East Dulwich: want to meet up?

Hi there
I live in East Dulwich with my partner and 16 month old son. The trouble is, most of my friends with babies/toddlers live in west London where we used to live. I'd love to make some friends locally, but I work four days a week (off on Friday) so have found it hard! I've been to a few music groups, but haven't been able to track down any playgroups in the area. Does anyone have any tips for playgroups, or do you fancy meeting for a coffee? I work for a publishing company and am down to earth and friendly - just need some mum mates nearby!

I am now totally untogether about RS and no doubt all tickets have sold out. Will try and scramble brain together later today. Have spent two days in bed and am still feeling poorlybad

Blu · 09/12/2003 10:15

Sorry, have been completely poleaxed by DS's flu, and mine.
Don't know what ticket sales are like, but 11.30 Sunday seems the favourite...but then there may be a group on SAturday, too!

bossykate · 09/12/2003 10:49

ok, can't do sunday, could probably do saturday if anyone is planning to go that day.

bun · 09/12/2003 19:02

Unlikely to do Rasta Santa but interested in January meet up. Surely not the chill winds of DP...but then surely not the horror of soft play either....

motherinferior · 11/12/2003 08:29

Sunday Rasta Santa: I'm going. Who else?

Blu · 11/12/2003 11:18

Us, if DS and i are well enough....

bossykate · 11/12/2003 14:08

sorry can't make it sunday, have fun!

aloha · 11/12/2003 15:43

I'm booked for Sunday! Hooray.

motherinferior · 12/12/2003 20:31

I shall deck my (rather horrid) bag with a tinselly streamer thing as instructed, if dd1 doesn't nick the streamer first. Although in fact I think I probably know what quite a few of you look like.

Cha · 13/12/2003 11:01

I will try and make it too - though haven't bought a ticket... Is it really for littlies or can a nearly 6 year old come? I am very, very tall and my dd is curly haired and brown. Hopefully see some of you there!

tigermoth · 13/12/2003 11:21

I want to go, I want to go - but I can't - unless a miracle happens....

samACon · 15/12/2003 18:31

So how did the Rasta Santa meetup go? Did Santa make it through OK?

Cha · 16/12/2003 14:19

ok - so I never made it... Lie in with the Archer's omnibus did it for me - SELFISH MUMMY, SELFISH MUMMY. How about meeting up in the New Year? My dd (aged 2) goes to nursery Mons and Fris so any other day midweek is OK. We could meet in Brockwell Park maybe?

bossykate · 16/12/2003 14:31

did anyone go? it's very quiet here...

Blu · 16/12/2003 14:37

Sorry folks, I didn't make it as DS was / is 'flubound...we might try and go next week, depending on whether I have abandoned all attempts to get anything ready for Xmas. But would love to meet up in NY.

samACon · 16/12/2003 14:49

New Year meet up sounds good - blow the christmas cobwebs away

motherinferior · 17/12/2003 08:30

I can only do Fridays, I'm afraid, but I'd love to come along.

aloha · 17/12/2003 09:29

I had to take my ds home as he 'didn't like the singing and dancing'! Ungrateful little toad... He's had a nasty cold and just found all the noise, lights and people a bit overwhelming I think.

I work Mon - Wed - free Thurs and Fri and some afternoons after 3pm.

katiepie · 02/10/2004 19:25

hello,

i'm a new mum in the area and looking for a possible meet up with other mums in and around east dulwich... would like to join up for coffee and or a brisk walk... trying to get back some energy!!!

lydialemon · 03/10/2004 00:12

Good grief this is a very old thread to resurrect!

Good idea though, there are a few of us around here ( I'm in Streatham though not E Dulwich - I just have illusions of grandeur hanging around with you finer types in Dulwich )

Brisk walk in the park or coffee in that cafe, Blue Mountain? No idea where it is though!

mandy2004 · 13/10/2004 12:32

Hi, I'm in dulwich/ herne hill with my little girl 11 weeks. Would like to start getting out and about and meet other mums for coffee. I will check out this blue mountain place. i did an (unsuccessful!) reckie of lordship lane in the rain) yeterday but didn't spot northcross road. Have discovered that navigating london with a buggy is a v. different experience.

lydialemon · 13/10/2004 12:59

Hi Mandy!

OK ladies we're being very slack here. We really really need to arrange some kind of meet up.

MI - It was the end of season last night so it's about time I gave you these tapes!
