Hi I live in Milton, with 2 boys, 4yrs and 5mths. I know of one other MNer from Pompey, but are there any other mums/mums-to-be around this way?

Hiya Girls!

Pebblemum, gutted you couldn't make it today, will we ever meet up? I was good, didn't bore Morsie and Sophie with Robbie talk!

Sophie & Morsie, was good to meet you all today. The boys all seemed to have lots of fun, and yes Sean slept on the way home and long enough once home to let me o some tidying, YAY! I ended up staying until after 12! Got chatting to another mum there.

We will definately have to do it again, and pebblemum will be there!

Glad you all had a good time. My neighbours little girl is ok, it is a chest infection, shes on antibiotics, bless her. I was very gutted that i couldnt make it but i will next time no matter what (unless its between 2-6 Oct as im away)I did manage to get to Toys R Us before dh had to go to work so the day wasnt completely wasted. Ds2 wanted everything in the shop bless him. I didnt get my meal at the Farmhouse though, ended up having Macdonalds instead

GarfieldsGirl · 22/09/2006 22:37

hmm, McDs not quite the same is it? Although if it makes you feel any better, last time i went to the Farmhouse it was really, really greasy, and not that nice. Glad your neighbours dd is OK. Happy birthday to ds2 for Sunday, hope he has a fab day. We've got ds1s next Sat. 30 invited, although 8 haven't replied, they've got til Thurs, then I'm ignoring my phone and tough if they just turn up! Then he's got a joint party for 3 people at Krazy Kaves afterwards!

Hi everyone - it was really nice to meet you GG and Morsie (feel I'm chatting in code now but anonymity rules etc...) and hopefully we'll meet you next time Pebblemum! Thanks as well for the playgroup Morsie, will see you there again next week. (Mind you it's a hazard having to go past the swings on the way back - didn't get home till 12.30!)

Let's get together for the Keeeerrazeee Kaves or an alternative such as stone-throwing in the sea soon

pebblemum · 25/09/2006 18:47

Glad the meet up went ok.

Im so tired. Ds2's birthday was very hectic. I eneded up sleeping on the sofa Saturday night because we had piled all his presents up in the lounge and i had visions of him waking at some stupid time like 2am and opening them all. As it was he didnt wake up until 8am so that was ok and i had a good night sleep without dh snoring in my ear He got so many toys. He seems to think he has to play with them all at once. Ive been trying to hoover since 3pm but as soon as i clear his train set away he starts playing with his emergency vechicles, then his tool kit. Ive given up for a minute, will try again when he is in bed. His aunty bought him an inflatable ball pool in the shapoe of a car plus 200 balls but the balls dont even cover the bottom so we have to go out and get some more 1,000 should do it i think lol.

GarfieldsGirl · 25/09/2006 19:47

Wow pebblemum, sounds like he had a great time. lol at you sleeping on sofa! Was it his 3rd? Those presents sound exactly the same as ds1 had for his 3rd!

Sophie, will you be making the Messy Tots a regular thing then? Sounds like you had a good time today.

Krazy Kaves (or something) def a good idea sometime before 1/2 term.

OP posts:
pebblemum · 25/09/2006 20:02

Yes it was his 3rd. He woke up today and the first thing he said was 'Its my birthday', he obviously thought he would get more presents lol. He has spent today popping all the balloon it took me ages to blow up Saturday night, what a waste of air, i may need that when im old

Meeting at half term sounds good to me. I will probably have to bring ds1 (9yrs) with me but he is good with younger kids so i expect he will b ok.

GarfieldsGirl · 10/10/2006 19:12

Hiya! How are you all? Does anyone fancy KK next Friday?

OP posts:
pebblemum · 11/10/2006 12:34

Im not sure if i can make it but will try. Ive got the council in fitting me a new kitchen. They only started today and im already fed up!! They reckon it could take anything up to 3wks before it is completed and during that time they can turn up at anytime to do it, no one will be able to tell me when the next lot will turn up. So basically for the next 3 weeks im stuck indoors. Ive got no cooker or washing machine and we are having to live out of boxes, i keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end

I will try my hardest to make it next friday though. Im sure by then i will be climbing the walls wanting to get out.

