Hi everyone! Well, it's time to think about our January meet-up - are there preferences for the day of the week? Time of day? Location?

Hi ya Rach, My dd is 17 months old, iv been to the pub/restaurent along shooters hill, at the very bottm, cant remember what its called but its just another hungry horse ya know. The foods realyl ncie there, there isnt an indoor play area but there is just enough space if the children want to walk about and you can watch them. HTH have a nice time! x

bran · 20/01/2006 14:15

I definitely don't log onto Mumsnet often enough, I didn't even realise that last Tuesday was happening, what a pity I really enjoyed the previous time. I would like to come to the next one though, but I warn you I may not come if it's raining. I can cope with the hill or the rain, but both together would just finish me off.

Thell · 20/01/2006 14:23

Well I'm definitely up for coming out!
We're moving to Chislehurst very soon, but I guess this group will still be the easiest to meet up with

Rachel - the pub on Shooters Hill Road is called The Fox under the Hill. It used to have a 'Hungry Horse' sign outside which has gone, so it might be worth checking it out before deciding to go there.
I will definitely be interested in any further recommendations too! This will be my first baby.

Hoges · 20/01/2006 17:36

Hello everyone. Jazmine and I are up for an outing on Tuesday! Hope a few more can make it this week.

Bimble · 20/01/2006 17:58

Hello mummies! Would love to come out and meet but Tuesdays is postnatal class day for me for the next 4 weeks. After that will be seeking you out to play! I'm in Eltham so Greenwich not difficult for me to get to and I may even have a driving license at the beginning of Feb. Am so nervous about the test pee nearly comes out whenever I think about it!

tex111 · 20/01/2006 18:08

Tuesday sounds great. Will definitely be there. Took the kiddos to the Tea Room today. Such a great, child-friendly place and Tobes gets so tired after a run around the park.

Hi Thell. We just moved to Blackheath from Chislehurst. Whereabouts in Chislehurst will you be? It's a lovely place.

So interested to hear about the family pubs in the area. I'd love to find a place that does a good Sunday roast. I do NOT recommend The Clarendon Hotel in Blackheath. I read about it in London for Children but it was not good. Soggy veg and a really bad atmosphere.

KBear · 20/01/2006 20:20

The Toby Carvery at Crook Log as Jen said - great roast dinner!

rachelmendham · 22/01/2006 12:43

hi all, went to princess alice, nr prison. was very impressed. was quit, kids could run about and make noise and not one complaint. would recommend, only one thing could improve. a play area indooror out. but overall very good.

rachelmendham · 22/01/2006 12:44

meant quiet, good food 2. reasonable.

KBear · 22/01/2006 14:50

Alice not Alexandria!! ha ha I knew it was a princess! glad you had a good time.

jenweber630 · 22/01/2006 18:22

Oh tex - you've definitely got to make it to the Toby Carvery - there's always a bit of a wait but we love it and probably go around once a month when we get around to dinner early enough.

So who can make this Tuesday? I'm hoping to (famous last words!!).

Hoges · 22/01/2006 21:13

Jazmine and I are planning to be there. She had a bit of a sniffle today, so fingers crossed it's not going to develop into anything worse or we may have to stay away from you all. She seemed OK at bedtime so I'm hoping it will be gone by morning.

jenweber630 · 22/01/2006 22:40

I plan on it for sure - Mitchell didn't seem to be doing all that great yesterday but he was perfectly fine today.

KBear · 23/01/2006 13:11

bran · 23/01/2006 13:14

Me, me, me, me, me, me - unless I expire on the hill of course.

bambi06 · 23/01/2006 13:16

jenweber630 · 23/01/2006 15:11

It's the one at the top of the hill near the royal observatory.

KBear · 23/01/2006 17:58

bran - we'll have paramedics on standby in case you keel over!

bran · 23/01/2006 19:30

Will the paramedics have chocolate cake KBear?

Hoges · 23/01/2006 19:32

Hi Guys. Sorry, but I'm going to have to pull out of this one as Glen (dh) is in hospital. We had a very scary day today with him being rushed to hospital, unconscious, by ambulance at 7 am this morning. As yet, no idea what is wrong and he's not looking too healthy. Tubes etc everywhere. After 10 hours at the hospital, Jazmine is also pretty stressed out. My Mum is coming up from Eastbourne first thing in the morning to do 'Jazmine duty' whilst I go backwards and forwards visiting the hospital. Fingers crossed everything will be back to normal in a couple of days. See you all soon and will someone please have a yummy coffee for me!

bran · 23/01/2006 19:44

Oh Hoges that's terrible news, poor you and dh. I hope he is much better very soon. We will be thinking of you.

blossom2 · 23/01/2006 19:46

oh hoges - lots of hugs for you and family. hope they find out what wrong/happened soon.

i'm not going to come either because i've been struck down with this horrible flu bug and since some babes are still quite young, i'd feel awful if they got the bug too ... so after the two DD's are okay and nothing but runny noses ... sorry again

KBear · 23/01/2006 20:21

If it gets you up the hill faster bran, yes they will have lots of chocolate cake. On a table, free, laid out at the top!

I'm still alright to come - see you there at 12.30 ish.

Hoges, hope DH is better soon, how scary for you. Best wishes.
