Hi everyone! Well, it's time to think about our January meet-up - are there preferences for the day of the week? Time of day? Location?

kitegirl · 10/01/2006 19:58

lovely to meet you all, let's do it again soon.

jenweber630 · 10/01/2006 23:33

It was lovely to see old and new faces today - and Mitchell had a blast chasing Sammy and Toby around... So much so that he came home and took a nap for 3 hours. Though, I think the experience made him need to more time to process the events from today so it took me 2 hours to get him down... Such is life. So - who's planning the next one???

tex111 · 12/01/2006 18:28

Prettyful, you mentioned that you used the baby Gaviscon too and I was wondering how long you needed to use it. Did you use it for every bottle? Just tried to feed Rosie without it and we both had to change clothes - she brought up virtually the whole feed! I'd be very interested to hear more about your experience.

Why don't we all get together again next week? Same place, same time if that's good for everyone. I could do Thurs or Fri.

Prettyfull · 12/01/2006 18:45

Hi ya tex,

Sorry im terrible with names, i believe its Catherine. I'l mail you more about Leah and the Gaviscon. Im def up for meeting again next week, a little earlier would be good for me though to fit in with Leah, i can do any day Monday-Thurs i think!

Hopefully you'l be able to come hoges, Kbear and any other who couldnt make it!!! x

Prettyfull · 12/01/2006 18:56

Hi ya tex,

I tried mailing you but it says you dont allow other to e mail you, so i'l tell you on here lol.

So,...Leah had Gaviscon sachets from about 6 months! I started giving her them in every feed. I slowly weaned her off by putting smaller amounts in each bottle and then taking it away from every other bottle.

I also gave water in between feeds which i found worked really well with Leah to help bring up any wind. I also had to wind her in between every few mouthfuls of milk.

She was putting on weight fine with the gaviscon too which was good! I started her on solids at around 4 months so this helped as she wasnt bringing food up, only her milk. The solids seemed to help keep the milk down!

I cant think of anything else to advise on, i strongly recommend taking your time and winding Rosie alot!!! If you want to ask anything id be happy to tell you or try and help as it is worrying watching your lo be sick!

How long has Rosie been taking the medicine??

Goodluck & see you soon,
Sarah & Leah x

Prettyfull · 12/01/2006 18:58

One more thing, sorry my typing is terrible, Leah had the sachets from birth till about 6 months.

kitegirl · 12/01/2006 19:36

oh god I remember baby gaviscon - we used to go through mountains of the stuff! Sami actually was diagnosed reflux and we moved on to stronger stuff but that's another story... tex if you are suspecting reflux cat me, but hopefully Gaviscon does the trick for Rosie.

I am away snowboarding next week but will show up for the next one, the venue was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. see you soon x

KBear · 12/01/2006 19:42

I would love to come next week but I can only do Tuesday because of work (hmmph, doesn't work get in the way of your social life!).

Sounds like you all had a good time. Beachy I'm sorry I missed you, was dying to see your DD!

tex111 · 12/01/2006 20:49

Thanks prettyfull and kitegirl, so reassuring to know that others have gone through the same thing. I do suspect reflux because she seems to be in pain when she burps and she spits up LOADS without the gaviscon. The Gaviscon does seem to do the trick though, even with just half a dose. I'll stick with it. It's just been a week but she's had it almost every feed. The few times I've tried to feed her without it we were back to her impersonations of The Exorcist and a very restless night.

Sorry my CAT isn't working. There was a typo in my email address and I haven't been able to correct it. I've contacted the MN tech and will hopefully get it sorted out.

As for the meet-up, how about Tues so kbear can make this one. Would 10am be too early? Toby has preschool from 9-12.30 so I can either come while he's at school but will need to dash by about 12.00 or wait and come about 1.00. I'm happy to fit in with everyone else.

KBear · 12/01/2006 20:53

My DS has pre-school until 11.45 so I could make a 12.30 meetup. If it's a pain for everyone else I'll see you next time.

beachyhead · 12/01/2006 23:22

I can do next Tuesday 17th Jan at the park at about 12.30 ish. Looking forward to seeing KBear and if anyone else wants to come, please feel free. I'm sure we'll regulate to monthly meetings shortly, but I really liked all the MN's I met and I'd love to make it a calender event.......

Hoges · 13/01/2006 08:03

Hi All, Jazmine's godmother will be over from Australia with us next week. But we'll seee what else we have planned and come along if we're able to. Hopefully it will work out.
