The museum is here for anyone wanting a look, easy to reach by public transport and loads to do for all ages from wee ones to the mummies, and daddies if theres any brave enough!!

oh, I don't believe that, but think of the oppertunities....shopping without the queues, empty shops, guarenteed seat if you stop for coffee, all because there is a crazy lady in a bikini!!

Oh you really should! Grin

Aero · 17/03/2006 21:55

I would love to come to the edinburgh meet-up. I have never met anyone from mumsnet before, so it might be a bit weird! Can someone confirm time and place, is it the cafe in the foyer of the museum? What time?

Lilliput · 18/03/2006 22:15

I meant weird in a good way, I'll be quite nervous, would we bring the kids?

prettybird · 20/03/2006 14:02

Lilliput - I don't know the Royal Museum, so wil need to be advised by those that do.

Can yuo suggest which restaurant is more suitable?

Once we've agreed that, one of us who is sure of being there can "volunteer" to get the helium balloon, which was how we identifed outselves last time (I bought an Incfedibles one at Sainsbury's).

The intetnion is to do it with kids - although they aren't compulsory! Wink

Hope you come along! :)

Twiga · 21/03/2006 08:53

Ta Prettybird - never can read properly when I post while half asleep Smile!

Jerry21 - I'm usually in Aberdeen but am exiled in Dumfries until the end of January due to dh's job.

Loobie · 21/03/2006 15:02

So, has anyone else managed to persuade their dh/dp's to come to? Think my dh will def be with us as that weekend works our perfectly for us to head on home up to Aberdeen, so we'll come to the meet up on the way. Really looking fwd to meeting everyone.

Twiga · 21/03/2006 18:41

Oh and to those of you meeting up this weekend - have fun!

Twiga · 21/03/2006 18:41

Oh and to those of you meeting up this weekend - have fun!

prettybird · 23/03/2006 09:13

My dh will be at an Airdrie football match. As he puts it, he doesn't suport football, he supports Airdrie. It's his one vice Wink

Aimsmum · 24/03/2006 13:00

I may have to give tomorrow a miss, sorry Sad

I am ridiculously loaded with the cold and all chesty, and I wouldn't want to pass it on!

Really disappointed as it would have been nice to meet you Aero and see the others again! SadSad

Will still come if I make a miraculous recovery though!

Hope you have a great time and a lovely wee break! Smile

Loobie · 24/03/2006 18:15

Ok theres 2 cafes in the museum, one right through the back called the soupson i think, and one in the foyer, the one in the foye from what i could see looks quite a posh coffee and cake kind of place, though the kids would be able to run about outside it i would think, the other is smaller but more easy going for having all the kids,it does soups, baked pots, kids boxes and drinks and sandwiches.

gomez · 24/03/2006 18:27

I just called through to DH to ask if he would like to come too - DD1 is currently resusitating him Smile.

Loobie's description of the Cafe in the foyer is about right so whilst I have never used Soupson it does sound more suitable so my vote would go for that one!

So it is planned for the 22nd April but at what time?

Also I will get the train through so can meet anyone who is not sure of where they are going at Waverly and puff up the hill with them.

sammac · 24/03/2006 21:54

Aimsmum, sorry you're feeling not so good- aero says that this is not acceptable and demands that you are better!!!!!!

We will go ahead and meet as planned at Princes Square around 12.30, and if you can struggle along, we'll see you there.

I am much more sympathetic than Aero and hope that you are feeling better Wink

Aimsmum · 24/03/2006 21:58

She wouldn't be saying that tomoorow, when i coughed and sneezed all over her....while blowing radio-active snot from my nose!!! Grin

I will come along, if i pick up in time for tomorrow, as I really should go into town for a mother's day present (for my own mum, as well as myself! Wink)

But if I don't manage along, I hope you have a lovely day and tell Aero that I hope she has a great break and it's not too cold for her!!

sammac · 24/03/2006 22:01

Well - she's not interested in your snot- that's the Irish for you- but she will have a glass of wine for you- medicinal purposes, naturally!

Her purse is burning a hole in her bag- so have to do the right thing and take her to the shops! Hopefully we can go to frasers and get a makeover- haha- you won't recognise us Grin

Aimsmum · 24/03/2006 22:05

Oh, I think it would be expected for you both to have a medicinal drink, for my health!

If i do manage along I'll just look for the two tipsy, obvioulsy just made over stunners with a mountain of carrier bags!

I was wanting to pick your teachers brain too, but it will keep for another time!! Grin

sammac · 24/03/2006 22:07

TBH- we've started tonight- just to be sure- well I've obviously not- but well- I won't say any more about my guest!!!

Ds was funny tonight when we picking Aero up at the airport- asked if she was staying for a sleepover!
