What a night!!!!! Weather was perfect. Robbie was, well, awesome! My neck hurts, my arms & shoulders hurt, my throats not too bad. DPs already told me to go away! 'Thats all I'm goign to hear for the next 3 months!' Oh Yes!

Glad you had a good time! Hope guys can get it out of your systems by Friday, am envisaging a meeting where you and Pebble swap intimate details of the 'tremors in Robbie's voice when...'' etc etc!

There's someone wanting advice on the MK gig on a thread this evening by the way.

pebblemum · 18/09/2006 18:45

Glad you enjoyed it GarfieldsGirl. We were all thinking of going again Tuesday, there were still tickets available on for £45 on a website right up until yesterday afternoon. They have sold out now though rumour has it Take That may be joining him on stage, how true that is i dont know.

How the weather stays ok for Friday, if not what other options are there? Is there any indoor play areas near by? I live just outside Havant so have no idea what is local to Milton Park

GarfieldsGirl · 19/09/2006 14:37

I wanted to go again today too pebblemum, especially as its the last of teh European tour. I've heard that TT will be there, but like you say, not sure how much truth there is to that.

If it rains, theres Krazy Kaves in the Pompey Centre, not too bad during term time! I need to be at school 315. Will you ahve enough time pebblemum if we meet at 2?

OP posts:
pebblemum · 19/09/2006 17:06

If i can get either dh (he doesnt start work until 4pm) or a neighbour to be on standby then i should be ok with 2pm. Will try to sort it out then post tomorrow with a definate answer.

GarfieldsGirl · 20/09/2006 09:41

How about changing the time to about 10am? How does that suit everybody? Then I don't have to rush off, pebblemum doesn't have to worry about school, sophies ds1 can still get home in time for a nap. How about you morsie? Or ahve you got the Chichester thing sorted?

Tell me to shut up if I'm being too bossy

OP posts:
GarfieldsGirl · 20/09/2006 09:43

Oh, and have just checked the forecast. Fridays weather says 'predominately rain'. Typical eh! So shall we do Krazy Kaves instead? Its quiet during term time, and only about £3 for as long as the LOs can handle. And the foods quite nice too! he he, always thinking about food me!

Sophiev73 · 20/09/2006 11:30

hi garfieldsgirl - no caps i'm breastfeeding... 10 am better for me to be honest, yes weather looks pants for friday so the always bonkers krazy kaves - hate that spelling - is good. hooray for nice food... no you're not being bossy, just organised.

how's that plan for everyone else? is it 4 of us? you coming morsie?

GarfieldsGirl · 20/09/2006 12:49

lol, bf on the right is always the hardest when trying to type (or left of course if you're left handed), typing like t........h..........i...........s!

I hate that Krazy Kaves spelling too, how are we supposed to teach our children to spell with spellings like that! Now I sound like my mum

pebblemum · 20/09/2006 16:30

10am is ok with me to. I need to go to toys r us with dh at some point so he can pick me up from there when we are done. Its ds2's birthday on Sunday and i havent bought him anything yet
GarfieldsGirl, we should have gone to see Robbie last night, sounds like it was a good one

suzywong · 20/09/2006 16:33

I used to live in Green Road many many years ago
Is the MIghty Fine still there? ANd what about The India Arms?

morsie · 20/09/2006 18:36

hello! sorry - my machines been broken for a few days but am back on now!! 10 am Friday at the mighty Kaves is good for me.... Do we all wear carnations?

morsie · 20/09/2006 19:25

sorry suzywong only just seen your message...India Arms is still around but not sure about the other!

GarfieldsGirl · 20/09/2006 19:30

Oh wow! The India! I have spent many a Saturday before work in there! Oh, the stories I could tell. . Have heard of the Mighty Fine, but can't think which one it would be (def doesn't exist under that name). I went to school with a girl in Green Road.

10am Friday outside KK then. Probably easier than inside. I'm looking forward to it.

