10/02/2004 20:26

We had a great time didn't we?
I hadn't considered being nervous until I was just driving in and thought it must be a bit like a blind date.
And as for recognising each other, Prettycandles and I dithered a bit, Hoxtonchick came straight over and introduced herself and Suzy waved to me from the door. Must have been the big "MUMSNETTER" sign I had on my head.
Anyway sorry for the disjointed conversations, just a fact of life with a demon crawling 1 year old. Lets do it again soon.

hoxtonchick · 10/02/2004 20:32

A third great here! Lovely to meet you all, ds was thoroughly over-excited for the rest of the day. Both him & me having a good time can't be bad .

prettycandles · 10/02/2004 22:17

It was great - definitely let's do it again. Both of mine were fast asleep by the time we got home - but by the time we got indoors they were both awake, so re-bundled them and we went back out again to the Baby Clinic for dd to have her MMR. A very busy and satisfying day for us.

ragtaggle · 12/02/2004 11:47

Just to say sorry I couldn't make it in the end - it was all I could do to get of the house for my 11.30 mother and baby group. But I would still really like to meet you all so please keep me posted about the next one. Glad you all had a good time!

august24 · 08/03/2004 18:36

Should we try another meet up? Now that the weather is getting nicer? Priory Park near Crouch End is a cute park and has a very cute cafe that is open in the mornings? Or else I am game to meet anyplace else including other mentioned places or Waterlow Park/Lauderdale House, Hampstead Heath etc... Most mornings are good for me except Tuesdays, and I must be done by 3 so I can pick up my older daughter. I have a younger daughter who is 3 and we are originally from the states.

percy · 09/03/2004 07:15

i'd be up for a meet in priory park