GarfieldsGirl · 11/10/2006 14:00

Argh! Pebblemum, what a nightmare! As you say, at least you'll have a shiny new kitchen to look forward to.

Hi there
Are working Pompey mums allowed and new to MN!? I live in Milton (by St James)and have two DD's - 3 and 16mths. Have no friends that have young uns so it would be great to meet other mums - work fulltime tho so any meetups planned for weekends or evenings would suit.

GarfieldsGirl · 20/10/2006 13:30

Hi Pack, I live opposite St James' & ds1 goes to Moorings Way so we're obviously very close! I'd be up for getting together with you of an evening or a weekend. Let us know.

Sophiev73 · 20/10/2006 13:33

Sorry missed your post about KK GarfieldsGirl - did you go?? Let's try and get together next half term. How is your boy enjoying school?

GarfieldsGirl · 20/10/2006 13:42

Hi Sophie, don't worry thats Ok . Sean's had a touch of flu, been a very poorly little boy for the last couple of days so I couldn't go anyway, and had my boiler fixed this morning, yippee, I have some heating!

Not sure what days I'm free in 1/2 term, but lets NOT do KK, don't think I could handle that in the holidays!

ds1 is loving school, but looking forward to having next week off. Had parents evening last week and we're very proud of him, "he's settling in really well, listens all the time, does as he's told, gets on with his work and has made lots of friends, is a very friendly boy". A little bit at the doing as he's told bit!!

How are you & your boys doing? Are you still going to Messy Tots with Morsie?

Hi GarfieldsGirl
Blimey we do live close! Back onto Moorings Way School in the new(ish) houses. Would love to meet up. Will check DH's movements for an evening next week maybe? Home or pub - I'm easy. Any other MNetters you know fancy meeting up too?

GarfieldsGirl · 21/10/2006 14:42

Sounds good Pack, I cannot remember the last time I had a couple of hours off, so how about teh pub? Say the night, any should be OK for me.

Sophie, Morsie, Pebblemum would you be able to make it?

OP posts:
pebblemum · 24/10/2006 12:11

Hi, im still having a nightmare with my kitchen. So far they have drilled a hole from kitchen into my lounge , given me less/smaller cupboards than i had before, told me i could use the sink but failed to tell me it would leak everywhere when i poured water down it, left jobs half done for days on end, dented one of the cupboards, forgot to give me a plug socket for my washing machine, the list goes on. I must have been mad letting them do it. Sorry rant over, im just so fed up living out of a box in the lounge and having strangers in and out of the house all day.

I would love to go to the pub one evening but unfortunatley dh works lates (4pm-1am) so its hard for me to get out, he sometimes works saturday too. Also im pretty boring at the mo, im pg so i cant really drink (but boy could i do with one, bloody council) Half term is a bit awkward for me to arrange anything during the day (bloody kitchen) but anytime after that, (hopefully it wil be finished next week)i should be ok.

Garfieldsmum, Parks - if you do go to the pub have a drink for me preferably a strong one

GarfieldsGirl · 29/10/2006 07:55

Anyone else about? Fancy a get together?

littlemisssensible · 27/02/2007 18:12

Hi Guys,

I've just found you all, although I've been Mning for a while!

Are working mners with slightly older children allowed?

I live in Milton too but I work so day time meets are difficult (except during the holidays when I could sneak out for a morning/afternoon! )

I've a dd of 9 and then 2 grown ups! ds who's 24 and dd 22!

I'd love to meet some/all of you if possible

GreedyGecko · 03/03/2007 20:33

Hi LittleMissSensible.

Sorry I've only just replied, been a busy week here!

It'd be great to meet up sometime, although I start a p/t job next week, so not sure which evenings I'm going to be free.

littlemisssensible · 03/03/2007 22:53

I know the felling! I never seem to know where I am at the moment!

I do have most evenings/weekends free though so let me know when you're free and we'll sort something out!