This was YEARS ago in the late 80s when I was a student at the Poly. I live in Bateson Hall (behind the main library in Guildhall Square) the Mighty Fine was a terrifying establishment with furniture nailed the sawdust covered floor. If you left Guildhall Square and went towards the city centre, under the railway bridge there was a Midland Bank atm next to the Mighty Fine and the Zurich Life building a little further away on the opposite side of the road.

My local was Scotts and the Eldon Arms. God the sheer NUMBER of pubs in Pompey is formidable. Here in Perth Austraila they are very few and far between, I would to walk a mile plus to my nearest pub and that is themed as a "Fish" pub. It's utterly criminal.

GarfieldsGirl · 21/09/2006 11:01

The Mighty Fine = The Albany. Oh Yes, very rough pub, if you're not a sailor, steer well clear! Have just found this website on Pompey Pubs .

I used to live in Old Portsmouth, so countless number of pubs in staggering distance! DP used to play darts pre-LOs, so I have been in many of the less savoury places, think The Raven and those round that area!

Cool - looking forward to meeting everyone - not sure I can lay my hand on a carnation but will have two small children in tow and I'll be the slightly porky one in the middle with the stressed expression on my face!

Feeling like I know nothing about Portsmouth pubs now... Must get out more. Oh yes. I can't. Grrr...lucky people going out...grr...haven't been to the cinema for forever...grr...

GarfieldsGirl · 21/09/2006 12:59

cinema? whats that? I took ds1 to see Cars in the summer. The last 3 films DP & I have seen are:

Minority Report
Pearl Harbour
Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels.

Beat that!

I've got a blue Graco pushchair.

suzywong · 21/09/2006 15:31

Thanks for the link GG, yes that was the Mighty Fine
The Bold Forrester
The Barley Mow
The Devonshire
Drummonds
ahhh I could go on

Enjoy your meetup

morsie · 21/09/2006 18:17

hello...well...see you all tomorrow at 10 at crazy caves then!! I've a big nearly two year old boy with blond hair who looks like a reeal bruiser! See you there!

Sophiev73 · 21/09/2006 22:13

Right, have just read the 'precautions' above this thread about meeting up and have got all nervous - I assume none of you are dodgy 50 year old men with body odour problems???

I live just round the corner from the Bold Forrester SuzyWong - they've recently 'updated' it and now it's full of scrubbed floors and funky seating... Still got the lovely tiled frontage though and very cheap food (so I see from the outside, not yet sampled!)

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 08:55

Hi guys

It looks like i may not be able to make it (did it twice cos im very sad)
My neighbour has just knocked to ask if i could look after her 2 older dd's while she takes the little one to the doctors, shes been awake all night, it sound like she has got a really bad chest infection. Ive said ok but my neighbour knows i had plans so is going to try to get an appointment for either before 9:30 or after 12 so i can still come, fingers X-ed. I dont hold out much hope though, our drs are always so busy you have to take what they offer or you miss out.

I was really looking forward to coming. If i do manage to get there i will be the one with the curly hair, who looks frazzled with a little boy in tow!!! Neighbours dd's are ok but drive me mad after 10mins Maybe i will get them to call you over the PA if im late, can you imagine the faces of the other mums when they here a call for GarfieldsGirl, Aprilmeadow, sophie and morsie

If i dont make it have a goodtime, i will definatly make the next one (no matter what) and think of me stuck at home babysitting

Sophiev73 · 22/09/2006 09:09

pebblemum, just setting out now, hope we get to see you!

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 09:18

Me too Sophie, i had my whole day planned out, morning at Krazy Kaves, then onto Toys R Us, meal at the Farmhouse (dh's treat) then back home in time for ds1 but unless my neighbour lets me know soon what is going on it doesnt look like i will get to do anything.

I dont mind as i know that she is always there if i need her but why did it have to be today!!! Its so frustrating. Its not often i make plans but the one day i do and something happens, typical!!!

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 10:49

Oh well you should all be there having fun and im stuck at home my neighbour has just informed me that her dd's appointment is at 11:30 so i could have made it even if it was only for half hour if she had let me know earlier. Hope you are all having a good time and GarfieldsGirl hasnt bored you silly talking about Robbie
